Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

Arpin.

If you cherish your belongings and don't want to get scolded for not having certain things disassembled after you were told by the estimator, "our movers will disassemble-This is included in the estimate"- pass on this company. I was also told I should have used another destination to have my furniture stored because this one was too far.. or should I say scolded once again. Help seemed to be hired on the spot for unloading. The worst part of this misery was the crew dented my brand new aluminum door in three places without even bringing it to my attention.. just a little surprise for the family that purchased my house. To top this off there wasn't even an apology. Of course this didn't surprise me after my biggest scolding, for not having my wifes treadmill taken apart which I wasn't told I should do by the estimator. I called the companies office and reported the dented door and was told I would receive a call. Guess what? I never received one. Also I must report the broken legs off my couch and the dents and scrapes on my brand new $900.00 dresser! I learned my lesson.

Long-distance move from New York to Washington

Don't Use Arpin Moving Co.

We are writing to express our extreme disappointment with Arpin's business practices.  The best way to describe them are as profoundly unprofessional.   We made the decision to move from Niskayuna, NY to Seattle, WA in mid-June and were able to book a local mover (Liedkie Moving & Storage, Inc.) to do the cross-country move.  When we signed the contract with Liedkie, they agreed to pick up our stuff on July 3rd and to have it delivered no later than July 22nd.  At that time, Liedkie told us that the July 22nd date was just an outside parameter, the moving truck would meet us in Seattle “a day or two” after we would arrive by car.   That was the beginning of the false information we received from Liedkie – your local agent – and Arpin.   To begin, Liedkie/Arpin booked us on a move without having a driver in place.  While that may be “industry best practice,” what it really is is a misleading and deceptive practice.  How can you book a contract with a customer when you don’t have a driver to deliver their belongings?   As a result, our belongings sat in a Liedkie warehouse for nearly two weeks until a driver could finally be secured by Arpin.  And how did we even find this out?  After repeated calls to Liedkie, we were told it was “out of their hands” and that we needed to talk directly to someone at Arpin.  At this point, we were halfway across the country and our belongings were still in New York.  Daily calls to Arpin only added to our frustration of hearing again and again “we still are looking for a driver.”   Then, as the July 22nd date came closer, we were told that even though they had finally found a driver, even that date wouldn’t be met.  The reason why?  First, we were told by Chris at Arpin that because a second Arpin customer’s belongings were being picked up in Massachusetts after ours and would be delivered to Portland, OR, their shipment would need to be delivered before ours.  Why you went east from Rotterdam, NY to Massachusetts, only to pass through Rotterdam, NY on the way out west, makes zero sense to us.  Another “industry best practice”?  We understand why there would be multiple loads on our truck, but, under the circumstances, they should have been loaded with ours on the truck last and delivered first.   The reason why this is especially intriguing is that by delivering to Portland first, you would miss your own contract’s July 22nd outside delivery date.  This was a completely correctable situation that you ignored by picking up our belongings first and putting them in the back of the truck.   On top of all this, Chris told us that our delivery would be delayed yet another day because the driver had mechanical problems with the truck.  This meant that instead of delivering our goods within “a day or two” of our arrival, and instead of delivering them by the 22nd, and instead of delivering them one day late, they would arrive on the 24th, two days late.   When the moving truck finally got here on July 24th, the driver was surprised to hear that he had mechanical issues because he didn’t have any mechanical issues.   As it turned out, it was apparently better customer service for Arpin to pay us $150 a day for the inconvenience than to not breach its own contract and tell us repeated untruths.  Rest assured we will share our Arpin experience with the Better Business Bureau and will provide negative reviews everywhere we can.   Deceptive and misleading practices by any business will not be tolerated.  You should be embarrassed for your profoundly unprofessional service.

Horrible! Do not trust them!!

