Long-distance move from California to Arizona

WOW! a team of Pros.

Excellent. We had a lot of furniture and many, many boxes, and they had to walk quite a distance from our building to where they could load the truck at the residence we were moving from.  They were fast and efficient.  At our new place, they had a narrow stairway to deal with.  At no time did they ever complain - they always had smiles on their faces even when carrying our big couch up that narrow stairway. They even went the extra mile at our place we were moving from and put our closet door back on its track for us and also used their own tools to unscrew the bolts on our Direct TV satellite dish for us (I had tried to take it down and couldn't budge the bolts!) and move it to our new place.  Professional, efficient, and reliable. I would use them again for sure. Make sure to get the online coupon!

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Wrong pricing, rude.

The worst experince I ever had with any company.. The way he deal with me was totaly unprofessional as initially their representative "Dana" gave me less price and later on when they came for pickup the messup started.. they came before time as my family was sleeping and few items was unpacked. The person "Tom" who came for pickup was very very rude and loud. he was started fighting with me and started threatening that he will not move the stuff as he was asking for more prices for packing. I called Air1 moving they also dint help me and I have to catch my flight from SFO to Orlando so they were taking advantage of that. Finally they charged me $300 extra and on Monday when I raised this concern with "Dana" she was even not picking my phone. finally when I escalated to her manager "Vicky" she apologies for whole story and listened my concern .

They took  23 days to deliver my stuff and I am sure I would never use it again and will not recommond anyone to use it.

Long-distance move from California to Wisconsin

Seriously don't recommend them.

It is now October 29th, 2013.  I used Air1 Moving and Storage to move a one-bedroom apartment from CA to WI in mid-June 2013.  Glad I will be putting Air1 to rest after I post my review of them.  When I think of my experience with these guys, it makes my gut turn.  My goal in this review is to put it out there so people don’t have to go through what I went through.

A couple things before I begin.  Back in July, after my experience with them was not going well, I need to point out that I read similar stories to mine about these guys.  You’ll read about them.  The only reason I waited until October 2013 to post my review is that I wanted to see what they would reimburse me in the claim I had against them.  Their response to my claim was unfair.  It was not a surprise.  These guys are terrible.  The customer service is some of the worst I have ever come across.  Believe what you read when you read about these guys.  They may have the occasional happy customer who needed something simple done.  But if it is big or complex, this company is not the one you want to deal with.

Because the story could end up being long I am going to just leave a list of thing that stand out about them.

1)    The first thing the guy who loaded my stuff said to me was that the volume of my stuff was underestimated.  He didn’t even say hello. My original estimate was around $1200.
2)    The mover could only point out an extra 20 square feet of volume compared to what I had on the item list but he charged me for 50 square feet at six bucks a square foot (an extra $180)
3)    The mover packed things I told him not to pack and added it to my bill.
4)    THIS IS IMORTANT!  He rushed me through the insurance coverage on my shipment and in a way, urged me to sign to have my shipment covered at 60 cents per pound in the event that it was lost.  STOP AND THINK ABOUT THAT.   Its usually going to reimburse at a very low rate depending on what you’ve got packed.  He didn’t give me any other options but just handed me the pen and said, “initial here”.  I feel stupid that I let him rush me into agreeing.  FYI, you don’t have to accept this coverage, which WILL work out to their advantage.  He told me they wouldn’t lose any of my stuff, which was not true.  They lost a box.
5)    If your move is close to 75 feet, they will most definitely add on a charge rather than give you the benefit of the doubt.  Have a tape measure handy.
6)    They will have you pick a delivery date but they have the option of storing it up to 21 BUSINESS days before they ship it to you.  My stuff arrived 17 days after my requested delivery date.
7)    As a whole, their availability by phone is poor.  They don’t call you back at times.  They will not call you to give you updates.  Very poor communicators.  All emails from these guys were full of bad grammar.  I don’t know how educated they are or where they are from.
8)    The guy that moved my stuff from California was a scammer.  He charged me for a questionable long distance move (over 75 feet) and pocketed the money himself.  He demanded cash and wouldn’t let me put it on my Air1 bill or credit card because he wanted to pocket the money himself.
9)    The mover never assembled my stuff, as was part of the contract agreement.  He sighed when I brought it up and left without doing it.
10)The mover carelessly pushed a box against the gas knob on my stove and gas was running for about 5-10 minutes.  My whole house smelled like gas for like 20 minutes.  Could have ended up worse.
11) The mover didn’t even have an official receipt for me when he was done.
12) As I stated above, they lost a box of mine that had about $750 worth of textbooks.  The mover didn’t notice it.  I had to catch the mistake.
13) I filed a claim against Air1 in July 2013 and got an offer for settlement in October 2013.  Altogether I feel like I lost money because they overcharged me in volume of stuff, long distance walks.  They lost a box of books of mine that was worth about $750.  They reimbursed me $45 after listening to my complaints.  They lucked out because I was suckered into agreeing to reimbursement of my stuff at 60 cents per pound.

