Army Strong Movers

These guys did a great job. They worked for 10.5 hours and did not once complain and wasted no time. They wrapped the furniture and took great care with it and the walls and floors. Our move went very well and I highly recommend them.

Worst experience of my life! Two women vs the movers!

If I could use 0 stars I would. This was the worst experience of my life. We had to call the police for them to bring our stuff back so they could unload. They do not provide any paperwork. No contract. We Had to demand a receipt. They quote you one price then when they show up with your stuff they want more money than agreed upon.

The manager Jonathan had a very aggressive tone once confronted about previous payment. Lied and said we gave him wrong address when we have a text message proving we sent him the correct address. Not to mention they WERE AN HOUR LATE!!! we scheduled an appointment for 930 and they didnt show up until 1030. Then told us they needed payment upfront to unload our stuff. We told them no we had cash and just yo unload our stuff. The argument escalated after that. We said we would call the police. So they packed our stuffa and left. If this business is so legit. Why couldn't they wait on the police to show up and sort out the disagreement???? But

They took our stuff and ran. We paid them.the money and the police had to facilitate the rest of the move. Save your money! Do not hire Army strong movers!! They are awful!

Great moving experience.

I highly recommend this moving company. They kicked-off our move exactly on time at 6am. Professional, courteous, and efficient. They protected our household furnishing and were careful moving into our new house. Overall great experience.

Army Strong is not too stromg.

I have used this company 3 times and cannot recommend them. First move to storage. Second they moved a safe only. Third, house to house local move.
Issues on the first move were showing up with a 10 or 12 foot box truck when we discussed a 26 foot truck. Although they were there on time it took over two hours to exchange truck and began work. Next, tips were mentioned on several occasions shortly after work began and throughout move. Brushed it off, gave a tip.
Second move no issues.
Third move mirrored the first except work started over three hours late this time, they stated "guess we have to make two trips" because of the small truck, my dining room table was damaged, they were unable to move a desk through a door it came through (due to bulk of padding) and I was tired of hearing two grown men argue about a dang desk and told them to leave it. Got it next day with 18 yo grandson with no issues. Additionally, the last hour work came to a standstill due to one folding padding and involved in a conversation and only 1 out of 3 moving boxes.( paid by hour)
Lastly the bill reflected a $180.00 charge for moving the safe which they moved the first time at no charge and never mentioned charge until bill presented.
I cannot recommend Army Strong Movers due to:
1. Billing practices vague and and seemingly unethical in that a safe charge was added and work stopped almost an hour before they said they were finished which resulted in an additional hours charge. They asked about shrink wrap but failed to mention the additional charge.
2.To state " guess we have to make two trips" was unconscionable, unreasonable, unprofessional and viewed as being unprepared and a means to charge more as I paid by the hour.
3. My desk was left which which I paid them to move. Cost me twice.
4. Tips are based on quality and timeliness of work performed not by asking.
*showed up with wrong equipment
*work began over 3 hours late
*damaged my furniture
*left desk behind without conscious, they did not care.
*unprofessional to be hassled about tips.. work for it.

HORRIBLE DELIVERY..worse ever.