Like many others on here, I had a terrible experience with Arpin. They never call you back, and when you do get ahold of them, no one seems to have any sort of information over there. They fraudulently note damages that do not exist, I'm assuming as insurance in case they destroy everything you own. Not just a few, but extensive damages on all surfaces of your belongings. Double check everything!! Do not trust them on their word. If you don't understand something, have them explain it and get it in writing. My driver lied and wrote false damages on the inventory list (thanks Tom Olson), so I lost antique, irreplaceable heirloom furniture and am getting only a fraction of the worth in compensation. My fault, yes, but I assumed he was honest. They tried to give me boxes and pieces of furniture that did not belong to me, lost several pieces of my furniture and a couple of my boxes were completely ripped open and the contents moved around. All in all, please please do not use this company. If you are assigned Arpin for your military move, ask for a different company. If not, you either might get lucky or you might end up with a massive headache and a house full of broken furniture.

DO NOT USE!! Military PCS!! Research reviews from military.

BELOW IS MY MAIL SENT TO ARPIN VANLINES. HAVE NOT RECIEVED HHG YET.
I am more disappointed at the military transportation office for still approving contracts with Arpin Vanlines. I was informed that military has been terminating contracts with companies that perform substandard. I am compiling reviews from military families that have previously used your services and it states the same poor results. Maybe they can get a clear depiction after reviewing several reviews that are all similar. After a brief research and my personal experience your company has recurring problems in these area below.
1. Unable to fulfill what is written on the contract.
2. After being awarded the contract changing the dates of pick up or delivery.
3. Poor customer service.
4. Lack of responsibility. (You'll hear words like "I think it will arrive" "I'm not sure when we'll be able to" "I don't know" "We can't control what happens" "I though I was coming in to work that day"
5. Lack of ownership of situations.
6: Poor oversight of house hold goods.
7. Zero follow through once Arpin Vanline contracts out to local moving companies.
8. LACK OF COMMUNICATION
9. Not understanding the repercussions to military families when you can not fulfill the contracted dates.
These are the main reasons that I seen from the dissatisfied reviews from military families. It is obvious that your practices has not changed since the reviews goes back to 2013 with same issues. I am writing this while awaiting on a phone call from Arpine Vanline manager and from the previous dealings with your company I probably won't get a call so I'll have to call AP AGAIN. I will file a complaint with the military transportation quality control office. Hopefully they can save other families from going through this ordeal.

Arpin Van Line Subsidiaries are Awful! Beware!

Arpin Van Lines nor any of its subsidiaries contacted me until six days before the packout date, despite my having booked them two months out. Then within those six days had two (Park United and Western Express Forwarding)of the subsidiaries of the same company (Arpin) contact me to conduct move surveys. Neither knew which was supposed to have my contract. I conducted a video survey with Western Express. We then found out from Arpin that they did not have my contract, that Park United did. After multiple phone calls and emails to Arpin, Park United called the evening before my packout to conduct a phone move survey, which was a separate debacle.  From this point until the delivery was scheduled I had terrific contact through Kenny Jimenez. The packers showed up late both days, however did a fantastic job packing and were extremely courteous. The moving/loading crew showed up ontime initially without any contact before the morning of. However, contrary to my advisement to the packing team and Mr. Jimenez, the loading truck/crew showed up with an 18-wheeler, which could not fit down my street. After three hours they obtained a Uhaul to move my HHG from my house to the moving van. They seemed very nice and courteous, however, I realized after the fact that I had been duped. The driver annotated nearly every piece of my furniture as broken, scratched, gouged, rubbed, etc. I have dozens of items that arrived in great condition contrary to being listed on the inventory as being gouged, dented, and scratched etc.
The delivery crew showed up, some who were unfortunately unable to communicate with my fiancé or I, due to not speaking any English. Anytime I was out of the room, the team leader, Leonardo, was making repeated advances towards and borderline sexually harassing my fiancé.  They were in an extreme rush to get the job done the entire time they were at our home. They unpacked all of the boxes as requested but were not able to reassemble any of the furniture that the loading crew had disassembled, due to “not having directions”. They were in such a rush that they missed small pieces in the packing paper, dumped boxes onto the floors and into closets, and then stole my Nintendo Wii and some of it’s accessories. They did not end up unpacking all of the boxes, as they were rushed. Leonardo was noticeably exasperated that I was taking my time filling out the loss/damage notification form, and explained his boss was unhappy that he and his team were still at my residence.

The cost is a guess, as my employer paid for it.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to California

Arpin.

