Estimator under estimated load - had split load - the second load showed 4-5 weeks later (then sent an invoice for $12,000 but $0 owed for second load - Why?) . Couch was extremely dirty. we had chips on dining room table and chairs.

Lowest cost does not equal a good moving experience. Would Not recommend.

The Worst

They misplaced 12 items on our move.

Now 1 month later they seem to have found some of them and still have not delivered them. They, as is their practice, are falling back on their overflow shipment clause to not pay anything for their inability to do what they were contracted to do. In addition, they destroyed a large number of valuable antiques after we paid for "safe storage" for a couple of years , as we got stuck in the Covid building delays on our new house. Now we are getting the runaround on our claims.

So, if you want to get you stuff delivered when your mover is contracted to and you don't want your antiques delivered as a pile of kindling then do not use Suddeth/United.

Moving within California

Predatory business practices at Unigroup and United Van Lines and their local agent, Conejo Valley Moving and Storage/Blue Chip, flows from top down and even reaches to the receptionists answering calls. Do not use United Van Lines or their local agent Conejo Valley Moving and Storage if you value your belongings, your departure home, or your destination home. Our move in June 2022 was one headache after another because we trusted United Van Lines since we have had positive moves with them in the past. Conejo Valley Moving and Storage use their affiliation with United Van Lines to get business, then destroy your belongings, and slap you in the face on their way out.

The movers and packers were unprofessional to say the least. Their packing crew only packed our home for a few hours, leaving over 50% unpacked. After multiple discussions with the sales person, one packer showed up on the day of the move who threw items in boxes without any packing materials, resulting in damaged and shattered items. The movers incessantly bickered and argued while disassembling and moving our furniture. Their hostilities got worse as they broke multiple pieces of our furniture.

Awful Company - Do not use and waste your time and money

We used United Van Lines to move cross country in June 2021 from Chicago to Dallas. Through United Van Lines I was assigned a local agent in Chicago to coordinate my move: Armstrong relocation. When we received our stuff in Dallas, all the boxes were damaged since they didn’t tie/secure the treadmill. Our mattress was ripped and some furniture was damaged. Our Treadmill was damaged beyond repair. I filed a claim in August and United Vanlines still hasn’t settled the claim, even though they have already picked up the damaged Treadmill for junk. I filed a dispute with my credit card company to block the payment for the claim amount, since they were not responsive and were hoping that would put pressure to help resolve my claim, but looks like they don’t care. While I received a credit for the claim amount, I would like to close this matter, but they have stopped to responding and won’t communicate with me anymore. Do not hire this company for your move.

Armstrong Relocation/ United Van Lines moved my household goods from New Orleans, LA to Pittsburgh, PA on May 28th and 29th this year (2021). They lost 2 pieces of furniture - an antique french fruitwood chair and a black lacquer table with fretwork legs that I have had for the last 20 years and moved with several times in the past. They also lost my bedroom rug- an 8x10 wool rug. They broke the marble top of my french secretary into three pieces; they broke the legs on two Windsor chairs which have now been repaired by the company who made them in Maine for $750 ( shipping costs both ways was $1,404); they broke the bow on a gold leaf mirror and on one of two car ed, wooden wall hangings. They never contacted me regarding the missing items. I had to telephone them. Their attitude has been dismissive from the beginning. The move was a disaster. They are now trying to not pay my claim .which is miniscule in regard to the loss and damage. This is one company to avoid at all costs. Horrible, Horrible company - RUN the other way

Horrible, horrible company. Lost some of my items during the move. When going through their process denied any reimbursement, although I checked box stating "ALL ITEMS NOT RECEIVED". They say I should've itemized what was missing. With over 400 asset tags, that would've taken a week while the driver waited. Just insane. No one replies to a call request, all email replies are standard pre-existing replies.

This move was almost $13k, and they can't even treat you like a customer. You are the enemy after they collect their money. DO NOT USE.

Do not use -- Lost precious items.

Liberty Transportation/United Van Lines has lost two boxes that were most precious to me during my move from NYC to France. They contained notes that my father wrote in the hospital before passing away, and unique family pictures, letters and documents of which we have no copies. Losing these boxes meant losing our father's only memories and has caused profound distress to my siblings and myself. It also means that my children and baby niece will have no trace of who their grandfather was.

The loss of these boxes is the result of a series of mistakes on Liberty Transportation's part, including the following ones:

(1) The container with my belongings was un-sealed and unloaded without authorization before reaching my house and its content transferred into 2 vans, due to an incident with the driver.

(2) The movers did not have an inventory list for me to check off upon delivery and were very much in a hurry to leave, with no time to go through everything with me. They did not know how many items they had delivered and had obviously not counted them.

(3) Some inventory numbers did not correspond to the content of the boxes, which seems to indicate that the inventory was not…

United Van Lines/Sullivan moving review.

