Long-distance move from Arrow Rock, MO to Bardolph, IL

Job done right.

Without this company this morning would not have been done. We absolutely needed a professional long-distance mover that we could try. However finding the right one. We got calls and seven companies and everyone sounded better than the previous one. Everyone seems to say the right things on the phone and all of them asked for money from the first from home. The one company that didn’t work like that was accurate express movers. They were what I would consider to be gentle and understanding and patient. They helped us through this process tremendously. Answering questions and helping us with insurance even helping us ship our vehicles. They made this move a lot easier than we anticipated and when it comes to a moving company they are more than honest and worth all the trust. They are affordable down to earth and the perfect company to get the job done right.

Referral.

There’s always one company that seems to be one step ahead of everybody else. Accurate express movers was more than that. They listen to our unique situation and we’re very flexible on scheduling it to make sure it workedfor both parties.Moving with them took a huge burden off of our backs. The idea of moving ourselves which is out of the question and something we simply could not handle physically and mentally. They made all the arrangements with our new building as far as reserving the elevator parking the truck and what time we can move furniture in. They were always on time for any pick up or delivery call back or email and even a follow up after the delivery was over. The genuine concern is so evident working with this company. There are five star company no questions asked and a definite referral.

Long-distance move from Baton Rouge, LA to Danby, VT

Just as planned.

We absolutely loved everything about accurate express movers. They are one of the most friendly companies we have ever done business with in any area of our life. We like everything we saw online about them and so I’m more than enough positive reviews and Happy customers. We had a storage unit that needs to be picked up as well and they offered to do that free of charge as well as a few extra amenities as well. Our biggest concern was our pick up date which we were able to secure a making our reservation deposit. Their company that stays true to their word and values their customers and it comes out in each and every employee that works there. To make a long story short everything went as planned the movers were excellent and the service was remarkable. We sincerely thank you for all your help and hard work and diligence.

Long-distance move from Bayfield, CO to Anza, CA

Quick.

Never thought moving could go from so stressful so much fun so quickly. That was the beauty he came to working with accurate express Movers. Employees that were there understand that nobody really likes to move and they try to make everyone’s life is easy as possible so they can focus on what’s important to them. The movers came and took care of everything. They wrap furniture pack boxes loaded the truck and on the other and placed each piece an individual rooms as well as the boxes. It was hands-down one of the easiest things we had to do looking back. We came in with so much fear and stress and in the end we are filled with joy and happiness and it’s all due to your company.

Long-distance move from Gadsden, SC to Goodland, FL

Greatness.

Accurate express movers from the start are very first choice. They were one of the few companies that own and operate their own trucks and do not sell their move to a third-party. Luckily we are flexible with our move date so we waited till after peak season to have the move done we were able to move over the winter holidays receive this a lot of money in return. We were introduced to almost every member of the staff and everybody was so kind to us it was a really good feeling. As far as the movers they were obviously train professionals run by a fantastic foreman. They wrap all the furniture and boxes of fragile hurts extremely carefully so in the end nothing was broken or damaged As far as the movers they were obviously train professionals run by a fantastic foreman. Long-distance move from Palmdale, CA to Saint Joseph, MO

Please Read.