Please do not use this company. I am writing this review so nobody has to go through the same horrible experience that we went through. They came and evaluated our stuff, came up with a price, and scheduled the movers to come pick up our stuff. The company made it very clear they could drive our stuff across the company and have it to us by the time we got out there (2 weeks from when they picked it up). Two days before it was supposed to get to our new home we called the company to check on the status. They told us our stuff had not even left yet!! It had been sitting there for 2 weeks and nobody bothered to tell us. They then said it would be sent out Friday at the latest, well come Friday they didn't have a driver scheduled and they said Monday at the latest. Come Monday at 4 pm, they still did not have a driver so long story short our stuff did not leave til Wednesday (3 weeks from when they picked it up). THEN it finally got to CA from PA on Monday and they said the earliest they could deliver our stuff was that Friday. A FULL MONTH from when they picked it up. This whole process was so upsetting and overwhelming not just because of the process but because of their customer service as well. We were lied to multiple times, they put us in between arguments with another company, they made us pay them fully which they did not deserve in the slightest, and they refused to pay for our food. They would only pay 50% of our food receipts up to $150/day which between two people is not a lot. They also would not pay for our dog boarding since they had our crates. They did noting for us and if we didn't follow up with them constantly then our stuff would probably still be in PA. Please please do not use this company as I do not want anyone to have to go through this.

No problems.

Going through my first military PCS move, had no problems with this company. The customer service was responsive and friendly. As it was a summer move (busiest season) they could not tell me until the day before who would move me, but a moving company came as scheduled. My items were taken away and put in storage for about 2 months. When I reached the destination, it was July which is one of the busiest months, but every single one of my items were delivered to me by a different moving company within a week, with minimal damage. Obviously you should take pics of the condition of furniture before moving, and move important documents, valuables, or sentimental items yourself.

Long-distance move from Oregon to Florida

We were appalled by the total lack of care.

We were appalled by the total lack of care shown the by moving company. They never once contacted me. The only contact was from an online survey company that had us record a video of our house. They never went over the survey with us. They did not contact us to tell us they were not going to show up on the scheduled date. I only found out the day before when I called to ask what time they were coming. Over the next two days, and many phone calls on my part, I found out that there was no driver assigned to my move. When the driver did show up 4 days late, he and the packers complained that they were not getting paid enough. The packers took no care in protecting our items. We continue to find empty tape rolls in our boxes. They added massive amounts of paper to some boxes, and if to bulk up the weight and pad their pockets, yet mattresses and many other items were not boxed or wrapped. The truck had an obvious water leak, as evidenced by the water damage on some of our items, including the finish on my wife's antique piano being destroyed. The driver repeatedly ridiculed our religion. At our new house they refused to unpack our items. We have an extensive list of items broken, many irreplaceable. The driver lied about the condition of our items, but we have pictures before the move to prove condition. Too bad the insurance won't dry the tears of my children, which I get to face every time they find another precious item destroyed.

Horrible! Worst Moving Company Ever!

Priority Moving and Arpin Van Lines are the worst moving company! First of all it took us a full month to get our stuff! Then they didn't even have a truck ready for us come loading day even though I booked the day 2 months in advance. So our stuff got put on a temporary truck, put in a warehouse for a month and then schlepped onto another truck only for it to arrive and have to be put on 2 U-Hauls to be delivered to us..WHICH WE HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR! Due to all the moving of our stuff so many things were damaged and I'm talking damaged beyond repair.
Multiple items our ours went "missing" and never arrived on the truck. Come to find out that the multiple missing items were never inventoried by Priority Movers in San Diego so who knows what was done with them. Filed a claim with Arpin for the missing items only to be denied because they were not on the signed inventory list I signed when we left and when our stuff arrived. Like I was able to go line by line to make sure everything was accounted for and packed in boxes for an entire 4 bedroom house when things are just labeled "Misc. Bedroom". How am I supposed to know what that is. It's like the make it easy for them to deny claims for missing items. NEVER AGAIN and nor will I recommend Arpin to anyone else..EVER!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $9500

Official company response

Hi Jamie,

We truly apologize for the delay of your household goods. Although your shipment was two weeks late, and not the month that you stated, regardless, it doesn't excuse the lateness. As for the two U-Hauls, the shuttles were necessary due to the limited access to your home. These potential charges are outlined on your Order For Service.

