Clutter is a scam

Clutter is a scam, do not move with them! Scheduled to move June 17 between 7-8am. They cancelled at 8am and rescheduled for June 18. They changed the flate rate from 1 hour to 4 minimum without my consent. June 18 rolls around and again they cancel at 8am after I've been waiting around for 2 hours. How do you only realize the day of that you have trucking logistics issue? So unprofessional and customer service was unhelpful - they couldn't guarantee this issue wouldn't happen again

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

The concept behind clutter.com is great. The execution is a disaster. My reservation clearly stated that four movers would be handling the packing & move, but they only sent two guys. These guys were nice, but worked incredibly slow. Clutter made a second reservation for the next day, just in case they needed a bit more time to finish up. Since they had only packed and moved one bedroom and an office in 7 hours, I was worried about getting the move done in time. I was relieved to see that they sent four movers on the second day, but two left after their lunch break. Which reminds me - both days they made a point of letting me know they would be taking a 30 minute lunch break and that I would not be paying for that time. BUT, both days they were gone for over an hour. Fine, I understand it’s physically taxing work and they need time to eat and recharge. But there has been no clarity as to if I was charged for the additional time they took. They were incredibly slow the second day as well, so much so that they sent a supervisor to manage and assist with the move. After 12 hours, they just quit. They left A LOT of stuff behind and I had to scramble to find a way to get it out of the house and into a self-storage unit. The absolute worst moving experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve moved at least a dozen times. I would highly discourage anyone from hiring this company. The customer service has also been a nightmare. I’m still waiting for a call from management two weeks after I was told I would receive one.

Cost Effective but lacks care and customer service

I hired Clutter moving to move my 2 bedroom apartment in Jersey City, NJ to about 20 miles northwest of the city in Bergen County. The Clutter movers sent 2 trucks and 5 people for a 1,200 sq ft apartment for a relatively attractive price ($359 per hour). We had about 80% of the apartment already packed with Clutter to take care of the kitchen and all large items packed for us. We originally agreed on a small package, but upgraded to the full packing plan (an additional $199).

Here is where Clutter falls short. While the kitchen was packed beautifully and took a rather long amount of time - the rest of the packing items seemed to have missed the mark. We had several painting and canvas items bent, small plastic drawers broken, and even a monitor (that they packed) completely smashed and no longer working. When submitting a claim - we learned that even though that they packed the item, it was not covered. In no time during the packing was this made known that the packing plan was NOT covered. So, for example, if they packed your $5,000 TV and broke it - tough luck! Not a good look Clutter.

All in all - it took 9 or so hours for the move (this included an hour of travel) where they did not unpack anything (this was not included) but did put together any furniture they disassembled. I tipped the team well and they went off. It wasn't until the day after unpacking the many boxes and bubble wrap that we found the damage to our items.

Let me be clear that the team worked incredibly hard to move us. They, all in all, did well, they just were not as careful as they should be.

The problem here lies with communication and customer service. Their basic plan covers "$1 per pound" which is apparently $18 for a $500 monitor that I now have to replace. I recommend getting the insurance policy even if they do everything for you because somehow, they dont cover their own work.

Nightmare Storage & Moving

I would have never done business with this company due to there poor ratings online.

I had storage with a company called CallBox Seattle. Then Clutter bought them. I wasn't informed. When I start getting billed at a higher rate from Clutter, I found out this had happened.

Time passes, and I start making plans to get my items moved to LA. First, they say my items are not longer in a storage unit, so I cannot visit as they are in a warehouse somewhere. I never agreed to this, and it is horrible because I have some large items I would liquidate on craigslist that I don't want to pay moving costs on. Well, now I am forced to all or nothing.

I make plans to show up to the warehouse with a Uhaul. Then when I check back to confirm, they tell me I can no longer visit the warehouse, only "professional moving companies" can do this. Shocking.

So I start working with a moving company, and check back to confirm the warehouse address. Now clutter says "we no longer allow warehouse pickups, we must find another location to deliver your items".

Now this is extremely suspicious, why would they go to the cost and effort to load 10x15" worth of items, about 2 tons, into a truck, just to unload it again? Allowing movers to show up at their location would save them money? Causes suspicion that they have lost or destroyed my items and are just stringing me along.

So I offered to have my mover meet them at a nearby Walmart parking lot, and they counter by offering to meet at a park. My mover says that no mover will do this, so why would they pick such a location.

Now, they have just gone radio silent to the email thread we had established. And they never answer the phone. After all the barriers that they have thrown up, and the amount of nightmare reviews I now read, I am doubting that they even have my items or intend to return them at all.

If you hate nightmares, avoid this company. Or any company that even looks like them since they have bought up Callbox, Makespace, and perhaps others I am unaware of. It is really sad because the convenience of having an integrated mover & storage facility is a great idea. But no matter how great your idea is, you have to have some honor and treat customers well.

Extremely Disappointed: Negligence and Broken Promises

I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with [Company Name], a storage company that has failed to uphold their promises and provide a safe and secure environment for my belongings. Over the span of five years, I entrusted them with over $65,000 worth of items, expecting that they would be kept in pristine condition. However, my experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare.

First and foremost, the company failed to maintain a clean and hygienic storage facility. Upon retrieving my belongings, I was appalled to discover an overwhelming presence of mold infestation. This blatant neglect not only resulted in the destruction of numerous valuable items but also posed a serious health hazard. The fact that the company allowed such a hazardous situation to develop is utterly unacceptable.

Furthermore, it became evident that rats had infiltrated the storage units, leaving behind droppings and causing further damage to my belongings. This demonstrates a complete lack of pest control measures and adds insult to injury, as it further highlights the company's disregard for the safety and well-being of their customers' possessions.

Despite their initial promises to keep my belongings intact, it is clear that [Company Name] has failed to fulfill their obligations. The condition in which my items were returned to me is a testament to their negligence and inability to provide the level of service they advertise.

I urge anyone considering using [Company Name] for their storage needs to proceed with caution. My experience has been a costly and devastating one, with irreparable damage done to my cherished belongings. It is my hope that by sharing my experience, others can avoid the heartache and financial loss that I have endured.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against utilizing the services of [Company Name]. Their failure to maintain a clean and secure storage environment, coupled with their broken promises, has resulted in significant damage to my belongings. The lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by this company is truly disheartening.

Worst Experience Ever

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Stored my items with this company in for 2 years. They broke a table when they picked up the items. They caused $15,000 worth of damaged and lost items. They lost 8 out of the 15 crates I filled up with them. They initially offered $400 to cover damages and kept pointing to the policy. The expanded policy minimally covers as well. The loading team at their warehouse was completely unprofessional making my movers wait while they took breaks. Overall, one of the worst experiences ever. If you want your items in tact, use another company. This one is not accountable and does not care about their customers or their belongings.

Disgusting service.

Your movers came and halfway through the move, a religious object fell out of the box,Ask what it was, when explained that it was a Jewish Shofar. They stopped loading and then unloaded all that was in the truck brought it back in the house and then left.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY USE BIGOTTED MOVERS.

Great Service, Prompt, and Friendly.

I will never use another storage company. Prices are significantly cheaper and there is a detailed log of all my belongings that are easily accessible at any moment by a great staff. This is the cheapest option I found and it also by far the best services of anything I had done previously.

Horrible....

These guys are HORRIBLE. If you're local and can get your stuff yourself it's fine, but if you need to work with them long distance through a mover it's nothing but red tape, empty apologies and headaches.

Several movers I've called won't even work with them!!!
