Best Choice Moving is the WORST moving company we have used in over 40 years.

They have adequate drivers/movers who tried to put things in carefully and that is the best thing I can say about them. Hence the 1 star.

The broker (Jordan Smith [the sales person] at Eagle Moving) originally said everything would be transported to NM and stored there and then we'd have our items within 2-3 days but we waited over 3 weeks for the delivery, which came from Nevada instead of New Mexico. He lied about everything he told us. We would call them and they kept saying that we would be the next to be delivered. All the while we were sleeping and eating on the floor.

When the cartons and furniture were delivered, we then saw how damaged things were. Most of the cartons that WE packed very well, were damaged and torn and/or retaped, or not at all. About 5 or more were water logged and just broken open. Plus a metal file cabinet was wet on the botom, thereby rusting. The movers delivered it like that and placed it down on the floor with out telling us about the rust and we later had to clean a rust stain on the floor. At least 4 pieces of furniture were badly damaged. 1 of these pieces of furniture "WAS" an Antique over 150 years old and is no longer an Antique, which was my Grandmother's Hope Chest totally made of Cedar wood. One of the legs was torn off of its from the base ( and this had to be repaired to the tune of $100. 1 Dresser over 67 years old,also had a leg torn off. Another dresser, had its bottom half totally destroyed and lastly a small 2-shelf unit's back was torn off. Plus lamp shades inside boxes were destroyed as well as many things were delivered water logged.

They biggest complaint we have with the mover was that they said we had damage insurance which supposedly came with the cost of the move, but we will NEVER EVER see a cent for the damages. We can't get in touch with them because they will not even answer the phone (to us) anymore and nor will they answer an email. And the insurance company they use cannot be contacted.

Subsequetly we filed a claim with CSIPros (www.csipros.org) in Coral Springs, Florida,77-CSI-CLAIM (772-742-5246) Ext. 50. After many back and forth emails and an extensive online claim process supplying pictures and describing everything they offered us $24.00 and asked us the sign something that siad we would no longer pursue any other type of litigation. Needless to say we did not sign this.

So DO NOT use this company for your long distance moves or any moves unless you're LOOKING for problem(s), nor their "Broker" Eagle Moving Company.

I called my rep today to let him know everything went smoothly. Rob mentioned people do not go online and write reviews when they have a good experience. Well here you go. This is your tip!

Pick up was 2nd day of our window and delivery was 10 days later. That was my main concern. Not one company I spoke to could tell me an exact drop off date. I was in the ladder end of my delivery window but I was prepared for it.

All in all I can't complain so here is a 5 star

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4800

Need a 0 star option. First be aware these guys are just brokers. They sub out the actual packing and shipping. But the issue is they lowball you with an estimate based on your call with them, get you to sign a NON-refundable contract with 30% down. Then when they show up, or just before, they tell you it was underestimated for the cubic feet and you will have to pay about double!!! I made them move the agreed upon amount for the contract price, and about half my stuff was left for me to deal with myself! But I have learned this is a typical technique the industry uses so beware. Deal with a well known moving company and not one of these dishonest brokers!

Long story short, hired them for a move from Fl to NY.. I was quoted 3,000 plus and the day of the move they doubled my charge to almost $7,000 dollars! I removed items from the pre determined list before they came and added nothing more.

The mover that came was abrasive, unprofessional and intimidating. I called the office first asking for a refund … I was told by Hope that another lady would call.. two weeks later no call. I called back multiple times and left messages. I then called back saying I would need someone to come back out because my items are still being held hostage in a State I no longer live in and I relied on them for the move because they talked a good game. No response. They have my $1400 and did no work. I will be perusing this further because this is a scam and I will ensure other naive customers understand how they conduct business.

We moved my daughter with Best Choice Movers, paying them to pack up her items, transport, and unload from the truck. They charged us an extra $200 because the apartment was more than 75 feet from where the truck could be parked. They also broke two lamps and a bowl. The worst thing is that they stole items, and when I reported that to them, they said that we'd have to report that to the police, and we'd have to prove that the missing items were ever there in the first place, and that they couldn't do anything about it, and couldn't accuse their movers of theft. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4100

Avoid this company. They are unprofessional and will leave you disappointed, frustrated and in tears.

They are a scam company that will take your deposit and refuse to move you or refund your money. The moment you pay that deposit, they will stop answering your phone calls and they will make sure you are frustrated. Every single one of them are liars - Jason, Austin, Frank, Maddie and Hope. If you must do business with them. make sure you have all your discussions with them recorded because they will lie about every encounter. You will be left in tears by the end.

