Pricing Van Lines

So the relationship that I have with this company started out very sour, I mean super sour. It took them a hell of a long time to deliver my things, like 2 1/2 months, there was a lot of fighting with them to get there act together, but I'm going to give them 5 stars because it seems that my case was the outlier. Because in the end, I got my things and I got compensation for their tardiness, it was messy and first, but they came through. They took responsibility for there screw up and you have to give them respect for that, so yes I would recommend this company, they're the cheapest option out there and you WILL get your belongings, I think that's the fear many people have when moving especially long distance, is the company legit or not and I testify that this company is legit.

I own a lot of breakables. So naturally I was worried for how they were going to travel from Texas to North Carolina. I specifically asked the movers from Pricing Van Lines to take extra care of my glassware, boxes, and furniture. They did exactly that. They were very well equipped and methodically packed everything with great caution. They placed the boxes strategically in the truck so they won’t break. In the end, when my items arrived in North Carolina, Everything arrived completely unharmed. I was so happy with the services provided by this company.

We hired Pricing Van Lines after vetting other movers because my husband felt this was a very forthright mover who was being transparent. Based on the advise provided, we waited until D-day minus 1 to receive our final quote which was nearly twice as expensive as what had initially been quoted. While they initially said the quote was based on cu.ft, they finally changed it to box count and left us with our hands tied a day before our cross-country move. We moved from Cincinnati OH to Portland, OR from a 4BR 2.5 Bath Single Family Dwelling and it cost us $11.5k finally while the initial quote had been $7.5k. We were told repeatedly to wait until the end to discuss pricing details and by the time the end arrived it was too late. When we called to ask them to help out with these enormous costs, we were told they could offer us a $75 honorary rebate. Turned out in the end they were not all that transparent.

As far as the moving service itself, they moved everything without significant damage and our treasured possessions (irreplaceable artwork and China) came in safely. They did break our king size bed frame though by misplacing some of the key supporting beams which we didn’t realize until a month later when the bed came crashing down while I was on it!

Bottom line: do not recommend, will never re-use their service.

We booked with Pricing Van Line based on Home Advisor and Angie List recommendation. Never again!

All seemed well until we got close to move date. Important to understand Pricing Van Lines is a broker not a moving company. They farm out the move to a company that will actually do the move. Although you are advised there is 24 hr support- there is not! After much discussion on phone we paid extra for a dedicated truck and direct delivery of our belongings from Dubois PA to Ocala Florida. Day of move- mover - Diamond Clove who had 5 star reviews-shows up with half full truck stating he would get another truck there by am for the rest of our belongings. He advised he had no knowledge of a dedicated truck nor direct delivery. Multiple repeat calls to Pricing are unanswered! Mover advised he wanted $14.000 more for move due to need for another truck with 2 movers. Declined this offer. The next morning at 530 AM Discover contacted us about possible fraud-moving charge of $1700.00- was not authorized by us! Multiple calls to Pricing go unanswered. Finally mid morning spoke with Pricing Van Lines customer service- “pick up charge is normal and part of contract” I read contract to her- no such mention. Advised to cancel all moving services and give back our money- which they did. We are in our 70’s and got the last 26 ft UHaul truck in town and with the help of friends moved to Florida

While it was difficult our belongings arrived intact and on time! Very disappointed such businesses exist

Lesson learned- buyer beware, good reviews may not be real. Colonial Van Lines offered to help but could not get us moved on time to close on our home. Not sure who you can trust anymore- sad state of affairs!
