Long-distance move from New Jersey to Nevada

Scam and Fraudulent.

Scam and fraudulent company!

I hired this company to do a long distance move from New Jersey to Las Vegas, Nevada. I was originally quoted $3500 for the move. Then I increased the items and was given a new quote of $4600. The day they packed everything into the truck that they rented and slapped a paper sign taped to the door with their company name they have me a new bill of $8700. I was shocked and told them to cancel and give me back my stuff. They said they would charge me regardless of I cancelled or shipped it. They told me I better have the other half of the money in cash upon delivery. I was told by the sales person Shaun that I could use my credit card for the entire transaction originally. I asked the guys why the ridiculous amount and they said they charge by cubic feet. I was told by the sales person everything was charged by weight. I didn't have much of a choice so I shipped the items me tried to call this company. I called this company at least 10 times a day for a few days trying to reach someone. As soon as they asked for my name I was hung up on every single time. When finally the furniture and my items were delivered a few of my furniture was badly damaged. The whole time these guys were unpacking my stuff they kept telling me there better be a good tip for us after we are done. Wow I was shocked. I tried to file a damage claim but still I keep getting hung up on. I have contacted a few other legitimate moving companies and they all say that the max they would charge would be around $4500 not $8700. My furniture and all my stuff don't even come close to the $8700. I could have bought all brand new stuff for that amount and would have been happier than paying these guys the $8700. Since then I have contacted my credit card company disputing the charges because I was being scammed by this company. Just yesterday I receive a very threatening e-mail from American Moving Masters saying they will call the police and file charges against me. Really, wow a scam company pulling another scam by trying to file charges against me with the police. I will see them in court very shortly and have contacted the Attorney General of New Jersey.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Nevada

Scam and Fraud.

I went on the internet to get a quote for moving services and this company started to call me over 10 times or more a day trying to win my business. Finally I used this company to move all my stuff. I was originally quoted $3500 for everything I wanted to move. Then I added a few more items and was given a new quote of $4600. When I spoke to the agent sale person I gave him very detailed measurements and information about all my items and furniture. I was told that with the beds that the box springs were included and that they charge by weight. By the time they came and packed everything up, the moving guys gave me a new bill and stated they charge by cubic feet and not by weight. I was given a new bill of over $8700. For $8700 charge my stuff was not even worth that much. I asked why and they said the sales person made a mistake and that box springs were not included. They also charged me for one entertainment stand that was all glass and charged the one furniture into 3 pieces of furniture for one item. I told them to unload the truck and I was not going to pay that new amount and they told me they would still charge me half of that amount even if they unloaded all my stuff back into my house. I tried to call this company many times that same day and tried calling them many times after that and I was constantly hung up on right after they asked for my name. I was also told that I could use my credit card for the entire transaction for the moving services from when I originally spoke to the sales person, but the guys that day that packed up my stuff told me " You better have cash upon delivery." When my furniture and items were delivered I questioned the guys about why my dining room table was damaged and they told me to file a claim and that they were not the original guys and they were also contracted out by American Moving Masters. I tried to file a claim by calling them and finding out how to file a claim and was hung up on again. How can these guys still remain in business for all the scams and fraud they are committing to the consumer. Since then I have tried to dispute my credit card and just received an e-mail from American Moving Masters threatening that they would contact the police about me. How can an original quote of $3500 then $4600 go to over $8700. Now they have been still trying to call me now with a blocked number all day long hoping that I would answer so they can threaten me again. I will see these guys in court very shortly.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Texas

Horrible, dishonest and cheat company.

This is the most cheating and dishonest company I have met. They call you assuring and promising several things to win your business and then once they get that deposit money from you, they will care the least.

I was contacted by them when I inquired about moving on a portal. The person name "Jack Levy" gave me all sorts of assurances and also told me that he would be available until the time I finish my move. But I was surprised that soon after I made that deposit payment to them, this person was off the scene. They would not even connect me to him when I called, and told me that my case is now handled by some other department as Jack is only there for order booking. I was like ok. But then slowly, they started deviating with every little promise they made as the people who were handling my case changed from time to time.

They gave me an online quote, but that quote was a sham and way away from reality. Even after telling them exactly what I had, they gave me a low quote to win my business and later at the day of picking my stuff measured more than twice the quote they gave me. I kept on insisting them to send someone for an in house survey. They led me believe that it was not necessary and their software is pretty accurate with measurements. They quoted me one price when booking my order but later hiked my price because a day before the move when they went over my inventory, I had taken some stuff off the inventory list. However, when on the day of moving when I had more than the volume they had quoted me for, they were not willing to drop my price. Their pickup team was super rude and nasty. The supervisor of the pickup team wanted me to give him 300$ tip in lieu of him charging me less volume of goods (in any case I would be on the loosing side).

My stuff came in 1 week late causing a lot of inconvenience for my family with a 8 month old baby with us. When the stuff came, it had a big wardrobe missing, my $350 center table broken to pieces. The boxes were so poorly packed (half empty) which caused my volume to go up. I followed up with their dispatch team with all the issues I had. They agreed to give me a compensation and once we settled for an amount, they were supposed to send me some paperwork. As expected, they never picked up my call after that and till date I am waiting for my refund.

Its a sincere advise, please do not go with this company. They will suck the hard earned money out of you. I payed about $2000 more than I was supposed to pay for my move from Jersey to Texas. Never trust a company who gives you a phone estimate and does not send someone for an in-house survey to have a look at your stuff.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Scam Artists.

Stay far away from this company!  They started off really professional before any money was paid or given as a deposit.  They called sometimes 4 to 5 times a day to ask if we were ready to move and that we were in good hands.  Once the day of the move occured, you never hear from them again.  When the move was made, we found  out that a lot of our furniture was damaged and we even have boxes missing as well as a whole end table that belongs to a living room set.  For the last 2 weeks we have been trying to contact anyone at American Moving Masters and they keep giving us the run around.  The manager will not answer our calls and the people who answer the phone refuse to give us their names.  Now we have an apartment full of damaged furniture and don't know what to do with it because we're not sure if anyone needs to take a look at it.  As it looks right now, we are out of a lot of money.  They told us that the move was going to cost $1523.00, it ended up costing us $3500.00.  Talk about bait and switch!!

All of these guys should be ashaned of themselves in Fort Lauderdale call center saying they would help every step of the way.  Raymond Douchette, Frank, John Halter, Sean a manager in sales.  We have been scammed by the best!!

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Pennsylvania

Got cheated.

I declared all major items and packed myself 80% of it. I had only one kid bed, which I had disassembled myself. I got a quote for some $1600. American Moving Masters came on a day, took my signatures on a lot of papers before packing of miscellaneous stuff. An item like packed box of slow cooker was made the same as the sofa. Before leaving, when all the paraphernalia was loaded in truck, they told me that the actual coast was more than double. I didn't want an argument because I was to leave for the next place. Got robbed absolutely.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to New York

Scam!

This moving company tries very hard to seem professional but trust me they are just as bad as another CL scam. I was originally quoted $1100 "an over estimate " for my move. After "measuring" the cubic footage my total bill came out to $2200. This company assured me that there would be no hidden fees and yet. They charged $3.00 for each roll of tape that they used to wrap our items. $75 for ea additional flight of stairs . They said that they had their own trucks and staff and yet the truck was a third party truck and so were to movers. The truck even required a jump start before we took OFFF !! Please use another company these people are horrible!
