These guys were awesome! They came in 10 minutes before scheduled time - just enough to back the truck in and get paperwork signed and started exactly at the time scheduled. They did not stop until the truck was loaded, listened to all instructions we gave them, took care of every little thing. They loaded a 4 bedroom house garage in 2 hours! Got to the new house before we did and offloaded everything in 2 hours. Based on my previous dealings with movers, we estimated at least 8-hour move, instead we got 1/2 that. Everyone present was blown away! In addition, we did not have to lift a finger - just stand and watch them work.
 
We would not hesitate recommending these guys to anyone and will definitely use them next time.

We used Carefree Moving to move from Toronto to Kingston. Carefree Moving gave us a quote which was probably lesser than most others. They turned up on time for the move and loaded the truck quickly and efficiently. We wanted delivery the next day as we planned to reach Kingston late at night. The arrived the next day again promptly on time and the loading was extremely efficient. Not a single item was damaged and we received our packages in almost perfect condition. I have moved houses so many times before with different movers but have never seen such service. Would use them again if needed and would recommend them to anyone I know. Keep up the great work!

Amazing job by Carefree Movers! I moved from a downtown Toronto condo to a house in Hamilton. From setting up the delivery over phone and email, to confirmation, to drivers arriving, packing the truck and unpacking to final payment - everyone involved was professional, friendly, honest, efficient and careful. Igor and Vlad were the best movers I could have asked for! they made the move pleasant and easy. I’d highly recommend them for anyone for their move. This was the best moving experience I’ve ever had and I have moved many times. Thank you Igor & Vlad!!

Stay away from this company. The movers were very rude and refused to move boxes that they felt were too heavy, when I was able to lift it my self. They also spent 30 minutes getting there truck stuck in the snow. Finally the last negative experience was the tipping part. The mover was very aggressive and making fun of me for tipping low and compare my tip to restaurant tips policy being better. Also he mentioned that a 15% tip will be added next time I book with them. If there ever will be a next time. I do not recommend them for your moves. Really bad service and they make the experience very stressful.

I had a team of 3 lovely gentlemen arrive. Yes, they arrived late however, they did call to give me a heads up. I was perfectly fine with them being late as I was running late myself.

The gentlemen's tetris packing skills are on point!! I was throughly impressed. Mattresses were bagged to be protected (which I had provided) and large pieces of furniture where plastic wrapped to protect it further and for their ease of removal and delivery. I had a large amount of boxes to load onto the truck. In the end they all were with room for extra!

I will definitely be using this company again (should I move), and if possible, the same team. We chatted during the move and my family got to know them.

This was a truly terrible experience. I moved over a year ago, but this still eats at me so I'm finally posting a review as a head's up for others.
I suspect the quality of your move is largely dependent on who your actual movers are when they come. One of ours was brutally bad (I believe his name was Viktor), and the other followed his lead (I suspect he might have been okay had it not been for the bad influence). Took over 6 hours longer than the 3 they quoted us (and I had forewarned them I had a fair bit of stuff for a 1 bedroom), moved initial boxes etc into the centre of the room, strewn about, making it impossible to fit our furniture and the rest of the boxes, so they left them in the apartment hall. They broke many things, scratched others, lost screws and such for furniture, and lost two large framed prints (I suspect they broke them too badly so dumped them, since we didn't find them in the old apartment or truck). They moved at a snail's pace. We caught the bad mover playing on his phone when he thought we weren't around, the two of them moved very small, light items together, moved stackable chairs one at a time, etc. They also let my cat out of the washroom and the balcony door was open; we couldn't find him and they spent ages looking over the balcony railing trying to see if he'd jumped, even as I literally begged them to just keep moving my stuff and leave the looking to me - they completely ignored me, chatting and laughing with each other on the balcony. They were so slow that my boyfriend and I ended up moving a bunch of our stuff off the truck ourselves. They insisted I had to pay more for moving my treadmill despite my having checked with the company beforehand - they said that even though I had an elevator, it still counted as having to lift the treadmill because they had to tilt it a bit to the side to get it through the doorway. I called the company, and they didn't charge me. They also made us pay in full and sign the end contract before they were done, then tried to make us pay more, saying they wouldn't finish moving our stuff until we did. I saw this in at least one other review, too, so sounds like an ongoing issue. I called the company and their manager called them, at which point they finished the move.
There was a ton more really bad stuff, but I don't want to even think about this enough to relay it all. I just want people to be warned, even though I think it really is dependent on the actual individuals doing your move. The company seemed really decent in my conversations with them - it was just the actual movers who were truly terrible (and rude, but I don't even want to get into that).

Carefree Moving moved us from Toronto to Fredericton NB today and weren’t able to be more happy. They really did a great job for us! The beginning was very promising and positive when I saw the truck 30 min earlier (they’d been worry to come late because of the weather and came so early!). Guess during three Hrs or less they've loaded all my boxes (about 70!) and furniture. I must admit, some were very heavy because of the books. But the guys didn't complain at all. They just asked me to allow them to re-pack some of my boxes. So this part was great like all other.

They helped me to load my big TV in my own car, my wife's plants (they advised us on how to pack them to not freeze poor things). In addition I had my old fashion piano. They charged me some extra but very fair and what we discussed before.

In Frederiction we arrived on time, the unload seemed to me even faster than loading. Everything fine, nice and unbroken. So I am very happy with this movers.

The guys I had to help move couldn’t have been better. My two bedroom apartment move wasn’t a huge one, but the destination I was moving to must have been one of the most frustrating moves for them- a main road, a tiny elevator that barely fit anything in it, and a maze of fire stairs to navigate to the third floor. Our two guys were efficient, very careful, and not to mention hilarious. They made sure to bring my attention to any existing scuffs or dents on my items and were super professional. Can’t believe how good the service was, I will definitely be recommending and using them again for our next move.