As for your claim, we will reach out to the Claims department regarding your concerns to see if anything else can be done.

Again, we apologize and hope that you're settling into your new home.

Sincerely,
Arpin Van Lines.

Local move within Florida

Ernie McNab from ARPIN Clearwater area.

The following review is my opinion and experience:

This company seems fraudulent and should not be allowed to operate in the state of Florida. I have moved many , many times in my lifetime, and this was the worst experience that I have ever had. There are too many reasons to list here as I am still exhausted from the move but I will touch on the "highlights".

First, the movers showed up to with one man and one small women. What should have taken approximately 4 hours, took 9 hours. I had to rearrange my closing, and make two trips instead of one of car loads. Then I was told by Kim (works for Blue Dolphin Moving and Arpin) that she "hates" her bipolar boss, Ernie McNab, and that he "makes" everyone pay cash before he will deliver their furniture/items. Well, I thought that was odd telling me that after the truck was completely loaded and they were about to leave.

Then, I was told that my belongings weighted 9,000 pounds, but that she hadn't weighed the truck BEFORE it was loaded. What? I have never owned 9,000 pounds in my life, even when I owned a house much bigger than the one I moved from. I was called by Ernie and he spoke to me like he was from the Mafia, and "made" me sign the new contract agreeing to the new price.

Then, before the final delivery (my things were in storage for 22 days) I was told a time they would be at my house. Then I was told that I HAD to pay a cashiers check. I told them that the CONTRACT stated that I could pay with a visa, why are they requiring cash? No one would respond to me. I called the office again and finally got a hold of someone (Operations Manager?) that said I could pay with Visa after all, but that my delivery would now be at 11, not 8 as originally stated because they now had "boxes" to pick up for someone else. Okay, so now I'm delayed because you have to pick up boxes??

THEN, I tried to call Kim from BLUE DOLPHIN (somehow associated with Ernie McNam from Arpin who was my POC) and I received NO RESPONSE. NOTHING. I contacted Ernie and he refused to tell me what time the movers would be at the house and IGNORED ME. It was clear my belongings were being held hostage until I agree to pay with a cashiers check. I only found out the time of the delivery by calling the office the morning of the move when they finally answered (after 8 am), that I would have a delivery around 11, but that "CASH" was "preferred". The message was clear, no cash, no delivery.

I did not sleep the entire night before, wondering if I would ever see my belongings again!! I am contacting local, state and federal authorities, the BBB, judicial representatives and an attorney!! This man is Fraudulent under CONTRACT LAW, at a minimum. I found out that he's not allowed to move people in GEORGIA, that they had so many complaints he's been banned! FLORIDA needs to do the same, and I hope I help to end his harassment and criminal activities.
Please, don't ever use this person/companies to move. Kim from Blue Dolphin is just as culpable as she ignored my calls and texts trying to find out the time she would be delivering my furniture, causing me major stress!

Also, remotes and parts are missing along with scratched/damaged furniture!

Terrible!!

I would rate them a zero if it let me. DO NOT USE THEM!! I got a quote from Arpin, however my job was moved over to Dolphin Moving Systems. Arpin should drop this company from their business and it's their fault for allowing this to happen for their clients.

The driver knowingly put our couch cushions in someones else's section on the truck. He "couldn't get to them" when they delivered our items, so assured us he would bring them back by once he did another delivery. Phone calls, texts, etc. later, we filed a claim and the joke of a company Dolphin said that our $4,000 couch would only need $100 to replace cushions. We also had a deductible, so essentially they are paying nothing. I tried desperately to get my cushions back before filing the claim and due to their negligence and extremely poor customer service, I am out the $900 for replacements. They also denied the claim for other items "not on the inventory list", which is bologna because they packed our house and chose not to put some things in a box or with a sticker. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU DON'T WANT YOUR STUFF BACK.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to California

Worst moving experience - caution!