My experience with United Van Lines/Sullivan moving company was BY FAR the WORST experience I have ever encountered with a service provider in my ENTIRE life!! The very worst, and if you would rather not endure the head-ache of their services yourself, I would advise you take heed to my review. First off, at inception of business transaction, they seem to be very service oriented and accommodating that is until they get your business and the contractual agreement between you and the company has been signed. I was initially told that there was a time frame that I would receive my items resulting from a move from CA to VA. The estimators came to my place in CA, surveyed the items to have been shipped, gave me an estimate, and told me that since the total weight amount of my items weighed below the required minimum, that I would be charged just the standard weight. Cool. They then proceeded to tell me that it would take between 5-15 days to receive my shipment from CA to VA (as I arrived to VA before the movers did.). Throughout the process and after my card was charged the service fee, I not once heard from United Van Lines/Sullivan moving, forcing me to have to check in with them…

Buyers beware A lot of promises upfront and no follow through

My move was from Spokane WA to San Antonio TX I was promised my household goods no later than 7 May. When my goods were picked up I was told I would be given a delivery date the next day. It is the 3rd of May and I still do not have a delivery date. If it is late United Van Lines reimburses 100 dollars a day What a joke That doesn’t even pay for one day in a hotel. This is the most unorganized company I have ever dealt with. I have moved many times in my life and this is the worst experience ever. I am paying over 10 grand for this move and the customer service is non existent. When booking a move I would expect all pieces of my move in place before picking up my household goods. A driver was assigned just a few days ago. Moving is stressful enough and United Van Lines has made my stress level even worse. From Christopher Wells who gave me the estimate to Sara Carazos in Austin the service has been the worst. Anyone planning a move make sure you get all the moving parts verified before booking. Beware of United Van Lines A lot of promises made and no follow through.

United Van Lines - Horrible.

Promised in 4-10 days. I am sitting in my new home 16 days later. No furniture, and United cannot tell me when it will arrive, because as of today, they have no one to drive it here. I paid super high price to United purposely to hire a premier moving company. It was irrelevant that I scheduled my move 4 months ago.

When I asked United Customer Service if I should just hire another company to pick up the load, the agent replied that it was a good idea. She also said I should have anticipated delays because of the peak summer moving season. Having now passed L about Day, United still has no driver to assign to the load.

Their last suggestion was that they might be able to send a partial load, and then the rest by container. When I asked why they don’t just send it all by container, TODAY, they said they don’t want to send the whole load that way because it is not the best, safest, or most secure way to send a load.

My exasperation and disappointment is through the roof.

Although I took my walker on my plane flight here, United was unmoved when I explained that my wheelchair was on the truck. They offered to rent me another one until they understood that it is a customized…

Horrible.

We had to pay for housing from November 19th to December 2nd because it took a long time for our furniture to arrive. We got $100 for delay of transport. Initially the salesperson said furniture would be delivered before Thanksgiving. Then, the driver was sick and no one wanted to take the job. Then, the truck broke down. Finally, got my furniture with scratches on two tvs and missing items. I submitted a claim but the big 70" tv was not covered because it did not have a scratch. It has noticeable finger marks on the lower edge and was hung professionally before the movers took it down. By the way, if you pack your own dishes and the box is smashed, they are not liable for broken dishes even though the box was broken because you packed it. Horrible.

Stolen property.

They picked up our house and have never delivered our belongings to us. Nothing has ever been brought to Texas that was picked up in Georgia. One time they gave us a delivery window, but never showed up. We filed a police report this morning.

Terrible Attitude.

If you can avoid dealing with these people, try to do so as much as possible.  Here's the experience I had.  While waiting in my car at the downtown property that I manage, a large truck is pulling up so closely beside me to the point where they almost clipped the front end of my car.  I am clearly off to the side, away from anyone so I'm wondering why someone would get so close. Knowing that most of the delivery people are on site to serve one of my residents (moves, furniture delivery, etc.), I get out of my car when they get out of theirs & ask them what I can help them with.  After confirming who they are here for, I mention to the passenger that they came awfully close to my vehicle & the man said "it's all good, she's a good driver."  I didn't think much more of it, and when my assistant manager walked up, I had him get the freight elevator keys and as they are walking off & I'm getting back into my car, the passenger mover tells the female driver in a way of instigation what I said a little earlier and she looked at me and said in a voice full of hate "Did I hit it?!?!  Well then..!" moving her head side to side in a very uncaring, rude manner.  I told her I didn't need to…

Golden Eagle Moving Services.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the California division of this company conducts business. Golden Eagle Moving Services out of Upland CA are simply the BEST! The driver we had, Victor Munoz, was just wonderful. Professional, courteous, prompt, caring and efficient. The load arrived as promised, at the time promised and was unloaded here in Philadelphia with no damage. The crew in Glendora was amazing, I am a glass artist and had 18,000 lbs. of equipment and glass to move. They worked incredibly hard. They were careful and respectful of our items. Here on the Philadelphia side, the crew was not quite as good. They had one surly, lazy kid but the other two were just wonderful. I will absolutely use Allied again as we will be moving within 6 months. (I will just be sure to tell them not to send Mr. Bad Attitude!).
