We moved with all of the household effects. We decided on an expensive but well-known company Baltes in Aachen, and we also had it packed up. We have also taken out additional removal insurance through Baltes.

The process of the move was not problematic. The handling was good overall. However, the parking bans were set up too late by the company (or its partner), so that on the first day of unloading there were delays due to parked vehicles, which in turn could not be removed by the regulatory office due to the delay in the parking bans.

However, some items were damaged. When we submitted this to the insurance company, the Baltes company positioned itself in such a way that we did not receive any reimbursement (scratched wall unit, broken table legs). The insurer withdrew entirely from responsibility on the grounds that the company had stated that they had offered a makeshift repair and that, according to the Baltes company, the items had previously been "damaged". So they withdrew to the §451d HDB. The way in which the company Baltes presented it prevented our possibility of a refund.

Our recommendation. Photo document everything. Do not rely on the removal company's presentation to the insurance company to do justice to your interests, the company only protects itself. In the case of insurance, try to take out insurance as new, if possible, otherwise you will withdraw to the current value.

I was very satisfied with the Baltes company. The company was there on time, the acquirer estimated the duration of the offer at 9 hours and in the end it was 8.5 hours. You really can't say anything about that. The carpenter from Baltes removed and hung our ceiling lamps, a complete kitchen was set up, individual cabinets had to be dismantled and assembled, stove, washing machine, oven and sink were connected. We packed and unpacked ourselves. All in all, a great move. The Baltes company is highly recommended.
