Great Service!!

Long-distance move from Havertown, PA to Cleveland, OH

Damaged/Stolen Items, not delivered on time as promised

Had a contract with broker, Beacon Moving and Logistics, who then hired Blackstone Movers out of New Jersey for my move from PA to OH. After multiple correspondences and texts, I was told that my items would be picked up on the July 23rd, and since the move was within 400 miles, my items would be delivered 2 days later on July 25th. The broker estimated the move at $2,279. I was charged $4,698 from the movers, and no additional items were added. All the items listed with the broker is what the movers were to pick up. In fact, I had fewer boxes that originally told to the broker. My family of 6 flew down to Ohio from PA on the 24th and stayed in a hotel with the promise that our items would be in Ohio the next day. After waiting for 2 days and no call, I contact the broker Beacon, and representative Ryan King told me they were not responsible for my agreement with the movers and that there was nothing they could do. I then contacted Blackstone and worked closely with Alex. She told me that the moving guys and broker should not have promised a delivery in 48 hours and that my items would not be delivered until at least 5 days later. Distraught and in disbelief as I did not pack enough cloths for the kids and family, I informed her that this was unacceptable and there was something they needed to be done ASAP. I even mentioned that I was willing to pay extra to have my items delivered at the promised time. Blackstone rep, Alex told me she would reach out to movers and let me know. A day later, I received a call from her stating that she made a mistake, and my items were loaded onto the wrong dispatch truck which would further push my delivery date. At this point, in full panic mode, I told her that either the company would pay for my hotel stay and other expenses until my items were delivered or I would arrange another company to pick up my items from their warehouse. She then proceeded to tell me that she would contact a mover who is expected to be in Ohio later, but would see if they were willing to do the favor of coming earlier as it was illegal for another company to come to their premises. Finally after back and forth, and immense amount of stress, my items were delivered on July 27th. When my items were delivered, I was in utter shock. about 30-40% of my boxes were torn apart and retaped in horrible condition. These were brand new heavy duty moving boxes. My fragile boxes were crushed and the box I had labeled "purses", 1 of my luxury purse was stolen. I am missing 2 boxes labeled "new appliances" and missing vacuum. I was so upset with the invasion of privacy and how my items were dealt with as I trusted this company with my personal belongings. I called Alex from Blackstone movers, and she told me to file a claim as they were no longer responsible for how my items were delivered. I will NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone ever. From the brokers non chalant attitude, to the nightmare in communication with the movers, and worse of all, my items stolen, broken, and missing- what a violation!

Blackstone Movers would like to respond to Miss Anna Butt's complaint regarding her issues with the delivery and damages of her move. Miss Butt was picked up by Blackstone Movers on July 23rd without incident. Miss Butt's price was increased due to the fact that her inventory increased along with the space she would need on the truck. Our foreman went over everything with the customer explaining all the charges step by step, and Miss Butt agreed and signed the contract with no issues. After the pick up we received a call from Miss Butt on the 24th requesting a delivery ETA at which time she was told our company policy is that from the customers first available date of delivery we have 30 days to deliver, at no time was she told by Blackstone Movers that she would be delivered in two days. After looking into the matter we were able to determine that she was told by the broker she booked with that she would be delivered in two days, at which point I contacted the customer and asked to send us any correspondents with the person who told her she would be delivered in two days. Her own correspondents were with the broker promising her a two day delivery. I also pointed out to her that according to her, when she was asked for the first available date for delivery she gave it as the 28th which was signed by her and she was delivered on the 27th a day before her requested date. Miss Butt was calling our office on a daily basis from the day she was picked up to the day she was delivered for ETA status, with nothing new to tell her we let her know that once she was loaded and ready for delivery on our end she would get a call from the driver 24 hours before he arrives.
Miss Butt was calling several times a day to have us deliver her immediately and at one point she requested that we deliver her things to her PA address and she refused to pay for the delivery because according to her she should not have to pay delivery if we take her things back. I explained to Miss Butt that if we were to deliver her things to PA she would be responsible for the balance of her move because we would have completed our contract with her and the balance would have to be paid for services rendered. Customer called back and let me know that she would just wait for the delivery to OH as originally planned. I contacted the customer with a delivery date of 8/1 or 8/2 and she agreed, however because we try to accommodate our customers to the best of our ability we delivered her on 7/27 and she called and was happy with the results.
Regarding Miss Butt's claim for damages she was put in touch with our claims office. They handle any customer claims that come in, at no point did she let us know that anything was missing, just damages.
Blackstone Movers always put our customers first and will address any issues that come up right away without incident. Although we understand that issues occur during transport and some things can't be foreseen, no issue is too big or too small for Blackstone Movers because our customers are very important to us and we will do whatever it takes to make our customers happy. Blackstone Movers values every customer no matter the size of the job.

