On the day of the I was quoted from Broker (American Movers Direct LLC)

Estimate of 3195.44. When the movers Super Move USA came I had to give them $17500.00 To even start to load.When I received the items I had to give them another $17500.00 before they would unload. Only one item was wrapped of all my furniture everything had chips and scratches all over plus cracked TV ,dinning chair broke in half, about 1/3 of my items are missing . Now the moving is stone walling on the claim

Beware, don’t trust American Movers they don’t move your stuff

I signed on to move with American Movers. Tiffany Scott roped me in and was as nice as could be. We received a good faith estimate. Before pick up we sent a box count and photographs of everything we had. Another good faith estimate was provided and it was higher than the first so we got rid of a magnitude of items and had the exact box count and the exact items on the estimate. When movers arrived in San Antonio they claim we were over even though we had EXACTLY what they told us on the second good faith estimate. We had to pay double what they said or they would not move us. We had jobs to start so we were stuck. We arrived in Arizona and called and sent several emails only to be informed that because we were 28 miles under 1000 we would have to wait about 14 days for delivery. We continually called and sent emails, no reply. We will email when we are headed your way. One evening the doorbell rand around 6:30 pm and they said we are the movers. They asked for and additional 3,500 or would not empty the truck. We scrambled at that late hour to pull funds together. They had other peoples stuff on the truck and threw them in our driveway. The worst part is yet to come. Our furniture arrived severely damaged. Leg completely cracked off dresser. Bed stuck with packing tape Ashley furniture). The bed had cracked off wood and deep gouges. Our kitchen table arrived completely unwrapped with deep scrapes, coffe table had a tough so deep we can’t use it, dishes were smashed and items are missing, a large toolbox was gouged, scraped to all heck, refrigerator arrived with no handles. The list goes on and on. We reached out to get help with our damages. We were given an email that doesn’t exist. I tried it over 7 times. I called again this morning but the phone number they gave me has a full mailbox. Other is in Spanish which I speak fluently and customer service never called back. The driver who came to drop off said man your stuff is really messed up. See what they do is subcontract you out to transtusmovers, which I never agreed to then don’t compensate or take care of all the damages. Nobody for American Movers has called, nobody has responded and so we arrived here waited two weeks for severely damaged furniture and missing items. To add insult to injury, the movers left stuff for another family who paid them in our driveway. Tiffany, Brandon, Richard, Jason and Justin couldn’t care less about you. Once they rope you in you are done for. I have pictures of all the damages and my kids watched them throw things on the driveway. Not only that my kids and I helped them move things inside. As of today not one reply from American Movers Direct. My packed boxes were smashed open and mixed with other people’s stuff.

So be very careful, as I said they will get you, you’ll pay deposit then they will give another quote and even with pictures and accurate box count they charge more. Then when they deliver (unannounced-driver said I had No address or phone number) the stuff that arrives is damaged and they won’t to anything but provide a bogus email, and a number that does nothing. Elmer in San Antonio doesn’t care for people’s items and Jason, Brandon, Richard and Tiffany won’t respond once they get your money.

