Beacon Moving and Storage

The broker takes your deposit then when the mover shows up the broker says see you later you to deal with the mover. The mover before even weighing my stuff said he wanted $2000.00 more. If they tell you Supreme Van Lines is coming you will be disappointed. By the way, they never delivered our stuff on the date we requested and I'm getting the run around .Instead the delivery guy also ignored our calls. Check out BBB or Google reviews. Unfortunately they didn't tell me the name of the movers before they came so I could not research his reviews. Also they never informed me they were just a broker I thought it was a moving company. They gave me that impression, I miss understood, I never will use a broker again. I am from a military family and have been moving all my life and this is the worst experience I've ever had. My stuff is past the legal delivery time and I still have no clue when it's coming.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!! Your best bet is to move on your own !! The worst customer service I ever experienced. No one could tell me where my stuff was for 2 weeks ! And my stuff including my car was 1 MONTH LATE !! I spent over $3000 for a 1 bedroom and one car move from California to New York. Not including the $300 deposit that I paid to have my stuff there on may 29th !! Everyone had a different price and it seemed like everyone was missing a chromosone when I wanted to know about pricing and arrival dates !! DO NOT BOOK.

I will never use this company or the company who linked me to them, Best Movers of America. The estimate that they gave is solidly JUST an estimate, especially when the people who do the loading don't let you know you have reached the estimated amount as they are loading. They are hard to get in touch with, they don't answer when you call. When they do it's always the run around and it's bad business all together. I did get to talk to a lady, she was nice at first but later she was not. They have poor communication within the company too, and everything was more complicated than it should have been. I looked up Brooklyn Movers on line as I was having issues with them and they have an F rating and are not registered or recognized by the BBB. Not a good idea to use this company. It's a scam and bad business.

Recently I have scheduled move from Florida to Massachusetts through Beacon. My sales rep was Alex. Rep was with pleasing words and clearly indicating the space required for what items are moving.

All these changes once you play the $300 deposit, no one really cares.

Week before moving date: Called them to confirm – Alex said the dispatch team will call me

2 days before moving date: Called them to confirm- they said dispatch will call me before 24 hours

~noon day before moving date Called them to confirm - no response from Alex after this, found dispatch team number and called them several times, that said will call before 6:00 PM.

6:30 PM day before moving date called dispatch several times and caught them through different number, they said they will call back and called me at 7:00 pm saying that the driver will come between 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM on the pickup date.

On pickup date: Called them at 5:00 PM that there was no delivery driver didn’t show up, after several follow up later they said the driver is struck may or may not come on the date,

On pickup date at 8:00 PM: Driver calls and says he is on the way to pickup and finally driver and other guy shows up at 9:00 PM.

Gets more interesting, driver shows up the space allotted to me and looks at the items at my home and says we would need double the space allotted and $5 extra for each CuFeet. Means my total charge doubles.

At this movement I had only 3 days to move out of home and I was totally frustrated and betrayed. I said to driver that I will not pay anything extra; he says he will pick items only fits the space. So I had to decide not to move with Beacon. Driver called someone and leaves.

I followed up with Dispatch and Alex, no one will pick my call or even care to call me back. And nonrefundable deposit of $300 lost. Finally had to uses throw smore items and use Ubox. Funny part is over the course my sales rep Alex had different voice/accent spoke to me.

We had scheduled a move and we were suppose to get the details of what time to meet up with the moving company the day before. Since we had a drive to get to the storage locker, we tried calling a few days in advance to get this information. The woman said we would get contacted by the drivers in 24 hours. We heard nothing. The day before the move, we got 1 phone call. We got a phone call from a person in customer service saying "Hey, the driver is gonna call you as soon as we hang up, pick up the phone." No call. I called the woman back and said they didnt call. She transfers me and I go to voicemail. We had called this location over 5 times and sent emails and received nothing.

Of course we did not get our stuff moved and the company has yet to refund my money. I paid 750 for a service I didnt get and by people who refuse to answer the phone. I didnt want to go public but no one is answering my calls and I have no other option. Ive heard good things about things about this company but they took our money and now I had to push my start date at my job back because of them, costing me even more. Horrible.