I contracted Arpin Van Lines to do my coast to coast household move from Hartford, CT to San Jose, CA.  My household was packed up on June 6 and picked up on June 7.  I was told verbally and in writing that my household would arrive no later than two weeks - June 21/June 22.   It is June 21 today and my shipment has not yet arrived.  In talking to Arpin Van Lines a few days ago, they noted that they can't find a driver and that my household is still sitting in a warehouse in CT.  Furthermore, I've been told that there is nothing more they can do at this time (as they can't find a driver).  To quote an email response "it appears that they currently have assigned to load 6/28". "Appears" is not a commitment.  And, Arpin Van Lines further noted that they can't guarantee a pick-up date for my household from the warehouse or when my household will be delivered.  I tried to escalate the delay and inability to find a driver, but was told there is no one to escalate to.  I reached out to the President Dave Arpin of Arpin Van Lines as well as several Arpin Van Lines VPs over LinkedIn without a response. I was told that Arpin Van Lines would cover up to $150 a day for hotel and food combined.  You can't find a decent hotel in Silicon Valley for under $100.  My husband asked that they reduce the shipping costs or deduct the $150 from the shipping costs.  They can't do so.  To quote, they are "unable to approve supermarket shopping, or pro-rated rents or mortgages." We can't stay in a hotel because it's too expensive.  We've been paying for an apartment since the beginning of June, but can't live in it.  I caution anyone doing business with Arpin Van Lines.  The fact that no one claims accountability and the customer is told "there's nothing we can do" is simply unacceptable.

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Do not use this Mover - slight savings are not worth it.

Everything started out okay, but soon went downhill the day the actual truck driver arrived. He was late, grumpy and was not happy with Arpin or Savon the sales represenative. There is obviosuly a lack of communication between Arpin, the Driver and the Sales represenatives they use. The driver refused to pack a few large items incouding the big screen TV. I had to go back and forth with Savon and in the end the packing guys saw my frustration and did it depsite the driver. At the end of the packing, the driver proceeds to extort me because he is not happy with the price Savon quoted. He makes e sign a bill of lading that includes additional charges based on weight and number of items even though I show him the fixed quote from savon. The driver continues to tell me he does not want to go to Colorado now and wants to pick up other loads. In the end, we had to wait 10 full days becuase they decided to drop off other loads. My wife, Myself and our kids were in a empty house for days and days. The grumpy driver finally arrived and began his normal bad attitude and telling me I should have shoveled some snow on the driveway. I had spent days confirming with Arpin and savon that I would not be charged extra than what was agreed and signed to. I was in limbo the entire time. In the end this organization relies on its non arpin sales reps and independant drivers who are not on the same page at all.

You will regret using Arpin.

Arpin is a mistake from the second you contact this company. If you have no desire to recieve your home back from shipping in anywhere near the same condition the movers left it in, continue to contact Arpin. My wife and I used Arpin for our Military Move  while receiving our home from a Florida holding facility to our home in Florida. After we received our movement, it was clear that Arpin had no regard for anything (art, furniture, clothing, bed, motorcycles, etc.) and everything was in the condition of a mover's nightmare. To make matters worse, the excuses for the conditions were incomprehensibale. As a matter of fact, a large portion of our items that were damaged or lossed "couldn't be proven they were in the movement," and or "aren't very damaged at all." The company will deliberately contract out to companies that cannot hold your damaged articles even if they are recieved wet/dirty/smelly/rusty, etc. At one point the Military department representative, Amy, attempted to put the blame on my wife and myself, for the damages that occured while our items were under their supervision. I was very disappointed with the lower level of education that was forced to be utilized while discussing very obvious matters.       When it comes down to attempting to collect for the damages and losses this company is responsible for all I can say is hold on for a long ride. Those "no brainer" situations are going to make you feel like you're in court defending your freedom. The situations that require a little more attention, they will avoid and dodge in hopes they tire you out with rediclousness. Even after they send in an inspector, they will attempt to juke the high priced damages and place the blame on the customer with any excuse. They even attempted to avoid responsibility after 64 different articles were photographed and sent in for proof of their damages.  My wife and I have been "working" with this company for over a year now on our movement and we are finally comming to a resolve with over $9000 worth of damages and losses.       It is unfortunate to say this company has no respect for their customers, nor our military service members. I can almost guarantee there is only one employee that is at a collegiate level and that is the financial advisor. The rest of the company is below par with their communication capabilities or common sense. If you appreciate speaking to a wall, this is the company to utilize. I regret the second these people picked up our shipment, you will too.