My expensive 2 sitter recliner is not working. I don't know how they treat my sofa.

They showed up late.

When they reach at the destination they will ask you to pay first otherwise they are not going to off load the truck. And they will charge you money according to them.

I sent them email of moving list. They knew about my stuff but purposely they sent small truck, then after hour and fifteen minutes they sent large truck. also charge me for that hour plus additional cost for the new truck. Also they start forcing me to hire 3rd mover that I declined. So they said you have too much stuff that's why it will take more time. They took 10 hours to move 2 bedroom apartment to a small house.

I requested them to plastic wrap everything. Few things they wrapped and half just took without wrapping. They even didn’t bother to tell workers that what and how customer needs their service.

They have another name of their company because they do call back from the phone number named North York Move.

Yesterday was my worst day. I m not recommended to do business with them .

Excellent service, right from the first quote to the final response. Because of the restricted elevator hours for the building, I had to change my move times. They were very professional and patient. They were very responsive to emails and their quotes. The movers were professional, polite and efficient. Quick move, too. Fair prices, clean equipment and a stress-free day were all made possible by them. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for moving services.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this particular experience compelled me to do so. Despite booking my move a month in advance and providing detailed descriptions and measurements of my belongings, I encountered several issues. The movers arrived late with an inadequately sized truck. In an attempt to accommodate the situation, I suggested making two trips since our new location was only 300 meters away. However, the movers proceeded to load only six items into the elevator while taking their time chatting and stalling instead of efficiently working. Since we were so high up in the building, I found loading only 6 in the elevator to be extremely inefficient, so I offered to assist by going down with one to assist in loading, while the other helped my elderly father prepare more boxes at the front of the elevator. They declined, so we asked if they could at least load more than 6 boxes in an elevator that could load almost 30, but they complained about the working environment and accused us of interfering with their job. It was unnecessary for two people to handle just six boxes in an elevator that could accommodate 30. Eventually, they abruptly left the job after a mere 20 minutes of work. To my surprise, one of the movers even attempted to scam me by asking for payment for his taxi ride home and altering the terms of our agreement to where we'd be paying 120$ for only the truck and I would load it myself. Their unprofessional behaviour during our closing day left us in a difficult position. I have never encountered such dishonesty in my life, and I suspect there may have been a racial motivation since one of the movers expressed his dislike after learning we were Muslim. They mishandled our boxes, which was captured on security footage. Despite my efforts to do most of the work myself, the movers insisted on leisurely loading the dolly into the truck. I had to urgently call friends for assistance and complete the move myself due to their incompetence. Considering the substantial hourly rate of $120 and an upfront of 180$, I expected at least a basic level of efficiency, which they failed to deliver.

They were five and a half hours late because they initially brought the wrong truck (too small). Then when they finally showed up it took them five (5) hours to pack up a small two (2) bedroom basement apartment (with no appliances).

Then when they were finished packing up from point my old place I was suppose to meet them at my new place; however, I received a telephone call after midnight from the company that they rent moving trucks from that advised me that the movers had picked up the truck at 6:00 a.m. that day and were past the legal time to work and that they had to bring the truck back immediately and were not permitted to make the delivery to me.

My bed, all my clothes and all of my toiletries were on the moving truck and it was well after midnight and I had nothing to sleep on and consequently I had to stay at a hotel. The unreasonable management did not even reimburse me for the hotel through their booking error in sending movers that they ought to have known would not be able to complete the move the same day (from Vaughan to Scarborough).

The next day they were suppose to come deliver my property at my new place at 9:00 a.m. They didn't end up showing up until after 5:00 p.m. and I was forced to take an unpaid day off of work. Again, I was not reimbursed or discounted for my out-of-pocket expenses incurred because of this companies inherent negligence, unprofessional and disorganization.

Lastly, the move culminated with the movers hitting the corners and edges on my oak wood desk while going through doors, piercing the shrink wrap (they didn't used blankets duck tapped on like I had requested) scratching my desk and taking the finish off as well, they also punctured my leather sectional couch putting a hole in one of the cushions.

This unscrupulous moving company then had the temerity to attempt to deny my claim for the damages that they negligently inflicted to my personal property. I had to commence legal proceedings by serving and filing a Plaintiff's Claim in order to get compensated for my damages.

Horrible experience dealing with this sub-par and shabby moving company that caused me a copious amount of stress and anxiety along with a gross and ongoing inconvenience.

Avoid at all cost!

THIS MOVE TOOK 3 DAYS TO COMPLETE. THE FIRST DAY THREE MOVERS SHOWED UP. THEY MOVE VERY SLOW AND REST FOR 10 MIN EVERY TRIP TO THE TRUCK. THEY DAMAGED MY EXPENSIVE DINING ROOM SET AT THE BACK OF THE TRUCK WHEN SOMETHING FELL ON IT. IT WASN'T COVERED WITH BLANKETS. WHY WASN'T THE FURNITURE TIED DOWN IN THE BACK SO IN TRANSIT THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. THE SECOND DAY TWO MOVERS SHOWED UP BUT ONE WAS REALLY SICK SO THEY BOTH LEFT. THIRD DAY THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP TILL NOON. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TOOK THAT LONG. THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGE ON MY FURNITURE. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY INSURANCE SO JUST WARNING YOU NOT TO USE THEM UNLESS YOU PURCHASE EXTRA INSURANCE YOURSELF. I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT AND AFTER ONE YEAR OF FIGHTING WITH THEM, THEY FINALLY REALIZED THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A CASE AND PAID FOR MOST OF THE DAMAGE EXPENSE.
THIS MOVE COST ME OVER 3,000.
