Customer service

They lie and lie until they get your money. The customer service manager is very rude and yells on the phone. The sales team practices preditory behavior. I paid 2k above what they quoted me and I took less Furniture then what I told them. They lie about their additional warranty. This is a total scam from beginning to end. Avoid at all cost. Not enough characters to explain all the financial hardships I had to endure. It sucks that they take advantage over disabled veterans in this manner. This may cause my financial downfall. Literally making me bankrupt.

Scam scam scam

Company is a scam. They quote you, take a deposit and then bid you out to even bigger scam artists that turn around and also rob you and steal everything you have. American standard should hold themselves accountable for their quotes and the trash companies they bid themselves out too. It’s been almost 2 months and still haven’t seen my belongings and no one will answer

Bad Customer Service and NO REFUND!

I recently contracted with AmericanStandard Moving Company, through brokers, for a move across the country. They took a substantial first payment from me at the time I signed the contract filled with "legalese" and incomprehensible wording. I took ill and had to place the move "on hold". Further health complications as well as a surge in COVID-19 cases has kept me from moving back east. When I called to cancel, I was told their policy, which amounts to larceny, gives them the right to keep my substantial deposit. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and am disabled. I do not need the additional stress of dealing with a company that feels justified keeping an old woman's money because she had to cancel her move. This is a large firm and heaven knows how many other people get caught in their loop holes. I suggest you deal with another company with a reputable cancellation policy and concern for their customers. Make certain you read ALL the fine print in their contract. They have taken my money; money that cannot be replaced. I am going to the Better Business Bureau and any other offices that deal with shoddy business practices. In addition, the customer service manager with whom I spoke was snarky, rude and extremely disrespectful. Her attitude made me so angry I hung up the phone. She actually said the situation was "too bad for me" and used the word "tough". She needs a lesson in what customer service actually means. Were she my daughter or sister, I would be embarrassed by her attitude. STAY AWAY from this company!!!!!

BEWARE!!! They are only after your $$$

They will give low estimate initially and then will later state you only get so much room in a truck making you pay more. Furthermore, will not give you refund even if it is within 72hours. I feel like we have been taken advantage of and we don’t have much $ for our move and now we are out of $3000 for a move. However, I want to give advise that Uhaul now offers movers for a small price for both destinations. Seriously, pay movers and don’t waste your money on this scam company. Hopefully, I get some of my money back from this company since I canceled within 72hours, but not dealing with decent people, so only God knows what will happen. Best of luck to anyone reading this that has a move coming up. ??

SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This company is a joke!!! Whatever you do DO NOT USE them. They ruined my bedroom, dining and office along with laptop and printer and offered $81 through insurance. DISGUSTING!!! Jacob came across as so nice when he took my money and they movers were 5 hours late to pick up and 2 hours early to drop off. WORST experience ever and cannot get a hold of anyone. This is why we pay for insurance.

Very Unreliable and Trust Worthy

I do know why people in the moving industry do not know how to size out furniture! This is not rocket science. They under estimated the materials, there 3rd party vendors are UNREAL! This has to be the most horrible services, I am not sure why they need to do this, people will pay the amount quoted, but to scam someone for their belongings, is down right LOW! We are all going thru difficult times and this company does not care! They will rip you off, they have no morals or care. The customer rep. department is like talking to a secretary from the 80's: Don't waste your time. They put you on hold all day during the move! Hope you find a good moving company but they are all just as bad! I has to be the industry, they have to compete with each other and the consumer is the prey!!!!!!

Unforseen fees & 3rd party movers

Our move with American Standard was a nightmare from start to finish. It seemed like a really great quite with great insurance in the beginning, but then they kept upping the price as the move date got closer because they "underquoted us" despite the fact that I gave them the size of our storage unit and told them it was full. Upon picking up in NC, they called me twice to up the price yet again, the second time was to charge us for boxes that we didn't ask for, only after my boyfriend refused to tip the rude drivers the amount of money they were asking via Venmo. He did tip them a little in cash, but demanding a tip on Venmo after unprofessional service was just unreal. Next came the call from the 3rd party company asking for my 2nd payment of 3 via Venmo or CashApp since my boyfriend didn't bring cash to pay the movers. WHAT?! Bear in mind, the initial deposit was fine via credit card over the phone, so this was a complete surprise. If my dad hadn't helped me pay, we wouldn't have had the capital at that time to make the move and we would have been out the ~$500 deposit. I wasn't sure which storage unit exactly I would be sending our stuff to in MA, so their offer to hold our stuff for 30 days for free seemed fine. We then tried to ask for a date before the end of those 30 days and they almost wouldn't let us, which would have charged us even more money! We changed the address to 2 miles outside of the 30 mile radius from the storage unit because it turned out the basement of our apartment had enough storage after all, and they charged us a penalty on that. Then came the day of the drop off. I confirmed the time the day before, and they told me that the driver would call me the day of to reconfirm the time. I left early from work with plenty of time based on the time that they had quoted me, while I'm driving, I get a call from my boyfriend saying that we were going to be charged a late fee if I wasn't there in 20 minutes. The driver never called me and it was way before the time we had agreed on. I was furious. Finally got there to meet the truck, and they have apparently found it sufficient to only send one driver and NO HELPER to move our heavy stuff. So the driver (who was actually pretty nice, much nicer than the guys who picked up) had me sign the paperwork, I asked him how much the weight was since there was a calculation of $0.60 per pound of insurance, he said he didn't know. So I "guessed" and put down $20,000, which was the insurance that the guy on the phone had initially told me. The driver basically just lifted the stuff down from the truck, which didn't have a ramp and was graffitied on the side, and my boyfriend and my 65 year old father moved all of the heavy stuff since the guy didn't have a helper. There was a huge scratch on my headboard and dents on my dresser. They never reimbursed me for anything. Also worth mentioning, none of the movers wore masks at all, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Avoid these crooks like the plague!

