AMS Removals

Having moved a lot over the years including Overseas, I can honestly say AMS Removals are the best Removal Company I have ever dealt with.

After searching Removal Companies online, I contacted David and arranged a Removal at very short notice, he was incredibly accommodating and updated me regularly.

They moved me this morning, Ben & Matt arrived on time, they were Professional & efficient, placed everything exactly where I wanted it in each room, nothing was too much trouble for them and they smiled all the way even though they had to move large heavy items up 4 flights of stairs because they wouldn't fit in the lift.

I will be highly recommending them to Family & Friends.

I would give 10 Stars if I could, well done and a massive thank you for making my moving day 100% stress free.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: £125

Paid a daily rate and turned up several hours late. Bad traffic due to weather but no apology and had to keep calling for updates.

When the team left they did not raise any issues. We inspected the house afterwards and found 10 marks and areas of damage to the woodwork and walls throughout our new house. I sent a polite email querying why the team had not identified this. Alan, the owner, was very rude and unprofessional. He didn't apologise or offer to help, just kept hounding for the remainder of payment and referring to the t&c's that were never sent. The last email he sent started with a photo of a sponge, was condescending and attempted to joke about the damage. That is not what I expect from a supposed professional removal firm. I am heavily pregnant and have had to redecorate and repair damage which they first chose not to mention and then thought was appropriate to respond with a photo of a sponge and make a number of rude comments.

Awful customer service.

I left a review on Google about this and was shocked by the response of AMS removals to state I am a jealous competitor. I can assure you I am a genuine customer that used AMS removals and have therefore left a review here with pictures of the emails I received as proof.

AMS were recommended to us by another mover who was not available on the day we wanted. Alan was responsive to all our questions prior to the move and gave a very accurate estimate of the time/truck size required for our job, which was appreciated. The movers were highly professional and courteous on moving day. They ensured that none of our furniture was damaged, and re-assembled everything and delivered it to the rooms we wanted, and their services were very reasonably priced. We would highly recommend AMS.

I can't really do more than echo the reviews that have gone before.
AMS were superb, polite, friendly, hardworking, careful and more considerate to the needs of my 84 year old mum than I ever expected (Alan left my mum's recliner chair downstairs when the rest of the room had been packed so she could sit down, then cos it was put in at the end came off the van early at the other end so she could sit down there too..I hadn't even thought of anything like that. Just a small thing but it encompasses the ethos of the company).
The whole day was made so much easier - I didn't expect stuff to be dismantled and reassembled but it was without asking and the guys even moved the washing machine which was surplus to requirements to a neighbour's house. Absolutely brilliant. Can't praise them enough. My mum said afterwards that she didn't think you could still get service like that these days, when people take a pride in doing a job well.

We recently used AMS to move house. From initial quote through to unpacking the final item, Alan and the team were nothing but professional, friendly and helpful in every way possible. After a very late exchange with only 48 hours to pack before completion, we were so relieved that Alan and team were still able to help us move.


They dropped off wardrobe boxes a day early, they brought extra packaging and tape (which came in handy as we'd underestimated how much we'd need) and even helped pack the last few items when we were running behind.


They by far exceeded our expectation and made what could have been a very stressful day much more relaxed. Should we ever move, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them to others.

Excellent service from AMS. We needed to move my sons belonging (sliding door wardrobes, bed, mattresses, clothes, drawers, coffee tables, chairs etc) from Salford Quays to North Manchester and then take some on to our home in Jarrow. We agreed a price & time with Alan and he & his team arrived on the dot at 8.30. They removed all the materials, dismantled the bed & sliding door wardrobe, took the moveables to my sons new flat in North Manchester , then in no time brought the rest to us here in Jarrow. The whole job (including carefully storing wardrobes & bed parts in our garage only took just over six hours and the lads were finished at Jarrow just after 2.30.
I cannot speak highly enough of the two workers who lifted and carried the gear and were pleasant and professional in their approach, meaning the whole job was less stressful than we expected

Great service by AMS removals . I only booked them a few days before I needed them. They arrived at the appointed time and were polite and pleasant. They picked up furniture from my mother's house in Didsbury , delivered it to my house in Stockport and then took some of my furniture to another address in Fallowfield. Then took furniture from there too ! They had a problem with the last drop off and were very kind and considerate when calling me to explain the problem. Really pleased and would definitely use them again and recommend to friends.

AMS were fantastic throughout a constantly changing situation. Our move date was fluid to say the least, but David at AMS accommodated us every time we needed to alter the date.
On the day, the men arrived promptly and talked us through the procedure, then got on with the job in a professional manner.
They loaded the vans brilliantly and unloaded at the other end in a similarly efficient way, leaving the furniture where I requested and the boxes stacked neatly so as not to get in the way. Great service, highly recommended.

