Excellent customer service. I sent 50 boxes that includes sofas, TVs and house hold items. All my boxes were wrapped in plastics wrapping by SFL, nothing was stollen. Shipment reached on time but service in India needs improvement. I had to unload boxes myself. Delivery in India was delayed .Some glassware did break. Pack glassware and TV properly to avoid damage. Home packed TV broke but factory packed was fine. I greatly recommend Mr. Punit 972-295-9019 and Amit Shah in NJ. 973-567-1947. My second shipment of 26 boxes is arriving Jan 2024. I DO RECOMMEND NOT TO BRING TV OR AMERICAN APPLIANCE to India. I had to buy transformer to convert voltage which is a big hassle .Raksha Naik

This post is for those people who are considering SFL as their service provider for transport of their household goods.

I used this company to transport my belongings from Dallas area to Mumbai this year. Before you make a decision of your own, this is what you should know about so your expectations are right.

1- SFL states that they provide the service from Door to Door, but you should not get carried away by that. It only means that they will get a company to get the goods from your place, and use a company to deliver goods to your destination place. Between these two, most of the activities are beyond their control. For example, if you ask them reason for delay, they will mention that it is the shipping company that decides this. They basically use the cheapest shipping service. You can not plan anything based on that.

2- They oversell: When the sales person will contact you, he will state that there is no backlog currently, and we will get everything to your door within 2 to 3 months. In my case, i was told that my goods will leave Houston harbor on the 17th of March. In reality, they kept it at the port and it left in April. Again, I was told that it was Shipping Line which decides the dates. In fact, for everything, they keep on putting the responsibility on some other party.

3- They lost part of my shipment. Worst of all, in order to pay compensation, they ask the client to give an undertaking that he/she will not go to social media and write about them! For no fault of the customer. The pot calling the kettle black.

4- When I told them that their customer service was pathetic, they started pointing me to the contract! Wow. I had planned my international travel with sufficient margin based on estimate at the time of booking, which I had to cancel. But they have no empathy for customer's situation.

5- Beware - when the boxes were dispatched to the destination address, their delivery company started asking me money! I told them I had paid for Door to Door delivery. I got calls repeatedly from them and was told to pay money! I was shocked. I told SFL representative that they can, in fact, pay to their vendor. Eventually, they did not pay to the vendor. I kept on getting calls from the vendor the entire day.

6- They do not update any status on their website. When you contact them, they will reply and then change the status on their website.

If you want to escalate or talk to someone responsible, they give the email ID of some Mr Shah, who seems to be a non-existent entity. He never bothers to reply to any mail giving a feeling that he cares a damn about you being a customer.

7- After the goods were cleared in customs in Mumbai, they took more than 2 weeks to deliver goods to another address in Mumbai. I was told they were having "connectivity issues". I asked them that the only business SFL is in is moving goods, and they are having issues with that business!

So overall, bad selling, no responsibility on their side, delays at the port of origin, transit and delivery, loss of goods, pathetic customer service, no link to any responsible person and no empathy regarding customer's situation. If you can take a risk with your goods and want to bang your head following up with them, then sure, use them.

HORRIBLE - FRAUD COMPANY

Update: 11/06/2019 - Beware friends, this is fraud company, on phone they told me.. custom clearance is but 2 days back I received customs notice that, my TV clearance is not done and if I fail to clear TV within 10 days they will auction my TV and recover their charges .. and if they will not be able to recover their charges through auction, I will be liable to pay remaining amount..

Update: 10/31/2019 - Now it is more than 6 months but I am still waiting for my TV.

Update: 10/21/2019 - I had to send new passport, since do not have any choice, I called these people and they said by Wednesday EOD they will send passport and will share the tracking details and TV will be shipped. I do not believe these people but no other option.. these people are not ready to provide custom bills (as I mentioned - they take custom charges from you but they don't pay).. as per me delivery is delayed by 2 months but if I consider their lies, still it is 1 month late .. but there is no compensation.. worst experience .. will write final comments after I will receive TV.

Update: 10/15/2019 - I am still waiting for my TV, actually my wife's passport was about to expire, and she applied for new passport .. that time these people said we are fine with cancelled passport. But now they are asking for new passport which we don't have. these people asked for new passport application which we provided to them. Now these people went into Indian passport site and track passport application status, which is illegal and breach of trust .. beware do not provide any legal document to these people they may illegally track and misuse your documents.
Negative 5 (-5) star. Now I hardly have any hope that I will get my TV that too without any damage.
I am not aware of customs duty process, but somehow I think these people take customs duty from customers and don't pay that much .. I sent a TV last year also (Universal Reallocation - Broken my TV) .. so there is already a stamp .. not sure but possibly on house hold items, first time customs give some discount which these people want to save .. and pressurizing us to send new passport as soon as we get it..

Update: 10/13/2019 - Now these people says custom clearance is beyond their control and there is no date given. it's been 4 months and 20 days now.. I don't know what these people are doing with passport, don't know.. Next update tomorrow.

I don't know how these people got 4+ star, because they do not deserve even 1 star.. feels like their own people giving 5 or 4 stars to increase rating ..

I sent my 65 inch TV to India, at the time of booking their representative told me.. TV will be delivered in 90 days .. it was all verbal .. which changed to 120 days after TV shipment, when I asked, representative told me, on paper it is mentioned but TV will be delivered in 90 days. but it's more than 130 days TV is still stuck with customs and when I try to call, first they don't pick the call, even when they pick the call they do not have any update.

At the time of booking I clearly mentioned in email that I will not be able to provide passport everything was fine and acceptable but as soon as TV reached India these people started asking for passport, when I said no these people stopped all the process, I had to send passport as I didn't have any choice .. now passport with valid visa is with these people for the past 4 weeks without any response. I have sent many emails but no response.

At the time of booking I clearly mentioned I need $0 deductible insurance, these people charged me $200 (Extra for insurance) + $150 (Wooden Crates) extra for this, but when TV reached India these people started giving excuse that they do not provide 0 deductible insurance which indicates they provided standard insurance with $300 deductible, when I sent the initial emails where 0 deductible was mentioned by their representative somehow agreed.