Highly Recommend.

I used the moving company Stinelli Brothers ( Arpin Van Lines ) & I most say they were absolutely GREAT!! I don't know what other people are saying with their crazy reviews, but they made everything go smoothly. From the begginning when I spoke to the consultant Ricky, he set up an estimate sat a price of $1635.00 for my move from Pittsburgh, PA to Jacksonville, Fl. IT WASN'T A PENNY MORE NO HASSLES!! The MOVERS WERE POLITE & CAREFUL. They gave me an arrival date & time for Pittsburgh, PA & a delivery date & time for Jacksonville, FL & they were PUNCTUAL! Everything arrived safely & no damage to my property! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STINELLI BROTHERS & ARPIN VAN LINES!!

Stay away from Arpin Van Lines.

Arpin Van Lines - Tampa, FL - I could get into all the details but I will keep it short.  Because of bad estimation on Arpins part our items had to be split into two trucks due to items from another customer already on the truck.  First truck arrived just fine.  Second truck with half our belongings arrived 35 days after it was picked up.  You make your own decision on that.  Day after day we made phone calls with no return response from the Tampa office as well as to the National Arpin office.  No one at either location could care less about our belongings.
DO NOT USE ARPIN OR ANY OF IT'S AGENTS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR BELONGINGS BEING MOVED.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Terrible Customer Service.

This was my 7th move either from coast to coast or from south to north and IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF ALL MY MOVES. First, my stuff went into storage in Sacramento. The cost of the storage was over $100 more than the estimate. They took many things apart to get them into storage. When they arrived here, they did not put the stuff together. They said it was either the local company's, national's or Sacramento's responsibility. Everybody said it was someone elses responsibility. All they did was pointed fingers and stuff did not get put together. When the did, they didn't tighten screws didn't put bed supports under beds. The things not put together or put together in a haphazard way were: my bed, mirrors, treadmill, stationary bycicle, tables, desk, a couch and other things I can't remember now. I believe the problem was that the driver just wanted to go and get to the next job. Before the delivery, the driver tried to con me into paying a lot more by saying their van couldn't get to my street and they would have to unload the van, put everything is a smaller van and bring it here. I told him I live near many high rise condos and they were able to get all their materials here, which were much heavier and their trucks larger than his van. He then brought the stuff here. They didn't put boxes in the rooms I told them to, they just stacked them up wherever they thought they went. The driver and his helpers were much more interested in their cigarettes and cell phones than in doing the job right.

Worst Option; Argin.

I now have to catalogue all of our broken wedding gifts, Thank you Argin. We were told they would pack them carefully, that we didn't need to stay while they packed because they were professionals and assured us that anything marked fragile would be carefully secured and packed. I now have broken glassware, broken plates, three broken platters, broken lamp-which was one of a kind from a famous potter, and a broken heirloom glass pie plate. Boxes of broken glass, you could hear the broken glass in each box. All the boxed marked fragile looked like they were kicked several times over. In addition they burried boxes in wardrobe boxes, and just stuffed random items into the wardrobe boxes, so much for our clothes not being wrinkled. I guess to save on boxes?..they are a moving company!  The movers in SC also marked ALL of our boxes with the wrong last name, we told them when we saw it and they didn't fix it. How lazy. I'm surpised they even arrived. Suprisingly, the only item that was missing is body pillow, go figure. I'm absolutely dreading the claims process. In addition, the day they were scheduled to actually arive and move our broken possessions in, we received NO communication. The movers said they didn't have our phone numbers. What company sends movers without providing the delivery location contact information? We had to call and reach out only to be told our window was pushed back 4 hrs, then not at all. So I took off work, paid extra to be in a day early and they were not a show. Completely unreliable. WORST EXPERIENCE, we had to use them for corporate relocation, I would rather of paid out of pocket.