In our case, Jason Scott would not stop calling us to sign a contract with them and once we did, it was radio silence. the movers did not show up for the move after demanding we pay 3x what was quoted. They cancelled the first pick up because the drivers did not have a street parking permit and told us they would fix it first thing on Monday morning (they cancelled our move at night on a Saturday). No one called us and multiple phones were made to customer service for 3 days and they kept saying they would call us back and no did. It took us 3 days to get hold of anyone to reschedule our move.

On the day of the move. The movers said that we must pay 3x what was quoted to move us. I called Jason Scott who exacalated the issue to Frank. We ultimately came to the agreement that they would move our 1 bedroom apartment for the quote given to us because we needed to move out that day (leaving out our storage which was previously accounted for in the entire quote). Both the movers, Frank and myself all agreed. The movers said they were going to check on the truck at the storage location and disappeared. I called Frank to inform him and he reassured me they were coming back because it was “a small pick up they are working on”. I called the movers(LynxxTrucking) back and he said he was coming back and never returned. I called customer service that night at 9pm reminding them we needed to be out of the apartment the next day. No one called us back until almost end of the day when we had already moved out.

They apologized and said they would refund our deposit as requested on the phone and then gave us the run around with “billing will give you a call”.

Thankfully, our calls were recorded otherwise, we would have been convinced we were living a different reality.

Following our request for our deposit the very next day, they reassured us that billing will call us for our refund and 1 week went by and they never did.

Finally, I got on the phone with customer service last, (thankfully being recorded) and requested we speak with someone instead being told yet again someone would call us back which had not happened. Christy told us we were not entitled to our refund because we cancelled the move which was a lie (the movers did not show up to move us, they knew about it and did nothing). The moment I reminded her she was being recorded, she hung up the phone.

We lost work because of these people, sleep and sanity and our moving experience was ultimately hell.

Dont walk away if you havent signed a moving contract with them, run!

Sleazy company that does not care about your belongings. Terrible customer service. Mover delivering my items told me everything was thrown in the truck, boxesOpen, boxes crushed. I did not receive multiple boxes including an expensive comforter and duvet, pillows, as well as a food dehydrator in the original box. My skis were not wrapped and are now scratched, the bindings were broken off and I was only able to find one binding on the ground outside where the movers had thrown my things onto another persons patio. Broken dresser, dented accent furniture, broken plates and holes through a picture from beaten up boxes. And they had the nerve to charge me extra for the flight of stairs after I was told the flight was included. They also attempted to deliver someone else’s couch to me. My bed frame was half put together, they left multiple bolts and screws out and the bed frame is wobbling. They did not place any of my furniture and left everything to run out as quickly as possible. Two of the movers kept looking at my chest and stomach area and talked to me every time they came into the unit which made me incredibly uncomfortable. This company is beyond unprofessional. I am left with overwhelming stress and tears. I just want all of my things back and my skis to be fixed. I have emailed customer service everyday since Tuesday and have not received any response or call. I will not let this go until I have my missing items and a large amount of money back.

Best Choice needs to get a better name. Their choice of Maps Moving and Storage for my relocation was beyond horrible. Their driver destroyed my furniture using gorilla adhesive remover and took all the finish off my dining room table and end table. My bedroom dresser totally crushed the corner on one end and scratched. 1500.00 dollars of furniture destroyed and they offered 90.00. Their driver destroyed and they have the audacity to insult my belongings with this compensation. Not weather, accident or any outside catastrophe. THEIR driver. Highly unprofessional and strongly suggest not to use their service.

This company is not a direct moving company it's a agent. So the agent have to make its commissions. The agent asked me for the size of the box I gave it to him he told me that I can only have 40 box for that truck. I made sure it was less than 40 box. Come to find out when the people came to pick up the box they charge me additional $500. And they told me that they would pick it up November 30th to December 2nd The pickup was not made until December 19th and I'm still waiting. I would advise you to just find a main movers not a agent. The sad thing about it I had packed all my things and it was in front of the garage waiting for the people to come and get it. The people that came and got it was saying how this was one of the easiest pickups because everything was packed and ready to go.God bless this company but I would never use them again.

When I first booked my move, the representative I spoke with told me that my move would cost less than $4,000 "unless I suddenly acquired a grand piano." Then at pick up, I had substantially the same amount of items, yet my price suddenly jumped to nearly $9,000. I am a student and this is an outrageous amount of money to have to pay, especially without prior notice. When I initially spoke to a representative, I was also promised that on pickup day, I would be given an exact date of drop off. This was not the case. Today (three days after pickup), after trying to get in touch with the company twice, I was informed that there is still no known date of drop off. I am extremely aggravated and I feel that I have been scammed and lied to. I wonder if I will ever see my belongings again. I am basically homeless for the time being.