Charged nearly twice the quote!

Blackstone Movers made my move from CT to FL a terrible experience that turned out to be almost double the price I contracted for.

In brief summary, Blackstone Movers was sent by a broker, Great American Movers. I did not know i was being "brokered".

1) I signed a quote for less than $3,000 for 400 cubic feet after careful consideration of the inventory which included photos. I added nothing to the inventory in fact a dehumidifier was left behind. That should have left a small deficit however the driver billed me over $5,000 for 700 cu ft!! The company could not give measurements for 400 cu ft but told me to look at a 10' box truck which is 500 cu ft and estmate from there. I didn't have enough to fill a 10' box truck never mind 700 cu ft! Mostly boxes, table set, small drill, folding bike.

2) I was told, verbally and in writing for the quote that all packing, wraps, tape, whatever was included. The driver charged me $125 to pack each mirror!. I complained and said I only paid $10 for one mirror and $75 for the other so take them off the truck! He said he would take the charge off if I "would take of his guys" which I took to mean a monetary tip, which I was planning, so I said thank you. At the end the charge was not taken off. I had to fight for it later because I was told packing was included.

3) Because the driver / foreman over charged my expected amount by $2000, I needed to get another thousand to hand him after bank hours. No credit cards accepted and forced me to open a Zelle account and charged me $300 while I was on the phone with my bank to make it go through. The first hour was to be included according to the 2 full hours we spent signing papers- which surprised me because I had already signed contracts.

4)) LOTS OF ADDED FEES NEVER MENTIONED UNTIL AFTER SIGNING A QUOTE!

5) After days of asking for a delivery date got, I finally got aresponse on day 15 when a new driver said he could arrive in a few hours. I had to ask him to wait until the issue is resolved.

6) Blackstone is forcing me to pay the over charges unless I decide to refuse delivery, which I may need to.

Apparently drivers can charge whatever they want and the companies do not care if it is ethical or not. Just beware!!!

The packers were polite and respectful and perhaps other drivers have better math than in my case, but bottom line, I signed a quote, the driver considered it a blank check!! As I said, beware!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $5000

This is a lie. Complaints were not given until after the job was loaded to be delivered. At the time of the move a walk through is done in order to provide an updated quote if needed. This is by law. If there were any discrepancies, they would be handled at that time. Once this was done almost $900 was discounted from the price. In route, once items were already loaded for delivery, we even offered additional discounts to avoid further fees as a courtesy to resolve this matter since we are already paying for the delivery. There were options at the time of the move. A contract should not be signed if you did not agree. We are doing and have been doing our best to assist you but can not pay for your move. You were informed of items being loaded to be shipped based on your 1st available date of delivery and waited until that time to say something. We even offered to accept credit card at delivery against policy to help you in your situation and told us no you'd pay cash. At this point, we can not do more for you and you will be charged based on the terms and conditions on the contract. You were already discounted packing which is not included. Please refer to your original estimate and show us where it states packing is free? We care about our customers and are disappointed when we do everything to resolve any issues someone has and we get this type of response. ..read more

Long-distance move from Virginia to Utah

Transport is a mess

This started as a good experience. The movers were professional and handled our possessions with care.Then when they went to transport our stuff (moving from Virginia to Utah) they informed us it would take 4-5 days to get there. We gave them a date that was 10 days from pickup and was assured it typically arrives on time.We arrived after the 10 days and then waited in an empty apartment sleeping on the floor for 2 weeks with no communication as to where our stuff was or when it would arrive. For long distance moves I highly recommend going with a different company.

Your items were loaded on 5/6/2024. Your first available date for delivery that you requested was 5/10/2024. Upon loading, our office has been in communication with you almost every day via text and calls providing you with the driver information and also explained to you the driver will call you 24 hours prior to arrival. Anything can happen in transit and there are other shipments on the trailer. There are regulations we have to abide by such as hours of driving per day. We can never give a guaranteed date for a delivery. We even expedited your shipment free of charge. Please keep in mind, this is a trailer going from New Jersey to Utah. You claiming no one communicated with you in inaccurate. We do our best to accommodate our customers and it is disappointing that we get a 2 star when we did everything we can for you. We have records of all communications. We just couldn't provide you with what you wanted and weren't going to lie to you. This is why the driver told you Sunday he needed 3-4 more days. Many things can cause delay such as, other customers not able to receive shipment, traffic, accident, truck issues, etc. Anyone that can actually promise you a guaranteed date would be lying to you. You received your items within a week of your requested date which legally we have up to 30 business days. Our goal is not to hold anyone's items. This does not benifit anyone.
