Terrible Horrible Predatory Company. .. We own a waterfront condo in Hull Ma, that is currently for sale. We had an offer over the weekend. Today, Tuesday, I received a cryptic text (not a call, a TEXT) from an unknown number."Hi, this is Mary over at Casey Movers, Do you need help moving in the next couple of months?" I called to find out how they got my unlisted cell phone number and they gave me terrible attitude. Very rude people, I don't trust this company's tactics.

Two Great Moves.

Casey moved two households into one on two separate days in a two-week period and I am pleased to say that both moves went extremely well and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casey Movers. The first move started off well, with Kyle and his colleague, both professional and courteous individuals, doing a phenomenal job getting the myriad furniture and multiple boxes into the truck in record time. Unfortunately, the truck broke down halfway to our new residence and we weren't sure if we would get our furniture until the next day, making for a very stressful situation. Although the truck with furniture had to be towed to their main location and the furniture transferred to another truck adding many hours to an already stressful day, Casey went above and beyond to insure that we received our furniture and other items that evening. We extend special thanks to Kyle and his colleague for their devotion, hard work and efforts late into the evening to insure that we were able to sleep in our new home.
The second move the following week, was overseen by Dan and his colleague. Dan, the manager of the move and his colleague were friendly, courteous and very professional. They did a phenomenal job despite having to load three floors of furniture into the truck, traveling a distance of ~ 70 miles to the final destination and unloading, and all done in record time during heavy rains and winds. What an amazing crew. Special thanks go out to Dan for overseeing a very successful move. Casey is very fortunate to have him on their team.
As stated earlier, I wouldn't hesitate recommending Casey Movers.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Rhode Island

Move on 4/6/18.

I would not recommend Casey Movers at all. They sent two men to move my household and one of them was diligent in getting the move done and the other one told me that they had 4 moves to do in one day because they relied on their tips. The tipping situation was brought up several times in the move. After they left, I realized that they left some items and I called them immediately and they told me if they turned around, it would be an overage. So I took the remaining items with me. When we arrived to my new house, they were trying very hard to move my dresser upstairs and it would not fit. In their defense, they did work very hard in trying to move the dresser. I felt from the beginning that Casey Movers had planned on an overage and that the constant talk about tipping was not necessary. They told me upon arrival that they accepted tips and I had planned to tip them anyway.

Casey Movers.

My experience with Casey was fine until it was time to unload at my new house. At that time, Casey said I had to pay an additional $2,000 above the estimate. The reason I had to pay more was that one of Casey's employees quit on the day of my move, and the job took them longer than expected because they had one less person working. I thought that wasn't a good reason to charge me more, but there was no room for negotiation. Casey said my choices were to pay the extra $2,000 or they would drive the truck away without unloading. Casey held me hostage--they had literally everything I owned in the truck--so I had no choice to pay.

Afterwards I tried complaining many times, but I had no luck. Casey wouldn't return my calls. I put the $2,000 on my Visa card and tried to contest the charges there, but Casey wouldn't return Visa's calls. I even complained to the state Attorney General's office, but they gave up after Casey wouldn't return their calls.

If Casey won't respond to the credit card company, the attorney general, or to me--if they respond to this review, I'll remove it--I see no reason to believe they'll provide good service in the future.

Move from Weymouth to Quincy.

I had a great experience with Casey Movers. The estimate for the job was held to and I paid exactly that amount. The two young men, Kyle and Tony, who did the move were competent, professional, speedy and kind. They were very good to drop some items at another location and did not add an additional charge to the bill, which they would have been within their rights to do. They were very careful with all my belongs and did not leave until every piece of furniture was where I wanted it and made sure the beds were properly assembled. The move went much faster than I expected. I will use them again in the future and I highly recommend this moving company!

Do Not Hire.