I recently had a negative experience with a company called Best Choice Moving. They claimed to be a moving company, but in reality, they are brokers. Despite the initial estimate being promising, they subcontracted the move to a low-quality third-party company to save costs. During the move, the company demanded more money than what was previously agreed upon and even threatened to withhold my belongings if I did not comply. When I contacted Best Choice Moving about the issue, they were unhelpful and refused to refund my deposit (Read the contract's fine print is what I was told). Despite my attempts to avoid this situation by requesting a 25% overestimate, it still occurred. Based on my experience, I caution others against trusting the reviews of Best Choice Moving. It's best to go directly to a moving company and never use a broker, especially Best Choice Moving. As someone who has moved multiple times across the country, I can say that Best Choice Moving is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Do not book with these people because they will scam you for your money and then not give you your deposit back even though they said they would. I spoke with Michael and he told me over the phone that I had 72 hours BEFORE my move date to get a full refund of my deposit and now they’re scamming me out of almost $800 because I found found out that they’re scammers and I’m not using them anymore. I had been trying to contact them for days about my cancellation and no one was getting back to me and they all want to just keep telling me that someone will get back to me or someone will reach out to me, but I kept trying with the billing department lady, which there is only one person apparently, she was never getting back to me. I finally got a hold of her and when I tried to talk with their with her she was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. She was laughing at me, talking over me, and having an attitude and telling me that I was not going to get my money back. These people don’t care and then they get mad because I figured out their scam and I want my money back then they said that I have an attitude and they’re not going to help me. How would they feel if they were out $800. They obviously don’t care because they do this to everyone. I see it on their reviews now. I’m so mad I didn’t see it before but please please please read these reviews because they will screw you over and take your money from you.

I should’ve listen to actual moving companies versus this broker. Never again. On top of the crappy communication and constant run around with the less than subpar moving company , my furniture still isn’t here. Been waiting since December 13, it’s not Jan 5. My things have been sitting for weeks for no reason. On top of that this mysterious shuttle fee due to my things being held on a trailer in which wasn’t placed on a trailer. Save your money and choose an actual moving company. Cost me more money having to buy new things than paying a real company the money and having my things in time. They make it seem like you’re a burden to them. How is this a legit company. I don’t want service from people who can’t communicate, check up or give me any follow through. They should be ashamed to be in business.

At first was a bit skeptical, but more than satisfied with the whole out come of my move. I'm the type to get multiple quote no matter if it's having my house painted to getting new tires. I got prices as low as 2713 all the way up to 18 K. I was able to set up a Virtual tour of my home (5 Bedroom w/finished basement) go over all furniture piece, my rep Michael even calculated the space in my walk in closets to get a count for my wife's wardrobe boxes. Best Choice's quote was a little under $14K. My cost did go up, but due to the fact the buyer of my home decided to not take the washer and dryer so I had to add to the inventory at the last minute when they were loading me up. From pick up to delivery took 13 days from Santa Cruz Ca to New Haven CT.

I had an absolutely awful experience trying to use this company. I was moving to a border state four hours away. Initially everything was smooth, first guy I talked to was easy to work with and personable. There was a follow up call with a different man who was rude and condescending, should have decided to use a different company right there. It was a few days before the big day and I get a call from the actual company that Best Choice actually hired to move my stuff called and told me it could be up to two weeks before I could receive my items. I panic called best choice and asked how that was possible since I was only moving 4 hours away, they told me to check the box that I can receive the items the next day and essentially cross my fingers. So the moving day arrives, radio silence from everyone. I call to check on the status and best choice had no answers, there 24/7 line is useless. The actual company they hired to move just didn't answer all 24 of my calls. The moving truck never showed up. The next day I get a call from them telling the truck was there last night and tried to call me. I never received a call from anyone and called best choice moving in a panic. They told me the moving company had sent "proof" they were there. They had pinged their location and sent proof they called me. When I asked for them to send me proof they had conveniently already deleted it. They offered to use the deposit I had payed to use for another move. The woman I talked to insinuated that I lied about never receiving the call, what would I benefit from doing that? Added stress to an already stressful move? Makes total sense. As if I would ever use this company again. Moving companies have to be reliable, Best Choice Moving is the most unreliable company out there. Steer clear.

Rude staff and dishonest company! buyer BEWARE!!!! the gotvour $1500 deposit for long distance quote of $4500. Three days before move date we both got covid so called to delay move one week!!! told thats gonna cost u $500! i said no its not they backed down on that threat then a week later called me to run thru final list to be moved! was less than given with estimate but told me we had more cause our house gor sale and he looked up on internet snd said " you have lots more furniture cause i saw photos of your house "duhhhhhh"! the he "michael " says to me now its gonna cost u $10000 !!!! i said n its not cause yourcompany is fired!!! now fighting to get deposit of $1500 refunded... we are both 86 yr old and we were SCAMMED ! Should named WORST CASE SENARIO!!!!! DoNot use this company !! look at all bad really bad, reviews!!!
