These guys are nothing short of "thieves with license"! They sweet talk you until you pay the deposit! when the non-english speaking, idiot looking mover comes over for a pick up, he will tell you one thing "we need more money or we leave"! The mover gave me a reason, the company after a week of not responding gave me another set of reasons and they gave the BBB a third set of reasons. I filed a small claims case - which I didn't follow through on due to work & family. NEVER USE THEM. THEY ARE LIARS CROOKS SCAMS AND [EDIT].

Service cost: $2300

The very first issue was an estimate of $1200 from Paul (long distance move) and when they arrived they upped the price to $2998. What am I supposed to do when we need to get out of our apartment that day?
The pickup crew was friendly and caring. They explained that the truck was only a pickup and that our items will be moved to a different truck at the depot.
My items arrived ahead of schedule.
So many items were damaged and/or lost. They were stuffed underneath the truck. One table had legs snapped off as well a professional paper shredder. So many items were covered in grease from an uncleaned bay. Other items were written on by the movers (I assume when they were transferred to a different truck) with permanent marker. This included luggage and storage bins. Why couldn't they write on tape placed on the items?
They also lost a hand-truck that was my property, which I specifically told them at the pickup.
An entire set of dishes were broken that were well packaged.
We had moved a year earlier and used Liberty Movers. I should have stayed with them with this move.
On top of all these issues, they make the claim process impossible. You need original receipts and they don't cover any items not packaged by them. Do yourself a favor and use someone else for your move.
They are thieves in my opinion.

Moving from NJ to AZ. Work Order : H3876400

I spoken to [NAME EDIT] and provided the estimation around 1200$. At the time of pickup they asked me to 2000$ instead of 1200 for same Articles ( Saying that it was wrong estimation generated by computer ) . I have no chance to go to another packers and moves because I have to join the new company and they know my travel dates. If they knows your travel dates they are going to start CHEATING.THEY KNOWS my travel date so they demand for 2000$. Paid half amount at the time of pickup. Waited for 3 weeks and got the call from truck Driver. Again they started Cheating saying I have to pay shuttle cost 350$. I'm not agreed to pay the Shuttle cost then they said they are going to keep the things at Storage.

From Storage I have to pickup. This guys are fraud. If you are ready to pay additional amount then choose this guys.

Fraud!! Cheating Company my dear friends. It's not DOOR -DOOR service. Service is Door to Storage.

I just wanted to thank you guys at active for an amazing job you did when you moved me and my husband. You were so efficient so courteous and so friendly. It truly was a pleasure meeting you and having you move us. The guy in charge Alex, I think you there on the job, making sure things are running smoothly, but also working yourself. I can tell you have a lot of experience doing this and you want expect your crew to do things the right way. The way in which customers are comfortable knowing their things are in safe hands. Not a single item of ours was broken or lost. Multiple people in the building moved in to came up to me that day or after to say how efficient and courteous you were to them and I know it was relatively small elevator and very hot day and never saw any of you guys taking a break even when you guys stayed longer. Everyone seemed to be surprised and appreciated when we ordered dinner for you to say thanks. I am sure you were exhausted but all of you stayed until the job was done. I’ve given your name to friends already and continue to give it out. I just want to say thank you again. I am never planning to move into a new house but if I ever do I will call you again at a hear beat. Thank you so much.

I contacted Active Moving to move a bedroom set from NY to NC.
My sister had passed and I was putting it in storage. I had spoke with 5 moving companies and I chose this company because Paul sounded so sincere I chose Active Moving, BIG MISTAKE, HUGE MISTAKE. Paul lied to me about the price, he said the price would not increase if I don't I add anything. I had three boxes and I reduce it by I box.. The mover called me in NC and wanted to increase the price by a 300 dollars. I was quoted by Paul with the calculation they used 900.00 and he wanted to charge 1200 dollars, and he reduced the 300 to 150.00 and finally with a lot of arguing 50. I was lucky because I told him it wasn't Godly and I will pray for him. I went to bible study and I included Sergey in prayer. I keep my word. I;m on a fixed income I keep my word, If you tell me one price I expect that price. No game playing when Sergey got there he said he was Paul's boss and it don't matter what Paul said.That is the scam. I made the mistake of telling Paul the furniture had to be out by the 24th and the pickup was the 23rd, so I had no choice but to pay the extra money.
Paul also told me they would not be able to deliver the furniture until June so I said okay. On the 25th I got a call at 2:00PM saying he was on his way with the delivery and to have the balance in cash or money order. I was going out of state on the 26th. I didn't even have the storage unit contract. I had it on hold for a unit, I didn't have a four hundred fifty dollar money order nor 450 dollars in cash to give them, I wasn't even going to be there. If he had called me that morning I could have gone to the bank and got it and they don't take checks. Which is strange down here they don't mind taking checks. Probably because people don't have money for a bounce check. Anna called and threaten me by phone and e-mail, if I didn't pay the money upon delivery they would take it back to NY and I would have to pay double the price of 950.00. I was angry. DOUBLE THE PRICE AND IF I DIDN'T PAY FOR THE RE DELIVER IN 30 DAYS SHE WAS GOING TO AUCTION IT OFF. We had a delivery month of June. Anytime in that month they can call me within 24 hours of delivery not May. She wanted me to wire the money that night. Wiring money years ago was very expensive. Didn't have money to give away because they had just got a load from Florida and they didn't want to honor their contract and change the delivery to May.
Anna finally said she would take,PayPal. I paid her the balance of 450.00 and I gave Alex a 15,00 tip. He called me upset and insulted because he just gave him a dollar tip. She stole the 14.00 dollar, She took 464.00. I specified in the notes to give Alex 15.00.
PLEASE DO NOT USE ACTIVE MOVING. PAUL SOUNDS HONEST BUT HE IS A BIG LIAR. INFORMATION HE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN ME HE DIDN'T. HE LIED AND SAID HE DID.THE INFORMATION HE DID GIVE ME WAS WRONG AND WHEN CONFRONTED IT'S LIKE YOU CAN POUND SAND.
THEY ARE A HORRIBLE MOVING COMPANY, RUNNING A SCAM, ARROGANT AND RUDE ABOUT IT. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT LYING TO THE CUSTOMER.
I WILL BE FILING A CLAIM AGAINST THEM BECAUSE ANYONE THAT WILL STEAL 14 DOLLARS WILL TEAL ANYTHING SO SAD.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $950