At first, this company seems pretty great. Their quote staff is responsive (as one would be when trying to secure paying contracts). Their preshipment staff is top notch. The guys who came to the origination point were great too. They loaded my household goods and took care to wrap and stack things nicely (note: we were present at this point). This is where the value and good stewardship ends. My things were taken to a depot to await assignment to a driver. What happened at the depot, I will never know. We get to our destination (it was a CA to MO move) and the driver calls 24 hrs in advance to give me a delivery window. The next day, the window is nearly over and no driver and no call. So we call. An he is rude but says he will be there in an hour. Okay, no problem. We wait. He arrives and is rude from the outset. After he is here for at least 30 minutes trying to situate his truck, a random man walks up and it turns out this is his help for the day! Not a professional mover, but a random day laborer. They open the truck and my husband is shocked. Why are our plastic totes upside down, have holes, and are shoved into spaces? They weren't loaded in such a manner at origination. Why is a statue my husband created unboxed on the floor? Why does the driver proceed to toss the statue and all of the boxes, regardless of how they are labelled, of the truck? Why are my new moving boxes that were pristine and packed correctly at the outset all trashed and crushed and shoved into spaces too? The day laborer? Why does this guy, supposedly a network or professionals known to the driver, look like he is going to die a few hours into the work and doesn't know how to lift properly and assemble furniture? Why does my husband have to stand over the driver to insist that he reassembles our furniture when that is a contracted service? Why does the husband have to reassemble things that were done incorrectly after they leave? whoosaaa.. right? The driver is rude and dismissive and careless the entire time, so much so that the day laborer apologizes FOR HIM at the end. The office is closed weekends, so Monday morning I call to complain. At first, it sounds like they are appalled too, and I am relieved. I am assured that the operations manager will call me within the hour. He does not, but it's busy so I am patient. I call again Tues. I am told that I am on his published schedule and will be getting a call that day. I wait. No call. No call Wednesday either. So I am not really frustrated and irritated. I call again Thursday. This day is the first time I am advised on the claims process. I will fill out the claim, but I can't submit it until all of the belongings are unpacked and checked because you cannot submit another claim nor can you add to the claim once it is submitted. I finally get to speak to the "operations manager" who is conveniently also the dispatch operator. He also has no boss over him, so my complaint dies there. So, I might get $0.60/lb for the damaged items.. maybe. But I didn't keep the crushed statue to weigh it. I paid over 8 grand to this company and was promised a professional moving experience. I did not get that. They have a lot of 5 star reviews on a lot of sites, but that has to be some kind of falsity if this is their usual method of business. I am including the photos I have available. In case anyone is wondering, that black wrapped object on the bottom of the pile, under the BOOKCASE and other HEAVY FURNITURE (Why is is that on top??) is my husband's TRAEGAR smoker. I tried to resolve this but the company clearly has no interest in customer experience once the money is in their hands. I was told as much when the "operations manager" said "you already paid for the delivery, there isn't anything I'm going to do now." Which I find funny, because had I not paid the driver nearly 3 grand (IN CASH or postal money order ONLY) he would not have delivered my goods, there would have been a $700 fee for re-delivery, and storage fees.. so it's not like I had a choice to not pay, take it, and try to resolve it later.

Long-distance move from Oakland, CA to Philadelphia, PA

Neither Accurate, Nor Express.

I can't imagine a steeper downward trajectory in customer experience. My estimator had a "we're not like other moving companies" vibe that sold me. The rep for my final estimate was similarly helpful and nice. They were my regular points of contact up until pickup; after this, there was no relationship — we just had to call customer service and hope that someone would answer.

The first unexpected charge came at pick-up when we were billed for materials and labor for wrapping some of the furniture (the estimators never even asked if any of our items were fragile).

We paid an expedited shipping fee to get our stuff in 4-9 days. It ended up taking nearly a month to leave California. AE made many promises to update us that were not delivered on. They started screening my calls (my partner was able to get them on the phone, while my calls, from the number associated with the order, went to voicemail and were never returned). The transparency of the initial interactions was nowhere to be found.

Eventually someone told us that the delay was because CalTrans was blocking their trucks due to COVID. Totally understandable, but it would have been nice to have been informed of this right away, rather than several weeks after they stored our stuff and stopped updating us. My partner also noted out that this was probably not a new development; California has been locked down since March, and we booked with AE in June.

We were told the expedited fee would be removed, but got nothing in writing. Eventually we were able to get a rep to email us stating that the cost had been removed (no updated contract). She said that the driver would be briefed on the new cost, which he wasn't; he told us the balance due was the original cost, and we had to have him call AE to get the correct number.

We were promised several days notice at drop-off, but didn’t get any additional information until the driver called saying he would be arriving the next day (we had talked to a rep the day before who said she would track down his location and call us back, but got no such call). He said that there would be an additional $400 charge to rent a van because our street was too small for his truck. There is a throwaway item on the contract mentioning this possibility with no estimate given. This was also never mentioned by the estimators, who had our address. We tried many, many times to get a delivery date so that we could apply with the city to have the street closed, but were never told anything beyond “7-10 days, maybe sooner.” We called AE about getting this fee waived, were told we would get a call back, and never did.

The drop-off experience could not have been more different than the pickup. At pickup, there were three professional movers with AE who were thorough and helpful. The drop-off was performed by the driver and a local guy who was hired for the job — neither of them were employees of AE, nor were they professional movers. The driver was short with us and refused to even attempt to take any of our furniture larger than an end table upstairs (we have a spiral staircase, which is not ideal, but I would have expected him to at least try). I felt bad for the helper — he was great and clearly wanted to help us out more, but had to follow the driver’s lead. They didn’t reassemble or place any of our furniture. At pickup, the movers all wore masks and the foreman told me they get tested every three days. At drop-off, they didn’t have masks and the driver shook our hands on the way out the door.

