International move from Glasgow, Lanarkshire to , FL

Nightmare Experience, Atrocious company.

I spoke to the staff in Glasgow many months before I was due to move to America. They seemed kind and helpful, but perhaps their constant requests for updates as to when I was going to use their services were more to meet targets than genuine care? After the rest of my experiences I now wonder. I hate thinking that as I liked pat and Gail. However, looking back there were warning signes. For example I was 'convinced' with clever objection handling to take out an insurance policy on my possessions, even though I was assured that the people packing my things were very experienced and knew exactly how to make sure that they were well taken care of. I did this. The packers did seem very efficient, Although I did feel that the thin paper they used for my breakable items was not what I had expected. In fact, I felt grateful that many of my most precious items had already been packed with and under the guidance of a friend who works for UPS in the damages department. She is well aware of the type of packing that protects against damage. In the USA I suddenly got an email in very poor English from a company called contour. I thought that the first email, because of the poor grammar and wording was some kind of scam. A second one came and I contacted Gail in Glasgow who said that this strange message was from their agents in the USA. After a call to them to try to organise a delivery date I was horrified by the calibre of the agents. I was trying to explain that I would be back in the UK for a while and the delivery had to be before or after. The girl with whom I spoke was rude, abrupt and had very poor English. She 'repeated' back to me a list of information completely at odds with what I had told her. Then she hung up. I spoke to Gail and she had to intervene for me. Thankfully the people in Glasgow still seemed to feel some sense of customer service. It became apparent that I would not get the boxes until after I was back. I was a little disappointed but it was not a large matter. Then Irma happened and the US agents did not get the items off of the dock and into a warehouse before the event and I was charged several hundred dollars for harbour fees on top of the almost £3000 I had paid between the costs of the transportation and the insurance fees. When I got back trying to deal with Contour to get my items delivered was a bad joke. I was made to feel as if they were doing me the biggest favour even considering delivering to me, and they would do it at their leisure and convenience. Both my husband and myself tried calling them and got the same rude, abrupt attitudes in bad English. Emails to them were ignored for days then when we got answers they ignored questions or requests and repeated that I had to understand that they would deliver at a time suitable for their own scheduled routes. The emails were, again, poorly worded with terrible grammar and English. Finally I was contacted by someone who seemed to know what he was doing. The delivery driver gave us a set time for delivery and was very much true to his word on the time he arrived. However, although my contract said unpacking would be done onto floors and tables, it was obvious that he and his very sweet young companion were on a tight schedule so we started unpacking. We found some damages right away and he said to make sure I recorded them. I contacted Gail and she advised me to photograph them and send the pictures to her to pass to the claims team.At this time I had said to her I wanted someone in authority to contact me about my experiences. After several weeks and several emails back to Gail and finally a message and comment on the service on facebook, I heard from the claims department who told me that a claims form had to be submitted within 14 days of receiving my goods. This time had already passed. I emailed back and pointed out that they already had the pictures. No response until I contacted Gail again. Then they conceded that they had the pictures. I filled in the form and sent it off. There was almost £600 worth of damage. Next they asked me to resend the pictures cataloging what part of the claim each one referred to. Frankly I think a picture of a bed with dents and scratches obviously relates to a bed with dents and scratched and a picture of a broken samurai statuette clearly matches the picture of a broken samurai warrior statuette. As initially they asked me to send pictures of the damages and supplied no claim form I think the whole system was an atrocious disaster. I still had not heard from anyone about my experiences and did not have time to spend chasing up, as I had started work. Also, there is no contact phone number for customer service on the website. Finally, I received an 'offer' of settlement for the damages. £95.00. When I argued it seems that the damage to my bed is 'only cosmetic' and not of importance. The damage done by bad packing by the ANGLO PACIFIC packers is my fault because I should have made sure they packed liquids properly. And they have decided the value they want to pay for other items. Yes..I realise now that the insurers are Anglo Pacific themselves and that the insurance policy is not worth a jot. If I had just kept the premium aside and risked breakages I would have been better off. Tonight I am furious as I pointed out that I would have to buy a new bed as the damage has totally spoiled the look of my bed and I have worked hard to make the perfect romantic room for myself and my new husband. The attitude of the claims advisor Fiona was callous and uncaring. In effect she said that as far as they are concerned they have to do enough damage that it cannot be slept in for them to be interested. In other words they can damage your furniture to beyond you wanting it in your house as long as it is still in one piece! Also, I have asked her repeatedly for a manager to contact me about the whole experience and her attitude has been 'What for? A manager won't change anything'. She is probably right. If her attitude and the standards of care and professionalism I have had from this company and its contractors is anything to go by, the managers are probably no better. I would actually have been better off and far less out of pocket leaving the bed, the one item of furniture I brought, back in the UK and getting UPS to ship my stuff. Nothing I have sent through them has ever been damaged.

