Long-distance move from New Hampshire to Colorado

They destroyed half our possessions for $11k

Move with anyone else - I would wish ABC on my worst enemy. $11k to go from NH to CO resulted in half of our possessions being scratch, dented, broken or destroyed.

Take a look at the photos of the incoming van of our boxes, thrown in the pile, with furniture they wrapped making holes in the floor from being dropped. My wife was devastated, and never in our wildest dreams thought a moving company would treat anyone's boxes so carelessly.

Prior to arrival, it took weeks to get them to answer calls and emails, and our stuff arrived weeks late. We filed a claim with the mover but never heard anything. Don't trust this cowboy outfit with your possessions - this was the worst moving experience I've ever had in my life.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Maine

Worst move ever.

We recently moved from Massachusetts to Maine and used ABC Movers an Allied agent.  The initial contact was prompt and courteous, quote was accurate.  The scheduled move morning no one came to load our household.  After placing a call to the company I was told they would be at our home around 10:30.  Crew arrived, carefully packed the truck, were pleasant and generally very competent.  They left at 6 PM stating, "the truck will only have your items on It, we will get it weighed and park it at our location.  On Monday someone, maybe us, will leave here around 4 or 5 AM to drive to Maine.  They will call while en-route, plan on delivery between 8 & 8:30 AM." no further contact until I again called the office Monday morning at 9 AM to see if the truck was on their way.  Long story short the crew arrived with our belongings at noon, only everything had been removed from the original truck and placed on a new truck Over the weekend.  Needless to say it was a mess.  Broken items, missing items, no logical arrangement for placing boxes in the house. This outfit has no communication or customer service skills. Do not waste your money with Allied or their agents.  Sad for our loss and angry about their insensitivity for our belongings.  It was the worst move we have ever made and we have a lot of experience with moving.

Long-distance move from Boston, MA to Austin, TX

ABC Moving & Storage - DO NOT USE.

We hired ABC Allied Van Lines to relocate us from Boston, MA to Austin, TX. The price we paid for the move was not our cheapest proposal, and we went with ABC Allied Van Lines because we thought it was a reputable organization. We were promised professional movers, high quality service and responsiveness by the two individuals below:

David Foote, ABC Allied Van Lines Boston Regional Representative

Regina Reichart, ABC Allied Van Lines Boston Regional Service Center

AWFUL! DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!

During the packing process, one of the movers accidentally dropped and broke a valuable lamp. Now accidents happen, but there was not a sense of urgency or care during the packing process. Once our belongings were in the truck, the entire process went sideways, and David and Regina were not responsive at all. David is great at sending e-mails with links to file claims, but as far as getting involved and helping - did not happen. Regina, I never heard from during the entire delay of transporting our belongings. It got the point where there were so many delays and issues during transportation, that the driver and his wife were texting me daily.

Long and painful story short – Our belongings were packed May 26. Our belongings were supposed to arrive on July 7th. They arrived July 19 at 7:00 pm and movers left at 1:00 am. We had to tell the guys at least 3 times to keep it down, as they were putting furniture together in our hallway after 11:00 pm.

Damage – Four lamps crushed and broken. One wardrobe box crushed which contained custom made suits. Wood dressers are severely scratched.

Missing – One 45 lbs piece of marble (coffee table top) and 4 boxes missing.

The explanation for the delay – one week due to other loads being cancelled and our belongings sitting in warehouse until the driver could get a full load and then the truck broke down and took 4 days to repair.

Delay claims – Claimed the additional rent for temporary living accommodations from July 10-19. Claim was DENIED. Reason for the denial – the truck breaking down is an unforeseeable event therefore we are not liable. Are you kidding me? Maintaining the truck sure is a FORESEEABLE requirement if you are providing a DELIVERY service.

Now comes the fun part of dealing with customer service for the loss claims. Guaranteed we will not be made whole for our losses, despite having paid for full coverage.

Save yourself this nightmare and find a different company!

Local move within Pennsylvania

Boston to Philadelphia.

Our experience matches Jason B's, again not cheapest move ($13-15K, 4-5 bed). Dealt with David Foote and Jordan as coordinator. David was fine, no one else was. The crew that loaded the truck in Boston - one guy had such a pungent marijuana smell upon arrival one would be led to believe he smoked just before arriving. They treated our belongs poorly, didn't care if things got dirty or how they were wrapped. When we had things delivered in PA (also more than a week late, and compensation for additional rent was a nominal flat rate rather than rate we pay in this area) there were items broken and damaged, and a high number of things missing. They also tried to deliver items that were not even ours! Items missing were power tools and electrical supplies (high end outlets and screwless covers), sentimental items that cannot be replaced (how do you tell your kids not only are their elves on the shelf are not coming, but the mailboxes they made are now gone) - items were in clear plastic bins..which were considered self packed so again compensation was a nominal flat rate rather than replacement value. So many things missing, we are still (9 months later identifying missing items)..it is such a violation. They put a bed together (brand new) that was damaged, and put a damaged box spring on, and didn't disclose this to us. We only realized when we went to switch box springs, and that claim was filed later, so it was not honored.

Long-distance move from Melrose, MA to Raleigh, NC

The worst customer service ever

I tried contacting Sean and Jordyn several times to resolve my issues but no one returned my ten phone calls/emails over a 2 month period (this is no exaggeration). So I tried to get some sort of resolution through the BBB but this approach was disappointing at best. Not only did Allied/ABC (thought these were the same but apparently there is a distinction??) lie in their response to the BBB but they actually stated that they do not back the work of the movers they hire. Seriously?!?! That is the worst business model ever! So now I am left with leaving negative reviews on as many sights as possible. Two main issues:

1. The communication on the final delivery to Raleigh, NC was absent. We were renting an apartment until we bought a home to have our stuff delivered to. Per instructions from our Allied rep, we scheduled delivery two weeks out. We requested 9/13 and he said it would be 9/13 or 9/14 and would confirm as we got closer to the date. We were not made aware that our delivery would not be 9/13 or 9/14 until the Sunday prior. Delivery to our NC address did not happen for another week (9/21). As such we were required to rent an extra week. There was verbal agreement that ABC would reimburse us for this week.

2. They charged a credit card without our permission and with out a final invoice. At the time we didn't think to stop payment because "certainly they would provide an invoice after the fact".

Buyer beware - get everything in writing and do not allow payment to be processed until the invoice is in hand,