We will address each issue separately so your getting the same answer as what was given to you by customer support. We will also list all contact emails for my moving reviews to review.
Unfortunately, you have Outlook you could have of course messaged us back and we would of told you through email how to correct the problem with why you cannot send an email to your carrier. However, This is not the case we always want to hear feedback from clients, except the way you feel about something isn't facts. You use Outlook for your email and that is blocking you from sending or receiving emails from this address until you add them to you email contacts and approve them. We did not lie to you we told you all of the necessary steps to take to file the claim we also gave you the carrier's contact and insurance information directly to their provider with the proper contact for both the Bond and Insurance. You would need to speak directly with them. The insurance and bond information also confirmed they are active with insurance and you are just not able to send any emails to them because of the outlook email. We also had issues sending you emails from the first time Tiffany spoke to you. No one lied, no on "roped you into anything". Every single email you have sent customer service has been promptly responded to with accurate information. We are not the company that transported the items meaning we cannot file claims on your behalf it needs to be done with you and your carrier. At the time of signing your estimate, you also signed a bill of lading that had the direct carrier assigned to your job listed on your BOL. You had that information on the first day you scheduled your move with us.
Standard delivery spreads are listed in your email however the driver by law has up to 31 business days as stated in both the estimates given by us and your contracted carrier to deliver. Obviously, there are many different factors to deliver as far as the distance your going, the amount your move, the dates you selected, and the driver's job's before and after your pickup. This is why we can only give ranges in no way shape or form was any exact date for delivery guaranteed. At no point are you forced to sign any estimate? We went based on the original inventory list you did with Tiffany. You then get another chance to before loading update that list before the movers arrive. You then sent pictures of boxes needing to be added. Those items were added to your inventory already exceeding the space originally reserved. We had to remove the driver assigned and assign you an entirely new crew to accommodate the size of the shipment. When the movers arrived they did a walk-through with you and listed the condition of each item prior to loading the truck and again you added additional items. You agreed to those charges and signed paperwork never disputing what price the movers gave you. We are your broker even stated in your estimate if for any reason the shipment price increases please contact our office immediately and we can review the price difference to ensure it was correct. You signed the drivers loaded and we did not hear anything from you until July 4th. We then again explained delivery time frames and windows for drop off. I think it's extremely racist in 2023 to say your driver spoke Spanish because you were able to contact the broker if you truly did not understand. Moving is not an easy job for anyone and sometimes we are short on crews I can still insure all of the movers that come to your home are able to be bonded and insured under the US DOT. Below I will show that not only did everyone here assist and respond to all your requests and needs but we did it with the upmost respect to you. Unfortunately, it was no reciprocated. So as you said we "had your money" as you said yet emailed and responded to you this entire time up to today!

We would need you to contact the moving company’s insurance and have them work on claims with you direct as we are your broker and did not transport the goods, our valuation will not cover this. You would need to speak directly with the insurance company. Below is a list of contact for everything you will need. We have a total of 475 pickups before the 1st of Aug. and I have 3 people in office this is why we have an answering service so that we can asset everyone who needs something however we cannot call to discuss anything about the claims with you. We have backlisted your carrier from picking up any further jobs from this brokerage and dismissed them from the carrier list.
We did test all of this information and all is accurate and working. We also suggest you filing a claim with the US DOT FMCSA and explain your situation and file a direct complaint against them. I will also include that number for you.

Timing was also efficient!

From start to finish this was an amazing crew. The representative who came out to give me an estimate, the office help who called to check on how things were going, and how it went afterwards, and the crew was amazing. They were funny; they were hard-working; they didn’t waste a minute. They knew I could not reach up to get things down and they reminded me of that and they checked in on what I needed packed, where I needed to put in the new house, and amazing Kuba unpack the truck totally by himself. Timing was also efficient and reliable

Significant change of price

I had a disappointing experience with American Movers Direct. During

the moving process, they lied about the costs associated with the number of boxes and items I had. It's disheartening to deal with a company that lacks transparency and honesty in their dealings. It's hard to fathom how they can sleep at night knowing that they consistently engage in dishonest practices.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise against using American Movers Direct. I wouldn't use this company again.

This is my second move in 4 years both with full service being paid for. First one was great, this one was terrible.

1) They didn't label any of the boxes, just filled them and taped them shut.

2) scratched the crap of of new house wood floors and put a hole in my wall at my former house.

3) told them the treadmill was a priority because I wouldn't be able to move it at all. They took it apart to get it out of the house and legitimately lost an entire arm to it rendering it useless.

4) the workers are overworked, came from another job and arrived to my house an hour late. Then I found out they were scheduled for two additional jobs on the same day. They left my house at 8 or 9 at night to go to another job. I will say that aside from the above issues they were nice people.

In the end I regret using them, I should have gone with a local company or done it myself.

Oh and the quote was about half of what I ended up paying so watch out for any additional cubic feet.

As for the scheduling and overworked crew, we acknowledge the challenges of peak moving season and the scarcity of available labor in certain industries. Nonetheless, we will strive to ensure better time management and staffing to avoid such delays.
The moving crew in on season does work extremely hard to ensure all the moves scheduled are serviced. In moving season due to lack of people wanting to work at all epically doing manual labor is a hard industry to hire workers for. Labor that involves working outside or construction transportation are scarce and unfortunately that is how it is in American not just this crew.
Regarding the quote, you received a binding estimate based on the article list of items and services you requested like packing. we apologize for any discrepancies, and we'll ensure clearer communication about additional charges for cubic feet in the future.