They were extremely rude to my tenant and treated him poorly and talked about me poorly. He left (owner) extremely rude calls that I did not get but my secretary got the day they were to deliver or I would have told them goodbye before doing anything. They were as unprofessional as you can get, made it into a "they" think and he was instructing his workers to watch and take note of how "they" treat "them" and how they needed to learn from it and how I wanted to get out of paying them. I had to call the police as it was escalating and one employee acted just like the owner, a woman, and there was one that kept his absolute composre the whole time and I complimented him and thanked him for how he handled himself while the owner and one employee acted like complete [EDIT] to be polite. I also had some damage on the door and I had taken a picture of the refrigerator before I left the store the day I bought 2 of them.  It really became the ugliest thing I have ever been on the other side of and I will NEVER EVER recommend them and those I called about them I have called and told them NEVER to use them. They acted like it was me and from the moment I got downstairs with the keys the owner that answers the phone calls and has all under him but does not advertise his name (although I now have it) acted like "they " do not speak when I came and spoke to his workers as he was not on the porch when I got home and ran upstairs in a different unit to get my keys. I cam back down and he was here..then it all started as if "they" meaning me from his way of objectifying me was an issue that they deliver but we had to take the door off. Even with the door off it was not going to go through and it would have been simple if he had done what I requested which was to take the door off the refrigerator (just one door to the freezer is all that was needed) and I know this would work as that is all I ended up doing and it went in for a perfect fit with 1.5" to spare. So not only does HE only want to deliver but not make sure things get in the house if he has to use any labor at all besides moving. Part of moving is getting the item in the door. I have moved things from one place to the ohter due to owning a business and property and have NEVER HAD ANY MOVER tell me that they would NOT TAKE OFF THE REFRIG door to get it inside and wanting me to take off my door as well as the top slow closer. IT WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED as the door was able to be opened totally by pulling the door all the way back with the refrig door and the door pulled back flat was the same size of taking it off the hinges since we measured it. He also had an attitude as a friend of mine that also takes care of my properties and is here most of the time to either visit or do many things was next door getting ready to paint..and all I heard him telling his workers when he escalated his anger was that "she has him here and thinks we are stupid and wants us to leave things here so he can do it".  He was here in REALITY to move the other very functional and good refrigerators to another unit as I have sold them and that is what he did but he ended up getting on of the refrig's into the house due to not wanting the owner on my property or his other worker that had quite a mouth on her including using the "f" word at me and then asking me what I was going to do about it.  YES..this is what we called great help. I should have figured it out by the way he talked to me, only wanted cash..started with an outrageous prices of 180.00 for each refrig..360.00 to deliver two refrig's to two addresses next to each other and then negotiated it down to 230.00 and IT WAS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Now we know why his name is on nothing and he is so elusive and does not use addresses either for any place of business.

I called numerous times for them to come and he was leaving messages on my work phonie vs cellphone and did not text me either to find out why I was not calling..which I did not even know until today.  He never answered the phone and then when he was to deliver this a.m. he did not answer the phone either nor did he get back with me until I had to leave for an appt then he agreed to bring it later so I had to get off early for him to bring it and then it was such a horrible mess..also since he wants to say it was me I am really wondering why my tenant came over to tell me he heard them yelling and hollering and he was calling the police as well..and he said, "I did not want to tell you this but they treated me really bad and were rude (the owner) and was talking about you poorly for no reason and then told them he had brought it to the house and he was finished and out of here. He said it was the most unusal deliver he has ever had and he was not comfortabe and told them okay and goodbye as he did not want to hear anymore bad press. Now this is someone I have known for 2 years that knows I am a solid citizen.  I am glad I am moving and that is the truth and why I wanted to finish this up as I am moving to a condo and have a tenant moving here Sept 1st. That is a great thing from my perspective. I am also glad that I have security camera's on my property and it covers the front door and so it is all on camera and I will film it tonight to my phone. I also told the police that if there are any further issues they will have the footgage.  I am so done with this and it is time to move on and forget their name.
I will say the one male employee was amazingly courteous no matter how hard the owner tried to stir him up.  THANK YOU FOR THAT BIT OF KINDNESS! TOTALLY TO HIS CREDIT that he is his own man and was not following the owner.

Unethical and unprofessional practice.

Army strong movers lied to me about the price add an extra man on the job left me hanging at 8 o'clock in the morning without a move saying that they are going to abort the move the owner was very nasty and what a liar he reduce the price told me the movers were coming back never answered my follow up phone calls I rate them not even a star do not use this company the owner lies through his teeth he ought to be ashamed of himself I'm trying to be supportive of this company because it's a minority owned company and all it did was confirm that I need to go someplace else and give my money to other people oh and by the way one of the movers smelled like alcohol so maybe it's a good thing they didn't move any of my furniture come on how do you aboard a move unwrap furniture that you wrap to take it off the truck because I wouldn't give you $1800 you try to muscle me out of $900 more for a move that was only 20 minutes away in the same county in Williamsburg please people don't use them.

Just don’t do it.

After I was given an estimate over the phone for my size house, the main guy came in the morning of the move and told me the house was bigger than what it looked from the road. So, he told me how much more the move was going to cost me. I felt stuck because who has backup movers. Then, I asked them to wrap a mirrored wardrobe in bubble wrap. The next thing I knew they were wrapping everything up in plastic and, of course, the price went up. Aaarrrgggghhhh. They moved my furniture into storage. Once they were finished moving my things the main guy looked at me and said that will be all cash. I hadn’t been told that before and had to go to different places to get cash because my ATM would only let me take out $600 in a day’s time.

DO NOT USE ARMY STRONG!

Couch removal.

I asked for 2 couches to be taken to the dump. The movers were early, very friendly, and were in and out in 5 minutes.