I used them to move my mom from NYC to Los Angeles area. They took our stuff to storage for about a month and then delivered to my house in CA. Both pick up and delivery crews were nothing but professional, careful about our stuff, polite and friendly. My mom was nervous about the move because last time she moved was around 25 years ago or so and you know how it is for older folks, but everything went smooth. I will no doubt hire the same moving company for my future move. They know what they doing.

I found active moving info from moving.com. I checked them out on BBB rating and other websites rating and they had decent ratings but unfortunately I can't give them a good rating for the following reasons. I recently moved from Jersey City, NJ to Morrisville, NC. I was initially contacted by Ivan Parks. They never came to my house to check out the stuff that I will be moving. I emailed Ivan couple of pics of my furniture and other stuff and he gave me an initial quote over the phone. After negotiation Ivan said the final price is $2600 which includes packing two mirrors and TV also including 1 flight of stairs. I specifically asked will there be any surprises and he said no. The $2600 will not change. I asked if I can use trash bags for my clothes and he said no problem. I did get other quotes from other companies and all of them were higher than Active Moving's. When the day of the moving came on July 4th, they came on time early in the morning and this guy named Alex came and looked at my stuff and he said he will have to call the office to get a quote because its a lot of stuff! The quote he gave me on the spot is $4600 and he won't charge me for the stairs! I was so shocked I lost the appetite to talk to Alex. I reluctantly agreed because I had join my office on the 8th. I asked when will I receive my stuff and Alex said most likely next Monday which is the 8th but there is no guarantee. They charged me $2300 on my credit card and said I will have to pay half when I receive my stuff. I called them on the 7th to get a status update and the lady on the phone said most likely on the 10th my stuff will arrive but someone will call me the day before the delivery. Wednesday came and then came Thursday and Friday, nobody called, nobody delivered. I called and the girl said our stuff is in the trailer and will be delivered by Friday. What BS! We were sleeping on the floor and eating on the floor. Thankfully wife brought 2 blankets and 2 pillows. My kids used 2 pillows and I brought 1 more from walmart for my wife and I was using a bag full of clothes as my pillow. We were so frustrated and miserable. Finally on Saturday the 13th Alex called and he said our stuff will be delivered the next day on the 14th. I asked where is my stuff and he said they are still in NJ. I just couldn't believe my ears! Finally after 10 days, two guys show up on the 14th around 9am and guess what they want their remaining balance of $2300 in cash before they start unloading. I said deliver my stuff and I will pay you. This guy said he can't deliver until he gets the money, its the company policy and he adds that his company is the best! I said no I'm the best because I'm paying you even before you moved in a single thing. So I gave them 23 100 dollar bills and they started to unload. the guy said they can only put 1 furniture only once and will not move them twice. After unloading they didn't want to re-assemble the bed and table. I said you guys have the screws and nuts and bolts and Alex said that you will re-assemble. The other guy calmed him down and finally both agreed to put my furniture together. My advice to any of you looking to hire Active Moving. Do no believe anything they say. Do not fall in their low price offer trap. Stick with a company that comes to your house and gives you an estimate. These guys should not be conducting any business and shouldn't be allowed to rip off general public.

Excellent service from start to finish. All items accounted for and I am beyond thrilled my terracotta warrior made it to the destination totally unscathed - along with everything else. I have to mention the exemplary friendliness & professional tailored services we received from Serge, Ivan and the team at Active moving. I had done extensive research in moving companies prior to our move as our budget was tight & I chose Active after inviting more than 7 companies to tender for our business, I was able to discuss with Ivan all the nitty gritty bits of shipping and it's complexities. There was no subject this team could not advise me on and they really did seem to care. After my shipping was packed up & left the house It occurred to me that evening I had not shipped some items in a cupboard we hadn't checked & I messaged Ivan to explain my error, the following day Serge came to my home & personally packed the items I had forgotten at no extra cost to me - I was so appreciative & he explained that "it's all part of the service, that these things happen when large houses are being packed up so no worries" WOW I am recommending this company to everyone. I have in the past received extremely bad service shipping goods with a larger well known company & was both anxious and adamant this time I was going to pick wisely. I am so glad I chose Active moving I have not been disappointed. Thank you for taking the stress out of our move.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $9600

Finding mover in New York is a gold. My moving crew was excellent. No standing and chatting. They were very careful with our items and nothing got damaged. This was probably my best move so far. Be sure to give them the most accurate list of items possible. My price went up about 10% because I've increased the amount of items comparing to what I've given them over the phone. But this was well compensated by their professionalism. I highly recommend this company.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1750

The movers were super professional and helpful. They made sure our stuff is wrapped and packaged and nothing would get damaged. Also they fixed our stuff in the truck nicely and nothing knocked around or fell. It was three men crew and the whole move took only 6 hrs even though it was 2 bedroom apartment and some stairs and driving was involved. The price we agreed on didn't go up and we were very happy with the movers in general. They left a light scratch on the wall but reimbursed the cost for repair. Kudos to the movers!