I hired Casey Movers in May 2019. I signed up for self-pack service and moving furniture and boxes. They came out for an estimate and overbudgeted for time. The pickup crew spend an hour going over tipping practices in the industry and not the liability or coverage. My furniture was to be stored in their warehouse for a few days until the closing at the other property. The drop off crew left some items unpacked, was rude and unprofessional. One of the side tables was missing the glass piece on top, making it completely unusable. A couple of weeks after the move, after we opened all boxes, I informed customer service that I can't locate the glass piece. They game me the runaround advising me to check with place of origin, my new home etc. which I did with no successful outcome. At that point, realizing that I won't find be able to locate the glass, I contacted again requesting some form of compensation which they declined because I was a self-pack customer. MAKES NO SENSE! I did not self-pack furniture. They removed the glass from the side table and LOST it in transit. Liability lies with Casey Movers!!
Terrible customer service and unwillingness to rectify their mistakes. No accountability.

Moving to Boston.

They showed up early which would have been ok, except they complained about not getting in loading dock when they were not scheduled that early. The did ok, until a few items never got to our new place and when called immediately after they left said they never saw them which was not true, they took a tip and did not tell us they broke or took the items. When the company was called they gave us the run around and basically blamed us for broken items, funny how driver said they did not see them and manager said it was our fault . The driver didn’t have the decency to pick up my phone call either. I would not recommend this company.

Don't Hire Casey Movers!

I would like to preface this by saying any good review about Casey Movers are from personal friends, colleagues or relationships. Think about this dear reader: A moving company does not do stellar work for one person, and deplorable work for another. This was approximately the 5th time I hired a moving company. Other moves I did on my own with friends helping. In the 10 or so moves in my life, there was NEVER a broken object, and NEVER a missing item.

I hired Casey movers for an interstate move with one stop along the way. The first thing red flag was a comment from the lead mover it was going to cost more than the agreed upon price. The second red flag was a suggestion I purchase extra insurance. After they packed their truck they left for the first stop. I locked up the house and followed them, eventually passing the truck which was stopped at a Dunkin’ Donuts. I waited almost an hour at the first stop. When they arrived, the lead mover told me he would need another $1000 or he could go any further. I felt I had no choice, and went to the back and got the money. When they arrived at my new place, they started moving things in, and actually slamming boxes marked fragile on other boxes, and I could hear glass breaking. They knocked my furniture into door jams, gouging the wood, and telling me, “Sorry, but I’m tired.”

The lead mover then told me it was too late, and they were too tired to finish the job, and they would return the next day. He assured me there would be no charge for keeping my belongings overnight. Again, I was stuck, and had to trust them, and agree to them completing the job the following day. When I called the next day, I was told there was an overnight fee for storage, as well as an additional fee for moving the remainder of my belongings. I finally hired another moving company who went to their cite and got the rest of my belongings and moved them in.

In addition to the dishes and glassware broken by Casey Movers, many of my well wrapped pictures were shattered. Some items were shattered as if they were thrown on the ground. Every piece of my bedroom furniture moved by in by Casey Movers on the first night, was scratched as if it were done with a knife, and there were gouges in the wood. The 2 dowels on the back of my bedroom mirror were broken in half. There is no way that kind of damage could have been done in a move, and was clearly done with malicious intent.

Yes – I took them to court, and I thought I could negotiate with them. Unfortunately when you go through small claims, you need to get estimates on the value of repairing the damages, and I did not do so. I felt it was better to just take the money they offered, and not go in front of a judge because, although I had pictures and broken items, I didn’t feel I had the documentation to support the value of the items. There were items missing as well, which were taken from some of the boxes they did bring in on the first night, but again, I did not have receipts so I couldn’t claim them.

Please, DO NOT HIRE CASEY MOVERS. THEY ARE THE WORSE KIND OF THIEVES AROUND. THEY ARE PREDATORS. They prey on women. It doesn’t matter who owns the company, a crook is a crook and without a conscience. I wish I had read the reviews before hiring them. AGAIN, DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE. READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BECAUSE THESE ARE THE TRUTHS. DO NOT HIRE CASEY MOVERS!!

Good job!

I had a good experience last week with Casey. The job was quoted accurately and they even had an extra guy show up, but didn't charge me for it. The guys were polite and helped me when I asked. They moved fairly efficiently and didn't damage any of my things or chip paint in my new home upon move in. I'd hire them again!