Out of state moving

This company is a deceptive and will take your money. We

scheduled a move and paid the deposit. I called the day before they were to arrive and was told the driver had covid and nobody was coming. I had to make other arrangements. I have called about a dozen times and emailed to get the deposit back. I am put on hold each time and after an hour-disconnected. Nobody will talk to me. Do not use them!

SCAM - RUN AWAY

RUN AWAY - SCAM COMPANY DO NOT DO BUSINESS! I booked with them several months ago and normally I check reviews first, but was sucked in to their very low rates and, seemingly good opportunity. After I booked I saw all the horrific reviews and felt I fell for a Scam. I then placed a dispute on my credit card deposit since I also could not locate my receipt after I booked with them. I finally received a confirmation from Cardinal Van Lines stating that the move was still on and that they are not a scam. Thus, just after an hour of placing the credit card dispute, I reversed my dispute. I received the letter from my credit card company showing that the dispute was resolved, and forwarded the letter to Cardinal (or American Standard as they told me they were Cardinal, but when Cardinal contacted me as you will see below, they then said they were American....so who knows what is the truth).

They acknowledged receipt of the letter and did see my screen shot in my bank account showing that they were rebilled and confirmed the move was still on. Just yesterday, a few days before the actual move was scheduled (and about a month and a half since the original dispute), they contacted me saying that I needed to wire them the money because they had been trying to contact my bank and get the rebilled money, but to no avail, and that in order to prevent my move from being cancelled I had to WIRE or ZELLE them the money. I pushed back and said I had already been rebilled for it and that I show it was already paid. They said they could no longer accept the letter and screen shot of my payment as being acceptable, and the girl became extremely pushy, claiming they never got the money. She kept saying that they had tried over and over to collect from my credit card company, but they never responded and that they had until the end of THAT day to respond to the original dispute, or they lose the money. I asked them why they waited so long to get a hold of me to try to resolve this and waited only on the final 45th day to then call me and pressure me that I had to wire them money now? All she kept saying is that they were trying to work with my credit card company, but after days and days of trying to contact them, they were never successful in getting the money. Therefore, the only way to resolve the issue and prevent my move from being cancelled was for me to WIRE them the money.

This was sounding very suspect to me, so I pushed back telling them it made no sense since the money has already been rebilled, I sent them the screen shot showing that they were paid, and why were they pushing me to send them money via WIRE and not asking for me to just use a credit card again? I then informed them that I was on vacation with my family standing in line to DOLLYWOOD and would not be able to send them any money at that moment. The girl then said I could get the ZELLE App on my phone and send them money. I told her I was not able to do this at that moment as I'm with my family on vacation. Within minutes, I received an email stating they cancelled my move and that the only way to reschedule was to send them money.

So, while at Dollywood, trying to enjoy my vacation, I contacted my credit card company immediately regarding the issue. They reviewed the entire situation and said that they show that there had been NO COMMUNICATION from them to claim the money that has been sitting there for 45 days. She explained that when a dispute is put in and then cancelled and rebilled, the company has up to 45 days to claim the money. Since it seems they didn't claim the money in time, they were pressuring me to send them the money. However, they also said it sounded suspect since all they had to do by the end of THAT DAY, was go in and claim the money which has been sitting there for some time. It would only take minutes, yet they never claimed it. Thus, for them to pressure me in WIRING them money that day, screamed SCAM to them as well. They also agreed that they could have taken another credit card payment, instead of Zelle or Wire. Thus, we put a dispute on that payment as we agreed it screamed fraud.

When I emailed the company back to let them know that the credit card company shows NO INDICATION that they tried to communicate with them or even claim the money, all they said back was that they were going to dispute my dispute unless I wire them the money. She also said that they would let my credit card company know that I CANCELLED THE MOVE AND THEREFORE THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO KEEP MY DEPOSIT! I told them that I DID NOT cancel my move, they cancelled, and that my bank has all the information in their records showing that their company DID NOT CLAIM the money in 45 days, that their company had NO COMMUNICATION with my bank whatsoever. Thus, they were going to have a tough time fighting that dispute. Since then, I haven't heard from them. THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!