In summary these guys run a terrible business.  They don’t care about doing a good job for you.  I’m looking after you.  Trust me, I have other things to do with my time other than typing a review for an hour.   But doing this review was worth it.   If there is one thing about my experience with them that is a positive it is that I feel as if I know every scam in the moving business.  These crooks can keep the $45 dollars for all I care.  I don’t want anything to do with them anymore.

Awesome exp with the crew!

I've got a few estimate before I hired those guys. Mary was my coordinator and she was super friendly and helpful; after we booked from today to tomorrow (what was totally impossible for other companies) she worked thru with me for all the details. The estimate was almost the samba as total.
The moving crew was super careful with my belongings, waterways so nice although I was so annoying thru the whole day.
I'm defiantly going to use them again.

Long-distance move from California to Virginia

RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Worst service ever.

RUN AWAY FAR AND FAST!!  Worst customer service ever.  Very rude, hung up on twice when trying to find out where our stuff was.  We were quoted 14 days for delivery.  It is now 26 days and we still don't have our stuff.  They came a day early to pick up our stuff and we were told "take it or leave it", this was after we paid the deposit and had a contract confirming the correct date.  They didn't care though.  Worst customer service ever.  We were told "sue us, hope you have everything documented".  Can't believe this company is still in business.  Run very far away from this company.  Oh, and we were charged $500 more than their estimate.  Their quotes don't mean anything, once they load the truck, they will change the price on you.

Great Company.

I got quotes from a bunch of different companies before settling with this company.  While I hadn't known anyone who had used them before, I decided to role the dice book them for my move.   Quality service with a happy office staff! What more can you ask for when scheduling a move? Thanks Air1 Moving and Storage. Your help and cheery attitude during my relocation,  made moving a walk in the park! BRAVO!
I will defiantly use them again, and I'll recommend them to everyone I know.

Long-distance move from California to Georgia

Unprofessional and POOR Customer Service.

This is the worst moving company I have ever used in my life! Please save yourself the headache and stress. This company is beyond unprofessional and the customer service is [EDIT] poor. My flat screen television was broken in transport, I filed the claim as I was instructed to do and they only wanted to give me $30 for my television. I called everyone from the janitor to the manager and nobody wanted to deal with/handle my case. They wouldn't return voicemail's or emails. It's not worth it! Not to mention the delivery driver helping himself to my kitchen and sticking his head underneath my kitchen faucet to get a drink of water and wash the sweat off of his head. This company should not be in business. Period!

Long-distance move from California to Washington

Great Move - Long Distance!!

Air 1 Moving & Storage Moved my apt from San Diego to Seattle, Washington. They were on time, super professionals and did a great job! It seems like this guys are the experts when it comes to long distance moving. When we first call I wasn't sure if they actually do long distance because they seem to be small & local, but after reading some reviews and doing online reserch - I found out they are one of the best companies out there! Thank you very much guys!

Local move from Los Angeles, CA to San Jose, CA

Theft and Conversion.

I hired these guys to move some of my belongings from Los Angeles to San Jose. The only problem is they never delivered my belongings. I was told by their estimate specialist, May, delivery would likely be the next day, but could be up to the end of the week, Friday. The rates were good, that was fine with me. My move was on a Monday. The crew arrived on-time and overall they were a good crew. But before they left they could not confirm the date of delivery with their office. It was the end of the day and my daughter and I were getting hungry so I figured the crew was good so I didn't think much of it. 2 days later, I was now in San Jose and I called the company to confirm a delivery date and they were now telling me next week Monday, maybe Wednesday. This is where it started to go bad. I spoke with Lee and she said I didn't have any proof of the required delivery time frame in writing so that was too bad. I immediately thought, these guys are going to take their time steal my belongings and there was nothing I could do to stop it, they had my stuff. I spoke to May again and she was now reinforcing the lie said by Lee. I ended the call and sent a letter asking them to email me a copy of all the moving documents by the end of business and to confirm an actual delivery date. They ghosted and I still don't have my stuff. THESE GUYS LITERALLY STOLE MY BELONGINGS AND ARE REFUSING TO CONTACT ME. I literally have to fly back to Los Angeles and knock on their door to figure out what happened.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to Philadelphia, PA

Awful.

I moved from CA to PA. The quote I was given was fixed, except it wasn't. After all my belongings were loaded the price doubled! From $3000-$6000. Finally after some very interesting math the 'foreman' got the price to $5000. I thought that was the end of the headaches, boy was I wrong. I specifically called to ask if the truck had left CA about 2 weeks after the pickup and was told they couldn't tell me where the truck was. Finally, 3 weeks after the pickup the truck left CA and I was informed it would be to me sometime in the next 7-10 days. Well, I live in a city and need to get street parking permits for a moving truck, which I was extremely clear about. The driver called my Thursday Morning for a Saturday AM delivery, not enough time to get the required street permits. Since I could not accommodate this oneand only timeframe I would have to pay for the shuttle service which is, of course, another $1000.
