Most of the moves though (more than 50%) are performed by the top 10 largest moving companies in US. Some of them have started doing moves with horse drawn carriages back then (read more about the history of the moving industry here<\/a>). Now they own hundreds of moving trucks and you see their branded moving vans and trailers on the major interstate highways regularly. In this post I’ve tried to research which are the largest van lines in USA in terms of volume of jobs performed and number of moving trucks.<\/p>\n

The question “What are the biggest moving companies in the USA” can be answered in many ways depending on the actual jobs performed, the number of vehicles and the number of agents. As it is a difficult task to rank them properly, I’ve selected the biggest moving companies based on the number of moving trucks of the van line itself and all of its agents that operate under the same brand.<\/p>\n

  1. United<\/a> + Mayflower<\/a> – They operate under the both brand names.<\/li>\n
  2. Allied<\/a> + North American Van Lines<\/a> – They operate under the both brand names.<\/li>\n
  3. Atlas Van Lines<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Wheaton Van Lines<\/a> + Bekins<\/a> – Wheaton Van Lines recently acquired Bekins. As they are still going to operate as separate brands, I did count them as one company because the headquarters is the same for the both van lines.<\/li>\n

  6. Graebel Van Lines<\/a><\/li>\n
  7. Arpin Van Lines<\/a><\/li>\n
  8. Suddath<\/a><\/li>\n

          To have the sense of the industry, there are many types of companies that can do the job for you. Starting from the major van lines and self service companies, to the moving labor providers and moving brokers – there is a right company for you that can get the job done no mater if you are moving from one state to another one<\/a> or locally.
