Bust a Move

I moved with this company last October because of the wildly enthusiastic reviews. My move was anomalous, I think. The movers were nice, and friendly, but a few things: they came 40 min. early (I had a 9-9.30 am start time confirmed by phone the night before, they came at 8.20) and then charged me for the 20 minutes they waited as I frantically ran my dog to the dog-sitter, tied up loose ends etc; the mover in charge didn't have me look at the form you're supposed to look at at the start and finish - until the move was over (when I couldn't dispute the start time or the insurance I apparently bought although I've never bought moving insurance in my life); they forgot the toolbox they needed (at least they didn't charge me for the 45-min. wait); they placed several boxes upside down in the new apartment; one mover (really nice but really clumsy) crushed an art print I'd moved separately by putting a box on top of it; and a few other little things. I won't use them again personally, but I see that tons of people have had a great experience.

This was a small local move for an elderly aunt who was in a hospital.  We were helping to get her moved to a retirement home but she was unable to provide direction.  We were in another city when we set up the move, but were there when the actual move took place.  Jonathan was very helpful in guessing what materials might be required, and there was more than enough. The 3 workers arrived 10 minutes early, and were easy-going but hard working.  Because of limitations at the unloading end we had only a small time window to pack, load, transport, and unload.  All done between 8 am and 1130 am! The workers took no short cuts.. everything was well packed, and even when I was chatting with them they kept working.  No wasted time, no wasted material, no damage.  All on time and to budget.  That's what I call a quality job!  Could not have asked for more!  .

I move last week with Bust a Move from a 2 bedroom home in Hampstead to another 2 bedroom in Westmount beside the park. It took a long time for me to choose a moving company because I have many valuable items (china, artwork, antiques) and after lots of research I decided to hire Bust a Move because of the good online reviews their company had and the general good feeling I got when talking to their representative on the phone. Martine explained everything very thoroughly and made sure I understood everything about the upcoming move. On moving day I was impressed by the three man team that showed up. All were neatly groomed and were dressed the same in jeans, and company sweaters and vests (they looked professional).  Before starting the move they put down long rubber mats throughout my home to protect the floors (It wasn't really necessary but thoughtful none the less). They then proceeded to wrap up my valuable items in protective blankets and constructed special packing boxes for my artwork. I must say I was impressed with their level of respect for both me and my belongings. They called me by Mrs. Webb and were polite.  After about 30 minutes of watching them work I knew I was in good hands. The offload proved to be a slight challenge as the truck had to be parked far from the main door which added time and effort to the move. They had a lot of wheel carts which helped speed things up. Everything was put into it's place and they put my big bed back together. At one point one of the guys placed his toolkit on my bedside table which I was not too happy about because it could have been scratched but luckilly it was not. Overall I would highly recommend them based on my experience with them. My move could not have been any smoother and I felt like it was well worth the price that I had paid.

Strongly recommend Bust a Move to anyone looking for honest and professional movers who will provide you with a stressfree move. My move happened on an extremely cold winter day and at no point did any of the guys complain, in fact it was quite the opposite as they all had sunny dispositions. They rolled out the carpet upon arriving to protect the floors and each had a specific role which helped the move run smoothly. I would encourage anyone to take the extra insurance as I did. Jon (the owner) was quick to help get my items back to me in excellent condition. I would not hestitate to recommend Bust a Move to friends or family, they have in fact restored my faith in movers.
