Right A-Way Movers

I am a current victim of moving fraud by this company (moving contract was signed by Southern Guarantee Moving & Storage) and they decided to choose Right A-way movers as my carriers about which I was not told till they arrived to pick up my items. My household goods were loaded on 05/24/2022 from Springfield MO for Atlanta GA to be delivered on 06/18/2022. Today is 08/22 and I have not received my shipment. I have called/emailed this so called moving company customer care and their carriers million times and they take me for a ride with most ridiculous responses every single time.You should also be aware of about their lowball initial estimate when you will first contact them. My estimate was revised from $1750 to $6400 (almost 4 times) when carriers came and loaded everything into the truck .I was almost manhandled and forced to pay half of the revised estimate amount in cash and was threatened that I need to arrange the cash in 5 mins otherwise they will increase the estimate amount. Well there are lot many things to tell that me and my family have been going through last 3 months without our household item (furniture/kitchen items/electronics and my kid whole set of toys , our old memories among many other things). I have been trying to get information on how to file complaint and insurance claims for non-receipt of shipment but there customer service says they have no such complaint filing system and many other unacceptable excuses.

Now I know moving fraud DOES HAPPEN !!

Stay away from these guys and specially their carriers 'Right A-way movers' (rudest and unprofessional bunch of people I have ever worked with in my life) if you want to save yourself from lots of stress, height of unprofessionalism, unreasonable revised estimate upon loading, worst and unresponsive customer care.

If this company shows up at your door my advice is to decline the service. We booked through all State Moving Of America. This company sold my account to... that's right, Right A-Way Movers!

Immediately the movers claim the amount of goods were

over the so called footage of space for our price quote. So we had to run around trying to purchase money orders and pay the extra cost! Then they ask when do you want your goods to be delivered which was noted on the invoice. Why they even bothered going through this step I wonder...

Because it took 2 MONTHS before I received my items. Yes, imagine arriving to your new apartment with no bed, no extra clothes, no cookware, no TV! Meanwhile to add pain to injury when we called to check on eta, we were hung up on or rudely talked to on the phone. I have never experienced

such unprofessionalism and lack of customer service.

When my goods arrived yes, you guessed it the price was $350 more for a supposedly shuttle service. All my items were there but the head board for the bed was damaged, drawer for the bed damaged, dishes and glasses

broken despite being wrapped in bubble wrap and placed

in boxes marked fragile. In conclusion if this company shows up at your door my advice is to decline the service.

Unfortunately booking with an agent means you are connected with a contractor who may not care about you or your belongings. Move from Louisiana to Colorado Springs, CO (move date : 6/24). After insisting on an update, Today 8/3 I was told “you don’t know shit & you can pick your things up In Georgia because you disrespected me (Joseph: Owner). I live 20 hours from the place where my items are “said to be.

Red flags

?: items picked up after midnight

?: quote price doubled after loading items and it is after hours so you can’t reach broker.

?: not able to get status update even 30 days after pick up.

?: BBB rating F! (Learned this much later because broker does not tell you what company will be moving you.

Next steps: purse process for reporting mover scams/interstate fraud. Plan to travel to GA to get the items that the company refused to deliver in order to teach me a lesson..?..

My belongings were picked up in APRIL 2022, it is now September and they still have not delivered!!!!! They have changed the price and because according to them their driver "misquoted" our move they are holding our belongings hostage for over $3500 more than contracted!

We came to an agreement on the additional amount and were told we would have our stuff in 10 days, now they are saying they have 35 business days to deliver! FSCMA here I come!!!!

*TLDR: Belongings taken hostage by moving company(Southern Guarantee - subcontracted: Right A-Way Movers) for more than 2 months (75 days) – filed a complaint with FMCSA and got my things delivered.*

I’m not someone who really writes reviews but my horrible experience with Southern Guarantee compelled me to spread awareness so that no one goes through it.

I called Southern Guarantee(Greg) for moving my 1-bedroom apartment from Southaven, Mississippi to Sunnyvale, California. The final moving estimate was given, and I paid via ACH banking on 3rd May 2022.

Date requested for move was 28th May 2022, but the movers came on the night of 29th of May 2022. I had paid for packing and moving services, but they did not pack - left my kitchen belongings and mattress because their truck did not have space. They helped me throwaway a couch - for which I chose to tip extra $200. They also asked for tip - so I had to pay $300. These transactions happened through Zelle. The first date of delivery was decided to be 4th June 2022.

Since then, I tried to contact Southern Guarantee customer service only to be given false promises, they first told me they will take 21 business days, so I waited patiently. But after that they gave false assurance of a callback from the driver for weeks. After pressing more, I somehow got them to tell me that they had subcontracted the job to Right A-Way Movers (owned by Joseph Owens). The lady over the phone was very rude and mentioned they will need 35 business days and asked me to pay $2000 to "expedite" delivery - which I refused to pay. After more than 2 months, I was at my wits end because of all the mental harassment from their side, plus extra monetary expenses to compensate for missing belongings.

Then read reviews online and saw that some people were going through the same exact issues with these movers(https://www.mymovingreviews.com/movers/right-a-way-movers-5548).

My things eventually arrived a week after I made the complaint on 17th August 2022. My bed and TV stand had missing parts and were broken – so I suffered a few losses.

In the hindsight, I should have known better but since this was my first move, I was not very aware of the practices. I hope anyone wanting to avail their services reads my review to take a better-informed decision. Thanks!

I have moved several times over the years and am wanting to prevent others from having a terrible experience. The company's lack of communication is beyond belief. Emails, phone calls, texts, and rarely a response. Awful given there was a two-and-a-half month arrival delay. I was not given a Bill of Laden and my belongings were not numbered by the company. Half my belongings were ruined or broken and several valuable items were lost. I also had to pay almost $2000 over the broker's original quote even though I submitted photos and gave a complete count and description.

I am not going to go through all the details but my experience has been the same as everyone else here. Here is what you can do to recover your belonging

- If your belongs are delayed more than 21 days, immediately fill a complaint with FSMA against the movers and brokers. Make sure you list the brokers in your complaint.

- Write a complaint to attorney general of Georgia. What this company is doing is criminal negligence, causing thousands of dollars of material lose and emotional pain.
