Horrible

Hello,

I would like to express my displeasure with your company. What a complete scam and horrific experience from the beginning until the very end.

I wish I would have gone with a more reputable company that did not price gouge me and hold my goods as hostage until I paid more money that was quoted multiple times. Really disheartening to learn about your fraudulent business practices and how you treat customers that paid you thousands of dollars in advance and a few more thousand just prior to the move.

This concerns me deeply because this practices, locks the customer in and forces them to pay the money and does not allow time to look or found alternate moving services. I was also very upset and had a heated argument with the subcontractor you scheduled both in Beverly and in Doral, Florida where I was again scammed out of thousands of dollars.

I would appreciate a high-level review and consideration to refund part of my payments to satisfy a customer and avoid potential litigation concerning your deceptive sales tactics and fraudulent business practices.

Moving

We contracted with Trusted Moving and Storage for our home move from South Windsor CT to Wylie TX.

They in turn sub contracted the job to Bristol Movers who from the beginning have been completely unprofessional.

The pick up date was changed from 2nd Oct to 3rd Oct and the pick up estimate was changed despite the binding estimated by almost $1700.

The two movers (James and James) were were extremely good in their work however the same cannot be said about their organization.

The truck was packed on 3rd october but wasn’t sent out and we were bullied into accepting a later date as Ghaleb, the owner, told us that the truck would reach us in two days and if we are not there then they will charge us $1000 per day for holding the truck.

It was told that the truck would reach on 8th or 9th October during that interaction.

There was no interaction or communication from this company from this point and. When we checked again on the 9th, we were told very rudely that they can’t work with our timelines and that it will reach us by 13th as a worst case scenario.

Today is the 12th and we still don’t have any idea where our truck and stuff is.

On calling again, Ghaleb spoke extremely rudely to both my wife and I and challenged us to complaint about him with DOT and even they can’t do anything to him. He cut the call saying that it will reach when it will reach and he cannot do anything more as ours is a small move and he needs to concentrate on the big ones.

My question is if that was the case, why did he accept this job when the initial “binding estimate” was lower (752 cf) than what left our house (900 cf).

This was extremely unprofessional attitude and unethical to hold the stuff for ransom and not even providing any update to the customer about the whereabouts of the truck

Just before the delivery truck came to our destination, the driver called asking for money to take stuff up the stairs which was again an unprofessional act. We agreed to pay the $75 up charge for the stairs which was never mentioned from the beginning and thrown at us just before the delivery. On completion of the delivery, the driver didn’t let us examine all the items and ran off saying that he has other work to get to. He also took the balance $35 and when I messaged him he said he doesn’t ha e change and can’t do anything about it. This was not only unprofessional but quiet frankly amounted to cheating which is an attitude that stems from the leaders of Ghaleb. I had to call Ghaleb to get those $35 back and he in turn complains that we should have tipped the driver (not sure for what when this was an all inclusive fee)

Extremely unprofessional and poor attitude and unethical acts like stealing and running off before examining the damage.

Please don’t contract with these guys ever and especially with Ghaleb as he has no moral compass and will abuse you and your family members ,without caring that he is speaking to ladies, once he gets his money.

Move from MA to NC.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVER! We were ripped off from the very beginning. Got our original estimate via Facetime with incredible detail from Nationwide who sub it out to Bristol. Bristol shows up two days before closing to do the move and bullies us into accepting an offer almost three times the estimate. They hold our items in storage(they tried to charge us 1k per month but i refused and they magically reduced it to 500 per until our new house was ready and shows up at 8pm at night for the delivery with a driver who had no help for two hours! By the way all payments had to be in cash. They somehow didn't deliver our kayak but did pick it up in MA. They also damaged the walls in our brand new house.

When we put in a claim vs Bristol we were offered a settlement fee of $65. What an insult after an unbelievably horrific, expensive and unprofessional move.

If I can save one family from going through this hell with Bristol then this review will have been worth it!

Disastrous Moving Experience with Bristol

Our experience using Bristol was awful and therefore we would like to request a full refund. On the day of the move, the driver showed up and did a physical inspection of our belongings and gave us a "worst-case scenario" estimate. For context, our initial quote was for 378 cf which then jumped up to 456 cf after adding those additional items. After his inspection, he told us that based on the amount of stuff that we had, he would quote us on 1000 cubic feet (cf). Once all of the items were loaded into the truck, the driver then revised his estimate and said that we actually only took up 900 cf resulting in a new total cost of $5,760. Not only was this significant increase in cost unexpected compared to our initial quote, but also this placed a huge financial burden on us by more than doubling our base-line estimate. On the day of the delivery in Nashville, we met the driver outside of our apartment building where we directed him to park the 18-wheeler in the alley where we could unload everything safely. After looking at the alley, the driver said that the truck would not fit and grew frustrated and impatient with us. We told him that we had spoken with building management and made sure that he would be able to pull the truck into the alleyway. He told us that we would not be able to do the exchange outside of the apartment building. Instead, he told us we had to meet at a different location and use a shuttle to deliver our belongings back to the building. He told us that he could run out and rent a U-Haul truck which would cost us an additional $900 or that we could rent one ourselves and it would cost roughly $100. Not wanting to sink any more money into this move, we had no choice but to run out and rent a U-Haul then meet, Keep in mind that the driver was getting more and more frustrated with us and kept telling us that we needed to hurry and that time was of the essence as he had another job to get to. He also said that we couldn't rent anything that was less than a 26 ft truck because our belongings would not fit. When we got to the U-Haul location, we asked if there were any 26 ft trucks available but since we didn't have a reservation, the only truck that was available was a 15 ft truck. We were then notified that the location we had originally decided to meet at had changed and now we would be meeting at a Walmart parking lot. In addition, it is ridiculous that there was no communication to the driver about the building and whether or not he would be able to fit the truck. This was shocking when we heard it and we had to scramble to get a U-Haul to shuttle our belongings to our apartment. When we got to the Walmart parking lot, we started doing the exchange between the truck and the U-Haul. This process took much longer than expected because the driver claimed that all the blankets wrapped around our items were his and he needed us to remove all blankets and coverings from our furniture and bulky items before they entered our U-Haul. This left all of our belongings more susceptible to damage and put the movers at a greater risk for breaking anything. Due to the driver’s demeanor of rushing us along, we had no time to inspect each large box to ensure that all of our items were accounted for. However, once the driver confirmed everything had been moved out of the truck, we truly believed everything was accounted for. We were also pleasantly surprised that all of our belongings had fit into the 15 foot truck with room to spare, not having to do multiple trips to and from the Walmart parking lot due to the size of the truck like we were told. This was interesting because although we were quoted at 900 cf, a 15 foot U-Haul truck only has 764 cf and yet we still had extra room. This is reason to believe that there is substantial doubt in the way the estimate was calculated. Once the move was finally over and we began unpacking our boxes and belongings, it was clear there were several missing items, including valuable possessions. Several of these missing items include:

-Duffle bag full of clothes

-A full length mirror

-Bose headphones (which I presume to have been stolen)

-Electric Razor

-Broken coffee mugs, broken bowls and also chipped furniture

-U Haul rental

-Watch

Although we did not choose to work with Bristol from the beginning, we expected professionalism and outstanding service for the amount of money we paid. Based on the several reviews found online, clearly we are not the only ones who feel that we've been mistreated and have had an awful experience working with them.

This company represents a fraudulent moving company and is promoting interstate scams.After this experience, we are filing claims to various government organizations.If you are planning an interstate move, AVOID using this company at all costs. Had I known what I was getting myself into, I would have rented a U-Haul truck and done the move myself. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND NEVER USE THEM!!!