Almost everything that wasn’t wrapped in blankets is damaged. A shelf is smashed; the frame for a table is bent; wood items have paint scraped and splinters coming off; an upholstered headboard has what looks like motor oil on it. Every box is crushed, and no care seems to have been given to the boxes that were marked fragile. Per the driver, we will only be able to make claims on the items that he himself documented with pictures. He only noticed the smashed shelf; I also asked him to note the bent frame and one chair. The others we only saw after they had left, so I guess we're out of luck. We'll be filing a claim for the damaged furniture, but I’m sure the broken items in boxes will not be eligible for a claim since we packed the boxes ourselves. My advice is to have Accurate Express pack your boxes so that they are liable for everything.

I know the standard refrain — “it’s in the contract.” The thing is that the reps from this company will only cover the absolute best case scenario, which is wildly irresponsible in the midst of a crisis that is having an adverse effect on everything. If I were to do it all over again, I would have kept each rep on the phone for four hours each discussing every line of fine print.

Honestly, just move your stuff yourself. It’s not worth the stress of not knowing where your belongings are, when you can expect to see them again, whose care they are in, or how they are being handled.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Denver, CO

Horrible Experience

Horrible experience, definitely do not use this company! I got three quotes for our move from Chicago to Denver, they ranged from $12,000 - $15,000 but with similar services offered, so I chose this one. Our shipment was going to have to stay in storage for a few months, and this is where I made my big mistake. I didn't know until just a few days before our move that this company is un-insurable by a 3rd party moving insurance company, even though Accurate Express states customers should obtain private move insurance on their own contract documents. At that point it was too late to change vendors, and now I am paying the price.

It took three weeks after we moved into our new house for the shipment to arrive. The wait was exhausting, and a number of items were damaged in the move and without insurance the claim is valued only at pennies by the item weight, so essentially nothing. But the worst part was the missing items. In less than an hour after the driver left, I called him and the company in a panic because an important family heirloom was missing. He said it wasn't in the truck, and the company has done absolutely nothing to find it. The company contracts with a truck driver who is responsible for getting his own day laborers to work the job on the day of, and I am 100% convinced that this item was stolen by them, either when packing or unloading. It is also important to note that we received items that do not belong to us, they are from someone else's move, and the company has done nothing to try to reunite that customer with their items, which I still have.

Lesson learned: pay the extra $3000-$5000 to work with a big name moving company that can be insured by a 3rd party moving insurance policy. Hopefully with all these bad reviews, Accurate Express will go out of business, and I hope that the people who work there will learn to treat customers the way they want to be treated, and that scamming people and stealing from people is immoral.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to Las Vegas, NV

Not accurate, not express, terrible to work with

Overview: This company does not deliver your items in a timely manner, they break a number of items, and their costs skyrocket to almost double on the day of the move. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Cost & Estimate: We detailed out every little item in our household and included it in the preliminary inventory. When they called the week before the move, they increased the estimate from $5k to $7k based on all of the items we provided. On the day of the move, with the items all packed in the truck, we were informed that our cost was increased again to $10k. At this point, Accurate Express was not competitive with the other companies, and if we had known they would drive up the cost on the day of the move, we would have picked another company.

The move: They moved everything into the truck and loaded it well. They packed the items that needed to be packed. Then they left and said "the office will tell you when we're delivering."

The wait: We called every day and they HAD NO IDEA where our items each day. They also had no estimate for when they would be delivered.

The delivery: They called the night before and said they'd be driving our items from LA to Las Vegas. When they showed up, isntead of a full crew like the one that loaded, this one included the pre-teen kid of one of the movers and less adult movers. They wanted to get back to LA before dinner, and so they rushed to get done. They didn't unwrap many things, and they broke a number of items.

DO NOT SHIP THE FOLLOWING THINGS WITH ACCURATE EXPRESS MOVERS BECAUSE THEY WILL BREAK THEM:

* Desktop computers, servers, or any large electronic equipment. Our large tower desktop computer which they packed and wrapped, arrived in a hundred million pieces and does not work. All the data and investment in the computer is lost.

* Large fragile items. We shipped a large vase and stand. They arrived broken.

* Anything fragile really. Lots of broken glass, cups, plates, etc.

* Other things broken include a wooden table, an antique nightstand, and a custom-made wooden desk. All were damaged beyond repair, but I expect we won't see any $$ in reimbursement, which leads me to...

The claims: We compiled photos and documentation of all of the broken items. We submitted them to their email address as instructed. ONE MONTH LATER, we were told we need to resubmit everything to their outsourced claims company. The outsourced claims company is sending us through paperwork hell, using little discrepancies to hold up the process and not pay out a claim. After 9 months, your claim is no longer valid, so I assume they're just wasting my time to prevent paying out any money.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