Very poor service.

Anglo Pacific were an absolute nightmare from the word go:

They got the quote wrong so I ended up paying more than expected.
They forgot about my moving date so I had to live surrounded by packed boxes for weeks.
They couldn't find my flat on 2 occassions when they were supposed to deliver my boxes, so I received those late.
They forgot to supply bubble wrap.
They brought the wrong plywood cases so my fragile things had to go into normal cartons.
They were extremely unorganised, very poor customer service.
It's been an extremely stressful experience.
Do not use them!

Worst Move Ever.

We've just spent £6 500 on shipping costs, and an additional £3 500 on 'fully comprehensive' insurance for our household contents and high-value German motor car from London to Auckland. The car was delivered to me covered in a cement-like substance on the boot, roof, bonnet, and down one side. Someone had taken a rag to it in an attempt to rub it off! Bottom line is paintwork scratched through to the metal, with much of the car needing to be re-sprayed. I've followed the Anglo Pacific claims process, sending them photo's of the damaged car 'in situ' at the delivery location, and Anglo Pacific is saying I'm not covered! When I complained about the lack of response to my emails, I was informed of the company's seven business-day reply policy! This is our fourth international move, and by far the worst one! I will never recommend Anglo Pacific.

My Advice - Avoid at All Costs!

I used this company to ship a tent out to Australia for a few weeks of camping that we were doing and had nothing but endless problems with them. Looking at these reviews now I really wish that I’d read them before as ALL the problems people have had I also had with them.
My bad experience started virtually as soon as I had parted with my deposit..prior to doing this I was told by my sales rep, Campbell, that “we will be able to pick up from you in London at any place any time no problem”. This became..” we will only pick up from your place of work at 7am because of parking” even though I don’t get to work until 9 each day. Somehow I knew were in for trouble.

So again during the sales process I was told that our requirement that it was imperative that we received the goods in Australia by the 19th of December was “no problem” (4 months after shipping and being told 8-12 weeks), I am now sitting in Melbourne on the 30th of December with no tent and having paid a heap of extra charges that weren’t made clear to me at the time of booking (yes I’m sure it’s all covered in the small print).

At one point we were told that Customs needed to clean the tent to bring it into the country which would cost $60. If we didn’t want to pay that then we had to pay them $55 to dispose of it.

AVOID!! time wasters, unscrupulous liars.

Most disgusting company ever. I've just wanted to make an international shipping with Anglo Pacific to the UAE. AVOID them as far as you can! Before booking the service, we agreed that the boxes would be shipped out with the next boat. It was the most important for me. They kept sending me preformed automated emails instead of relevant ones. Eventually, they missed the next available shipping date. When they were not able to give me another date and I arranged shipping with another company, this time-waster delayed to give me the collection address just to lose even more time although I asked him four times.. In addition they issued me a very nice invoice for the collection from London to London. So they kept half of my money. I have never met such a crap service ever!

Hassle free experience.

I was so worried after reading these reviews that I had picked the wrong shipping company. But I had a very seamless experience. It was a consignment to Australia and everything was packed with care and delivered without any hassle at all - and passed through touch Aussie customs too!
I've only reduced one star because in hind sight I should have packed everything myself as half the boxes were just tissue paper. I felt I overpaid on my cubic feet.

Excellent service by Anglo pacific removal company.