The worst experience ever.

This is the third time I've moved and this was by far the worst experience. The company who moved us was Transtar who's an affiliate of Arpin Van Lines. I don't know where to start because they both are terrible. Transtar damaged and stole approx. $575 worth of our stuff not included my 61 inch TV that now works for about five minutes then shuts itself off. They guys just threw our stuff around some of it they didn't even bother boxing up. After everything was delivered and we noticed how much was broken and stolen we had to go thru Aprin for the claim. They basically ingnored the stolen items, blew off the fact my TV doesn't work because there are no signs of visible damage and replaced a few of the items that were shattered into pieces. One of the broken items was a glass shade to a candelabra and they gave us money to replace the one shade too bad for us they don't make them anymore so we have to replace them all. We spend an extra $400 to get full replacement coverage which got us no where.

If you have any other questions please email me.

I hope both of these companies go out of business before they can screw anyone else. This experience couldn't have been any worse.

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

I used Arpin van lines approximately 10 years ago for a move from FL - NJ and it was the most pleasant experience dealing with this company. At the time it was "Paul Arpin van lines". I am dis-heartened to read these bad reviews and can only hope that "Paul's sons do what is needed to make this company a great one again. I am planning a move now from NC - FL and will be using Arpin van lines again because I still have faith in them. Please don't let me down.

Don't use.

Arpin has provided an absolute nightmare. They were late delivering my goods, they lost some and damaged others, but refuse to pay or acknowledge. They have been giving me the run around and refuse to admit their mistakes. They acknowledge losing my Futon but refuse to compensate me for it.

I've spent the past 4 months trying to get what's owed to me, but I cannot get anything from them.

Broken dresser mirror.

Movers from Arpin Van Lines broke dresser mirror only because of one mover's stupidity to put large nails instead of small ones when he tried to put dresser back together. They got so upset that they called Ryan in his office. I filed the claim and after calling, emailing, etch for 2 month I got a ch for $25. Dresser is part of bedroom set which cost $4000. That mirror can not be repaired. Only replaced. I was told at a Glass Shop it will cost $400-600. That is an example on what kind of people are Arpin Co- 'the industry leaders' for 100 yrs - they are a bunch of cheap liars.

Long-distance move from Ridge, NY to Mooresville, NC

Damaged furniture.

We had a terrible experience with our move from NY to NC. We had several items of furniture damaged, garment boxes crushed. They never delivered our 3 drawer file cabinet, which contained very important documents. When we realized it (about 2 hrs. after they left) that they didn't deliver it we called and they had to drive back 150 miles to deliver it. And when they did, they came back with our outdoor furniture umbrella base also. About 2 wks. later I went to use my 6' ladder to find out they never delivered it. We called, and they had to have it redelivered on another delivery. We hired Charles Wood and Sons, who I assume Arpin contracts them out. When we had a sales person from the company come to give us an estimate, he assured us that they use only their own people and don't hire out. Well when they showed up to do our move in NY two of the workers had on "Lopez Moving Company" t-shirts on. Clearly not Arpin employees. And when they unloaded us in NC they had two people from Charlotte NC which is about 40 miles from us. Clearly not Arpin employees. So I would stay away from this company. "Do not hire".

Arpin - Do not trust.

Arping moved us cross country. It was filled with issues from the beginning. From Driver to missing items to lack of accountability.

1. Driver said he didn't trust the people he hired but reassured that he will oversee everything and ensure our move will be seamless.

2. Items were not properly inventoried, driver informed us he didn't have time to do everything and properly inventory.

3. Result: Didn't realize it until unpacking that a number of items were missing, mirror, two tv wall stands, other valuable items.

Response from corporate Arpin incredibly disappointing. In short, they shrugged their shoulders and stated we had no recourse. They cannot be trusted.

Long-distance move from Boston, MA to Santa Fe, NM

Dishonest, untrustworthy, take no pride in their work

Moved from the east coast to the west. After loading the truck they claimed it weighed more than they expected and demanded more money up front, knowing the new owners were taking possession of our house the next day so we had no options. Similar low life behavior when we arrived. Home office behaved like wise guys, making threats if we pressed the issue.
