Terrible Company: Total Scam.

Never use this moving company!!  Our estimate was a 3 hour move for $313.  They came with their smallest truck and ended up having to make two trips.  The three movers worked so slow, were carrying one box at a time, and spent their time chatting about their other business endeavors than doing their jobs.  After 9 hours (moving 1/2 mile), I called the manager and he was absolutely beligerent.  He refused to recognize our original estimate and threatened to press charges if we did not pay the full amount.     BR movers also charges to wrap any piece of furniture.  Our furniture (even metal framed items) were double and triple wrapped.  Any ploy to make a buck.  Our total came to $1600.  12 hour move, terrible service, and over 5 times the price as negotiated.   SCAM!

Missing items.

Never call them for any moving. Missing boxes, $500 extra in final bill and management never responded to my emails and complaints. What else you need to stop using their service. This service was provided 5 months ago and they I opened my boxes 4 months after their service and found out that there are over $1500 of stolen items. Not responding to me raises big? To their honesty! One more thing, I left them a tip!

Hidden charges and verbally abusive foreman.

The movers gave us a time frame between 8-10 and showed up close to 11. The quote for the TOTAL move was for $100 per hour for 4 workers ($700 total). The work was slow, with sometimes over 20 minutes between times when a mover would be visible.

The move was less than 3 miles and they stopped for a sit down dinner between houses (when they said they would hit the drive through and eat in the van) and I had to pay $100 per hour for their 45 minute stop.

The foreman was verbally abusive and intimidating when he was asked about the delay and threatened to leave our stuff in the van and leave. While on his hissy fit, we were still paying and after 15 minutes, we ended up signing a bill for $1650 -- $950 more than the $700 estimate out of fear of what he would do to our things or us. We had authorized the TV to be packaged for $45 and the bed for $28. They charged 3 times these amounts and added in a few extra hundred by packaging items that we specifically told them not to.

We called the movers five times to resolve the overcharges and they kept saying that someone would call us back the next day (but never did) - this went on for over 2 weeks before someone would look into it. They said that they have had complaints about the foreman being verbally abusive before and he was suspended in the past. they decided that since we didn't authorize the $1,000 in additional charges, they would be willing to refund 10% of the overcharges. What a joke! DO NOT USE THESE movers!!

BR MOVERS - Not honest; Not professional.

If you don't have time to read this entire review, know this. I have moved 8 times in 8 years and used several moving companies. BR Movers with their unprofessional workers, hidden fee's, and horrible customer service was BY FAR the worst I have experienced. Their workers are confrontational and argumentative and will not respect you or your family. I was quoted @ $440 and paid $750.

Details:
The moving team was supposed to show up between 8-10am. They called me at 10:30 to let me know they were running late after I called their main office twice asking where they were. When they got there at 10:45 they offered no apologies or explanations.

Although I was quoted for 3 movers they brought 4 and I was told that if I didn't agree to use the 4th man (and pay an additional rate) they would not finish my move anywhere near the time quoted.

Although I gave Jennifer a full list of all of my items, she neglected to tell me that her company would not move my mattresses & box springs unless they were in plastic moving bags and they would not move my mirrors unless I purchased their special moving boxes (additional cost $180). I called her during the move to complain and she said that she would handle it and I wouldn't be charged. I never heard from her again, and was forced to either buy their mattress bags or find another way to move my items since "they would not be going on this truck."

The onsite supervisor Buddy argued constantly with my wife and me over EVERYTHING. He got in my face and yelled at me when I refused to buy their supplies. Buddy knew my wife and I couldn't afford to reschedule our move and he threatened to "shut down the move" several times and at one point stopped his team from working for 15 minutes (time that I was told would not be billed to me). I called their corporate office several times to discuss these additional mattress charges and Buddy's horrible behavior but little was done. I still had to buy 3 mattress covers but was given one for free.

We were moving from a 4th floor apartment with no elevator, and moving to a 1st floor condo. It took 2.5 hours for the team to wrap our items and load the truck (including the 15 minute "shut down").
Once at my new 1st floor apartment, Buddy estimated the move-in time to also take 2.5 hours. BR Movers policy requires payment before the team unloads, but I was told if it took less time I would be credited. It was obvious that if it took 2.5 hours to carry everything down 4 flights and carefully load it on a truck, it should take less time to unload into the 1st floor condo and just drop in a room (I didn't have them set-up anything).
What I hadn't realized is that Buddy would be the only one allowed on the truck during unloading. He purposely went slow and there was ALWAYS at least one worker doing nothing during the unload process - just waiting for Buddy to bring him something.

