Long-distance move from Rochester, NY to Tempe, AZ

Worst moving company!

WORST COMPANY EVER, DO NOT USE THEM!! If I could give them zero stars I would. After multiple delays they finally showed up at 2 in the morning to move my stuff, made me leave items behind they didn't have room for, charged me much more than my quote and had TONS of damage to my stuff upon arrival. I went through a lengthy claims process and was offered $62 for well over $1000 worth of damage but agreed nonetheless and never even received that! Which was a signed legal contract. Contacted BBB and they won't respond to them either. I won't be using them for another move I have this year and highly recommend no one else use them either!

Local move within New York

Terrible - Scammers - Rude.

DO NOT BOOK WITH AMERICAN POWER MOVING
I REPEAT
DO NOT BOOK WITH AMERICAN POWER MOVING
Read all the way to the bottom where one of the movers was ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY HURTING ME.

THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!
I have never in my life dealt with more unprofessional people.

I only had an email confirmation (see attached)
I never saw a contract until it was too late.
When I called Mike, he confirmed $270 for 3 hours.
Period.
What he failed to tell me was that they charge $95 per hour after that plus tax.

I was wondering why the movers worked so slow.
They parked, waited in the truck.
Came up to my apartment to have a look.
Went back down to look for parking again.
They didn’t actually start moving until about 30 minutes after they arrived.

I got to the new apartment and waiting another 30 minutes for them.
I figured, they were being extra careful driving.

It wasn’t until they got to my new place that they pulled out the contract and showed me that I owe $600!!
What?
Excuse me?
What?

I called Mike and argued with him that I didn’t’ know this.
He never told me on the phone or on email.
He didn’t care.
He told them to lock up my stuff and take it to storage and they’ll delivery it when I pay.

I had no choice.
ZERO
So that’s why they’re sooooooo slow!
What a scam.

I paid the money and got in the truck and helped them move faster.
Had I known this, I would have shopped around.
I would have helped in the beginning.
I would have done something!
I’m a petite female. And I feel like I was faster than them.

In the end, I had a feeling they wouldn’t put my bed back together.
So I waited by the truck and asked them if they were going to put together my bed.

Nope.
They said I paid until 8 and it was 7:52.
I said, well both of you work for 8 minutes and put together what you can in 8 minutes.
He didn’t want to.
He said he didn’t care.
He wasn’t a builder.

SO I GOT IN THE TRUCK.
AND I WOULDN’T LEAVE UNTIL THEY GAVE ME MY 8 MINUTES TO PUT MY BED BACK TOGETHER.
I’m not sure why they took it apart in the first place. It’s basically just a frame and headboard. I don’t know why they just didn’t take the headboard off.
Oh I know why. BECAUSE THEY’RE SCAMMERS AND WERE SCAMMING MORE TIME!
I wouldn’t have minding putting it back together myself but I didn’t have instructions or tools.
So my only option was to ask them to finish the job they started.

I waited patiently while they called their boss.
Complained to me.
Told me they didn’t care about the bed.
You name it, it happened.

INCLUDING ONE OF THE GUYS TRYING TO CLOSE THE DOOR ON MY FOOT.
UMMMMM ----- THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED ----- HE WAS HURTING ME

But I didn’t give in, until they gave me the 8 minutes I paid for.

I REPEAT
DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM
DON’T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU!!

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Texas

Negative 5 stars. Horrible. The worst company EVER.

This company is the worst! The lie, never answer the phone, and lose your stuff and doesn't care at all because you still have to pay them. Didn't show up at time promised. Promised my stuff would be there on July 28. My stuff didn't show up until August 12! We called almost everyday. He never answered his phone or returned a call. If he did answer he would lie just to get you off the phone. When my stuff was delivered everything was dirty and scraped and scratched. He had a rented U Haul pile to the ceiling with stuff all just thrown in. We were missing a large mirror that attached to a vanity table. I paid him in full and when I asked where the mirror was he just said file a claim with my insurance. He tried to get more money because there was a elevator! He is a liar and a thief. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. He is the absolute worst.