Excellent service received from AMS from start to finish.
Due to complications with our house completion date we only booked AMS 24 hours before move.They were outstanding,after my initial phone call at 8.30am, David came to our house in the afternoon to discuss and confirm all details of move.They arrived promptly the following morning at 9.00am and did a very professional job taking care of all our furniture.Unfortunately due to further complications we did not get our key to new property until 4.30pm. Again David and his team were excellent they unloaded all our furniture and still kept cheerful even though they didn't finish until 7,00pm.We cannot praise this team enough and would highly recommend this company.

Great guys, from the first phone call, right through to completion, they were excellent.
Really nice and really helpful throughout the process.
They really did their best to accommodate us as we had tight timescales and they fitted us in perfectly.
They did our packing for us and on unpacking nothing was missing, broken or damaged in any way atall. And their quote also included unassembling and reassembling our wardrobes for us.
A really great job for a reasonable price and a lot of care with our item throughout the whole process.
I would thoroughly recommend them.

Having to remotely choose a removal company for a Manchester to Cambridge move was not easy. The reviews initially helped me to select AMS but the service thereon in confirmed that I had absolutely made the right choice.
The whole move was completed professionally and without fault. The people we dealt with throughout were polite, considerate and sensitive during what was an emotional process for my parents. AMS went beyond the call of duty to meet any specific needs.

Well Done AMS Lads !!

AMS was recommended to me by a work college last Monday for my house move yesterday ! Our original movers double booked and informed us that they couldn’t move us and we contacted AMS at short notice. Not only did they accommodate us but they did a fantastic job. Nothing was too much trouble, they were careful with my belongings and they even took my bed and wardrobe apart and rebuilt it at my new house within the quoted price.

I hired AMS to move the contents of my flat from Newcastle-up-Tyne down to Bristol. They were very good communicating through email and the chap who did the move turned up exactly on time and did a sterling job loading everything into the van, I had packed in advance.  My stuff overnighted in Manchester before completing the trip to Bristol the following day, everything was in good order and again the chap who moved us did a great job of unloading and lugging my stuff up some stairs.  Top notch, couldn't ask for a better service.

I'm immensely grateful for Alan and his team and the stellar service they provided me with during my recent move from Newcastle upon Tyne to Northwich. They arrived promptly at my two-bed flat on the morning of the move and immediately cracked on with it. Despite our having a rather tight time window on the day, and having to dismantle a sofa to get it through the doors, we just managed to get everything packed and out, just in the nick of time! I'd paid for the packing service on top of the usual removal as I was on my own and have a lot of stuff, and I have to say I was very impressed by the speed and metriculous care taken - every item was packed, transferred, and in the case of the sofa rebuilt(!), with zero damage. I can't recommend AMS Removals enough, they were by far the best and least-hassle factor in the move - an incredibly pleasant surprise! Thanks Alan!

I've used Alan and AMS Removals four times now, and each time have found them to be great value for money, accommodating to circumstance and efficient. Each time, all of my belongings arrived in one peice, and Alan even arranged temporary storage for me on one occasion when my moving out / move in dates had a gap in between. I won't hesitate to use them again in the future, and recommend them to anyone in need of moving home. They are very friendly guys too.

Thanks to Alan.Dave and the lads our 250 miles move (after 43 years in the same house) was more pleasurable than stressful.  They were on time both days - packing day and moving day.  They worked hard from go and even had their cuppa whilst working.  Very efficient, pleasant and unflappable, even when they had to unpack three boxes to find keys I'd inadvertently left in a box. Unfortunately, some items would not fit into their van, so they are storing it (FOC) in their facility and are delivering it personally in a week's time (250 miles)! Their quote was half the quote I had from a large removal company and they were worth every penny and more - to be honest we would have paid more. Excellent company. Great job guys!    .

We needed to move offices from Frodsham to South Manchester. We looked into hiring a van and doing it all ourselves, and costs looked to be mounting up ! So we looked online and found AMS removals. Alan picked the phone up, took the details and provided and excellent quote.
Alan and the team were friendly, smart, proffessional and more importantly on time. Excellent communication skills, excellent value for money and will DEFINITELY be using again !

Having used AMS before, I knew that the service was going to be exceptional, but I was even further impressed by the speed and skill they moved everything this time. Both my pick-up property and my destination property had a lot of awkward, narrow staircases, and the AMS guys negotiated all obstacles with ease and professionalism. They took all of the stress out of the move and I can't thank them enough! Will definitely use them again in the future, and recommend them to friends and family as they are simply brilliant!

After calling a few companies for quotes, I decided to go with AMS removal not only because the price was very reasonale but also because Alan made communication and planning so smooth and easy! He was very corteous, understanding of my needs and flexible (not pushy like other places). Alan came to remove my things on a saturday morning - my stuff was put into storage while I was looking for a place in London. The company was quick and efficient to deliver my things when I found a new place. My experience was super positive, so I highly recommend the company. Thanks Alan for the great service!