Even with Buddy slowing it down, the unload only took 2 hours but Buddy refused to credit my back my 1/2 hr of overcharged labor. He also refused to credit the 15 minutes of time that he stopped everyone from working. We again loudly argued about this (probably our 8th argument of the day) and it ended with Buddy screaming and cursing me in the middle of the street - telling me to "GO F*CK MYSELFmyself," cursing out my wife, and saying that he was the owner of the company so it wouldn't do any good to complain.

It took about a week and several e-mails with BR Movers and Ron Biton (I think the real owner) but I was eventually credited for the 30 minutes of time that I was over charged. There was never anything done about Buddy's behavior throughout the day and his outbursts at the end of the day were chalked up to human nature in response to our arguments.

As you can see, this company is beyond horrible. There were several other things I could complain about in detail (workers using cell-phones constantly, Buddy never did any physical labor during the loading process, workers couldn't figure out how to get large items into some rooms - although my wife and I could in a matter of seconds, etc.), but I think this is long enough.

Just know that this company will give you a great estimate, but will then strong-arm you into additional fee's & additional workers. The sales people are very nice, but once moving day comes they disappear and you are left with a group that will use any leverage they can to exploit you. Workers have no respect for you or your family and will act as if they are doing you a favor by moving your stuff. Management seems to be okay with this as they protect their own over protecting their customers. This move happened in November and it still makes me upset - I won't ever let anyone I know use this company.

Long-distance move from New York to New Jersey

I recommned them.

They were there on time and finished 20 minutes early. They're totally worth it! Call them!! they worked straight through a long day with only ten minutes break for couple of times. All their employees took the move very personally. The good thing was that my budget for the moving was enough for the price I was charged with. They indeed have affordable deals. I recommend them.

Thnak u!!

I'm very pleased with the service from Br Movers, These guys walked me through the whole process answered all questions I had. They told me all the charges up front how long it would take. Basically took good care of me. The move was completely stress free! It was also awesome that I was able to book them kind of last minute (about 2 days before I was going to move). THANK YOU!!

BR Movers steal customer Items.

This company should not be in business. They are essentially predators who prey on people at a vulnerable moment. They don't serve the customers properly. The truck driver is not in a situation to identify what all the items to be delivered at the destination. He places some else's items at the destination and says that our job is completed. My situation is completely different. They have packed all my belongings from the origination. They have made all the inventory. At the destination, as I am out of state I have asked one of my friend to accept my delivery on my behalf. When driver has arrived, my friend was asked to pay the amount even before they started unloading. They claimed that they will unload only when they receive the amount. Having no option my friend has paid total amount. After that they started placing all the items inside which are not mine. And when I have called my friend, I am able to find out that they were delivering someone else's stuff to me. Not at all one of my item is kept inside. When my friend has told them this information, then they checked the inventory and started to unload my items. During this interchange of items they did not deliver 3 of items. Among them one of the item is very valuable and personal to me. I am so sentimental to the items inside them. And my friend has clearly seen that particular item but as he is not aware of my stuff properly he did not ask the truck driver about my item. I forgot to mention that they have delivered someone else's item at my place. That is a Commode Plumbing stick, which I have kept aside. When have claimed about my lost items, they are saying that the truck is empty when it has gone back. And neither of the other customers have received my item. So they say that I am lying to them as I have not mentioned about the others stuff on the first day which I have ignored due to two reasons. 1. I am in great tension of my valuable items. 2. As it is commode plumbing stick, I have completely ignored the item. Now they are not even picking up my calls. They are also saying that I am wasting their time just for the sake of fake claims. They are not understanding the value of my items. I cannot afford to loose such valuable items. Also I cannot afford to get them back.

I sincerely advice not to use these movers in future at all. They don't understand our concern and they don't even listen to us.

Quote Adjusted upon arrival.

I had sent a very specific list to the company rep in addition to speaking to her in great detail and recieved a quote of $936 when the driver arrived he estimated the cu ft necessary to be over 500 cu from the original 326 cu the quote changed to over $1600..I had not added any items that were not on the original quote list. Additionally, I had fewer boxes (18) than alloted (20) and 4 dining room chairs were actually folding chairs so would have taken up much less space. I had packed some items in plastic containers, but they did not exceed the 3 cu ft size limitation. I had originally included 4 of those containers in the initial quote. I ask for a copy of the paperwork he has used to recalculate so I could dispute it with management and he would not provide it to me. I feel like they thought they had us over a barrel and we would pay whatever they ask since our funiture was all packed and in our garage..not happening..will find someone who is honest in the future.