Hi All

I hope everybody is having fun at the beaches of Sydney today, though the tempratures are gearing to be good.
I moved from UK, I choose Anglo pacific company over many other service providers as because they have special service manager with an excellent company and customer relationship.
My stuff was all over the house, the profesional team came to my house and gathered my stuff around the house and packed it up and disposed my belongings.
The overall price did not include providing boxes as I had told them that I have my own boxes but I was impressed that Anglo Pacific came with its own boxes which they did not charge anything extra for.
I was also impressed by the courtsy of the packing crew who were very much organised and came specially clean clothes and shoes. I also like there vans which had hard top closing unlike some others which don't have secure locking. I was given notification of the shipment date and time. I could track my belongings and other very easily on their website.
I received my goods in very wonderful state as they had never left. Hats off to Anglo pacific Iam deeply in their gratitude for doing this special service at such a low price.

Be Warned - Don't Use Anglo Pacific.

1. They broke our fragile wine glasses by not putting protective packing around each glass. I attempted to make a claim under their £40 per item, but was sent an insurance claim form. Because of the excess we wouldn’t be able to claim.  By this stage I’d read the reviews, so knew claiming was next to useless! 2. After I told them to quote me to the 25 floor, we had to pay extra to have the goods taken a little further than a house front door to the goods lift.  Even though it was easier (no steps and not even a curb) than taking the items up to a first floor which they include for free!  Mind you, a very good friend of mine who had moved a month before us using exactly the same companies wasn’t charge any extra to go up to a 5th floor. 3. We had to chase them to ship our car from London - which was finally sent about 6 weeks after they said it would be. They told us not to pack anything in the car, so it could pass through customs quicker. But when I finally got the car home I opened the hatch back to find 2 boxes belonging to 2 different people - this must've delayed customs. But we obviously paid to ship our own items which we could have put in our car - whilst Anglo Pacific avoided paying shipping costs on the 2 items which shouldn't have been in our car!  I even found a note in our car stating there were 2 boxes in the boot.  I hope the strangers items we got with the car weren't of sentimental value. I wish we had read reviews before we shipped - very silly us. I really hope they go out of business!

Distasteful.

Note: It was a shipment from UK to US but I am unable to select US for some reason

Summary of the main points:
- hidden charges regarding the customs clearance. Totally unclear and lack of responsibility. They handed you over to another company who extorted me for more money
- my original quote 'disappeared' after I had decided to ship with them and the amount was more than I thought it was meant to be. The quote was stored on a web page which I'm sure is deliberate so they can remove evidence of it as opposed to emailing
- some items in it went missing and got broken. I filed an insurance claim within all parameters but despite months of chasing still got nothing back

Avoid.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Southampton, Hampshire

I was conned & half my property lost/stolen.

I can hardly express my dismay when I opened the last of my boxes in NYC only to realize that my most valuable items and most of my pricey kitchenware was missing. What makes matters worse is that I did NOT choose AngloPacific. I had hired Schumacher Cargo Logistic from the USA because of their immaculate record and my very satisfactory past experience with them. As it turned out, Schumacher PARTNERED with AngloPacific and I had no say in the matter.  We had 2 pick-ups scheduled for the day: my flat in Central London and my storage unit in Staples Corner near Cricklewood. The guys from AngloPacific arrived late, so they only packed my little flat. They seemed nice and one of the men had me PRE-SIGN loads of blank forms telling me that they were going to collect my property from the storage and then repackage everything at their warehouse. I did NOT see what they did. They work under the cover of their warehouse and the fact that they MUST repackage your items because of their insurance and customs clearance. Thinking they were good people b/c they had been contracted by Schumacher, I went along with it. HUGE MISTAKE.  When I complained to Schumacher here in NY, they refered me to AngloPacific in London. The girl in charge of finding my missing items does not give me updates despite my emails requesting them. How difficult can it be to locate the two crooks on their payroll that laid their hands on my stuff??  Because their guys had me pre-sign the blank pages, I cannot claim compensation through the insurance. I'm fuming because: 1. They got paid to move me. 2. On top of that, they denied me my rights through trickery by having me pre-sign blank documents, and 3. my property in THEIR custody DISAPPEARED. CONCLUSION: they stole from me. No, I am NOT a happy camper. If they don't make a genuine effort to find and return my belongings soon, I will go to the UK consulate in NYC and I will file a police report for stolen property through them. So help me God. .
